the impala looks good if you make it look like a cop car
the impala looks good if you make it look like a cop car
and what car doesn't? :v:
I enjoy the respect I get from the stupid people who think it actually IS a cop car LOL. Like last night, 3 cop cars came up to a green light and wanted to turn left. Only the lead car had lights on, but all 3 had sirens on. All on-coming traffic stopped so they could turn, and when i was next in line they still sat there waiting me waiting for me to turn too...
I think new impalas lost all their classic charm :frown: now they look like all generic 4-door saloons
plus they're front-wheel-drive
plus they're front-wheel-drive
Biiiig deal.

1995 Nissan 240sx. Electrical problems out the asshole. Money pit. Huge POS but I loved it.
1989 Volvo 240 [IMG_thumb]http://img602.imageshack.us/img602/1999/1220101350.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Still drive it, reliable as hell, and will drift around corners.
plus they're front-wheel-drive
oh god..
Biiiig deal.
I don't like fwd

[img_thumb]http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/4985/sidecarb.jpg[/img_thumb]
v nice, not keen on the blackboard bonnet, i think it'd look much better gloss red. but apart from that, i probably would deposit a thick wad of jizz on your door if i happened to be walking by. [editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
I'm looking to get a more reliable car soon as it makes some noises that sound like the CV Joints when turning right and the timing belt is starting to come loose (Just recently tightened it). The inner-door arm-rest that you use to close the door also ripped off the other day. .
the timing belt is coming loose? sort that or your valves and pistons will have a nice meeting, providing yours isn't a non interference engine...
My first car was a Mitsubishi FTO when I was 16, given to us by my cousin who owns a garage, it had come in as a part exchange and I was nearly 17 (Legal driving age in the UK). They sell for peanuts over here so it wasn't a huge gift but I fell in love with it: Unfortunatley, they're impossible to insure. They're in group 20, the most expensive due to being import only and parts very hard to come by. My dad did take me out for a spin in it a few times, it wasn't the fastest car in the world but it looked like a little Aston Martin and stuck to the road like glue, I'd have given my left nut to have been able to drive it as a first car. Reluctantly I had to sell it because there was no way I'd ever get insured this side of being 25 so I got just over £1000 for it and it put towards a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, which I suppose was my true first car as I actually drove it. To this day I would still love it back. Maybe when I'm a bit older and can insure one (I'm 20, 2 years no claims and they'd still charge me £4000 a year for it!) then I'll get another as they're cheap enough to buy. Not my actual car in the pic. I'm at work so will upload them later.
'86 Honda Civic DX. 1.3L E series engine, carbureted, weak as all hell. But, 39mpg highway! :D (I'm crying on the inside. (I still drive it.))

Didn't, holding mock accident at school, heh. I was the photographer.
i had this as my first car, a renault laguna 1.8 rt. i fucking loved that car even if it was a french piece of shit. comfy as fuck, ate wheel bearings (4 in 8 months) then the cambelt snapped and it died. heh. drove it with completely bald tyres like fucking slicks in the snow once, that's the only time i came close to crashing it. i learnt to drive mainly in a peugeot 405 2.0 and a rover 25. the 405 was ok, the rover was absolutely wank. drove ok but blew 2 headgaskets in a year.
1987 Toyota MR2. I miss it so much even though it was the biggest piece of shit ever, stalled at every light, engine caught fire frequently, buzzer for key in the ignition was ear breaking, window wouldn't roll up all the way, and the list just goes on. But it had two things going for it, autocross and (through witchcraft I can only speculate) drifting.
Scratch that, wrecked the honda. The only thing holding that wheel on is the shock absorber. It's totaled considering original purchase price. :p
Now how did that happen?
Insert horrible understeer here, throttle wouldn't fix that because my right tire was quickly in the snowy margin. It just spun and spun, and off into the ditch I went. :(
Ah well that sucks, at least you're well and all. A friend of mine died this week in a car crash - probably due to black ice, Winter sucks.

A foot to the left and I may not have wrecked, but a foot to the right and I could be severely injured or worse. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Well, shit happens. I'm certain he wouldn't have wanted us to be sad all day long so i wont be. Stuff like that can happen to anyone but it still kind of makes you more aware of the way you drive. All i know is that i'm very gracious for my Volvo with it's mass and 20 Airbags.
Sad to hear but did you seriously try to fix understeer in an FWD car by stepping on the throttle?
Yes, and a bit of left foot braking, but it was far too late by the time I began to fix anything. I managed to move myself over just enough that I didn't careen into anything head on.
parents got me one of these for my 3rd birthday
 If you're understeering in a FF car, the last thing you want to do is hit the throttle.
Heh, expensive lesson, that.

The friend was driving and went head on into a tree on the passenger side. Left my cousin for dead while he fled the scene. Why people drink and drive is a mystery to me. Sorry, just had to share that. Edit: Picture of the car with story: http://www.wlwt.com/news/4102507/detail.html
