I've experienced sleep paralysis in front of my computer 2 months ago. My screen turned to static and a hand started reaching out for my face. I woke up by thinking very hard about headbanging, and I woke up headbanging. It was kinda terrifying, but it ended up being metal as fuck. :v:
I have it quite often (I hope that isn't a bad thing.) Never seen many hallucinations though, but it's scary not being able to move. Sometimes mumbles come out of my mouth asking for help. I saw one which was a dragon burning down my house while I am not able to move. Was creepy yet cool at the same time to be honest. Then another was damn depressing. It was one of my old cats purring and laying next to me, cuddling up. He has been dead for years, so waking up to that one was sad.
Nope, closest I've come is having an arm "fall asleep"/go numb from sleeping on it.
Yes, and it's absolutely horrifying. The last time I had it I saw a black figure standing by the side of my bed and it was looking at the wall, and I heard a deafening static sound while it stood there.
I've experienced sleep paralysis once but if i might go off on a tangent, can you explain exploding head syndrome to me? I have a theory what you might mean, in which case I occasionally get that. If however it's not what I'm thinking of, I congratulate you you your ability to survive with no head.
Basically, you know that state of transition between asleep and awake? Right as I am in that state and about to fall aleep, I hear a loud explosion or gunshot sound that jolts me awake. After a few seconds of panic, I realise that the sound wasn't real, just in my head. Very weird feeling. This happens repeatedly until I give up on sleeping. There is a wikipedia article if I'm not mistaken in case you wanna know more.
I have them pretty often and it's annoying
When I am sleep deprived and try to sleep, I tend to get sleep paralysis leading to extremely vivid and sometimes lucid, but rarely controllable dreams. The effects of sleep paralysis for me tend to be quite tame. i've only experienced visual hallucinations once, which was in the form of the word "WILD" appearing on my roof as I woke up (just after a lucid dream), which lasted for about a second before fading out, and the paralysis itself lasts about 5 seconds. Most of the times I get auditory hallucinations, though. Usually in the form of music or speech. Both the music and the speech can be either recognizable or made up. The speech can often be the voices of people I know and things they've said to me recently, or just complete gibberish from an unknown voice.
