Weird things happen to all of us. I have experienced many astounding events, just like many of us. Some of them scary, worrying while others just strange. Never the less interesting. Thread music: Like this one time, when i was about 9/10 years old. Back then, i still lived in my home country, Poland. I remember this event extremely well and it has stuck in my mind forever. Near the housing estate I grew up in is a hilly area that has quite a screwed up history, because of many disappearances that occured there and most profoundly, the mass murder that took place during world war two, in a valley that, like a wound, stretches into the said hills. Within that area during the communist era there were sheep pens. These sheep pens are now abandoned. Here's a picture of them: Here's the area where they are located and which i will discuss here: In the lower right corner, there is a small elevation of terrain. On it, is a lone tree. Locally known as the ''Hangman's Tree' or ''the Dead Man's Tree''. This is because in the 80's, a man hanged himself, or possibly was hanged on this tree. My grandmother told me, that in the morning, as many people were waiting for buses so they could go to work (cars weren't very common back then) somebody noticed the hanging corpse (which wasn't a very hard thing to do, as the tree is very highly visible) and soon the cadaver was removed. Here's a picture of the said tree: So on that faithful summer day, me and my buddies went to check that hill out, and then the sheep pens. As we approached the entrance of the large sheep pen, one of my friends suggested that we play a game. Since it was extremely dark in there and there were creepy stories surrounding the place, we were all pretty freaked out, but we did it anyway. As they were all kind of daft at the time, they all thought it was a good idea. I was reluctant at first but agreed too so that i wouldn't be seen as a coward. The game went like this: The last person to get scared wins a can of coke. The guy who suggested it, being full of himself, went inside. As we started walking through that place, we heard a really scary noise. It was like some sort of a gargle. Like the sound hunters from left 4 dead 2 make, except it had like a wailling tone to it. We all got really scared and started running. We ran to the hills. When we got to the top we stopped running and looked down. The guys didn't really want to talk about it, but i saw something rustling in the bushes at the bottom of these hills. We went for a walk and when we were going back home, we descended from the hills, and took a path that was next to the exit of the sheep pen, again, as a dare. You can see it on the satellite picture. It's near the the ''bottom'' of the large sheep pen. Walking along the path, i spotted something under a small tree that was located near. I pointed it out to my friends, who then noticed it too. I don't really remember how it looked like in detail, but here's a rough representation of the scene: Just before then i heard a weird noise, ''It'' ''got up'' (i am not sure what the hell was it doing, laying down or whatever) and we all got really, really scared, panicked and started running like hell. It think ''It'' had two legs, but hell, might as well have had four. That didn't matter though. What did matter, is that after we got back to the housing estate, and talked about what we saw, each one of us described it as having a different colour. Maybe it was some sort of camouflaged monster? Who knows. Just a few months before i learnt about El Chupacabra by watching the Discovery Channel, and then googling it, and soon i also earnt about a similar creature which has been seen in my area of the country, called the ''Pomórnik'' which has killed many farm animals in a way remarkably similar to the infamous ''El Chupacabra''. So i told my friends about it. One of them dismissed it completely calling it bullshit and the other got really interested. So as I mentioned it's similarities to the Pomórnik and El Chupacabra, my friends got really freaked out and we went straight back home. TL;DR: As a kid i heard weird sound in abandoned building, ran away, and going back home saw weird thing under a tree and got really freaked out. ITT: High octane nightmare fuel I would very much like to read about your strange experiences. Regards, Reborn9
Good thread with good potential. It has Facepunch's blessings.
This is going to be fun.
It's your imagination playing tricks on you. It was a wild animal and nothing more. [editline]10:29PM[/editline] or a weather balloon possibly
It's your imagination playing tricks on you. It was a wild animal and nothing more. [editline]10:29PM[/editline] or a weather balloon possibly
Maybe it was, a wild animal. Some sort of undiscovered species. And i know what i saw, i have photographic memory.
I still think it's your imagination morphing a very simple creature into some fucked up monster. but if you believe what you saw, then good for you. c:

About the size of a person. There aren't any wild animals this big in that area of Poland. Anyway, come on guys, post, let's share weird stories.
One time I slipped on a patch of snow, and when I looked back, it was an imprint of my shoe. Exact size and pattern. Then I had some hot cocoa cause it was really cold outside But there was no marshmellows
Awe. I hate when a thread, like this one just gets put up and not many stories or videos are on it. Just frustrating Nice story ElBoricua :V.
Some sort of undiscovered species.
I call bull
More stories please! I love these! Although, i have none, apart from.. 1) I was in an old quarry near my town once, and i heard something rustles in the bushes, and saw a black figure move from one bush to another, and felt a weird presence...that is it, but it freaked me out for the day. 2) A few weeks ago, i camped out with a few friends in some woods where a guy hanged himself from one of the trees, we set up camp about 20 meters from the actual tree, it felt so fucked up, and as you would expect, your mind plays tricks on you, and you think your hearing things and stuff. 3) I was went into an old abandoned hospital (which one of my friends got locked in a few weeks later, as the builders came and drilled the door as they had reports people were going in, and it needed to be knocked down to build houses on the ground, he had to break one of the other doors down and jump down), and it was the typical horror movie scene, long dark corridors etc. Also, in one section, there were baby scans all over the floor, like literally hundreds, all the way down the corridor, it was so weird. That hospital has gone now, and was replaced by a housing estate. They are all that come to my mind at the moment, not very descriptive i know...and they never really 'scarred me for life' like some peoples stories do, but they were pretty spooky. It was my contribution haha, i hope to see some more, stories like this are relevant to my interests.
Ive seen what people would call ghosts and what people would call UFOs, neither of which are scary.
Ive seen what people would call ghosts and what people would call UFOs, neither of which are scary.
Explain...
Maybe it was, a wild animal. Some sort of undiscovered species. And i know what i saw, i have photographic memory.
Everyone has photographic memory. Not everyone has the film, though.
Ok, beat this shizzles: Me, my girlfriend-of-the-time, her brother and his girlfriend went camping. The day before we had scouted to find the best location possible. We found a section of a field we knew that was closed off by foliage with a nice clear space in the middle. There were signs that people had camped there before so we went for that location. On the actual night, I fell ill so couldn't go. We decided to go again the next night so I could be there. My GF and the other girl said they had heard noises the night before, and that the dog was going mad for no reason. Me and the other dude didn't believe them. It got to the evening, and we suddenly believed them. I won't explain in detail, too creepy, but basically there were people that couldn't see or hear us, figures in the undergrowth and noises. We packed up and left. Even my GFs dad came along to help, and ended up as scared as us. There was no trickery of the mind at all...it was all real. We went back the next day, with about 10 people, and we all experienced the same thing at the same time: a shift in the air pressure and a movement of the top of many trees in the same direction at the same time. Then 3 rustles, getting closer to our position. Lets just say, we all looked at eachother and all our eyes said run. we ran all the way home. I have never been so scared in my life. Some of it may have been mind trickery, but I know for certain that 70% of it was not. And that's my story
You know what scares me, sometimes? When I'm taking a really hot shower and the shower curtain starts to pull in towards me. :tinfoil:
-snip-
I love how in the diagram you did, you are the tallest guy, and i love the image in general. Excellent work! Creepy too, but a lot could easily be mind trickery. How old were you?
Good thread with good potential. It has Facepunch's blessings.
Since when did you represent Facepunch.

As if you were contained from the rest of the world by some weird barrier, or transported into a different universe or something. I think that because people couldn't see or hear you there, and the trees were all moving in the same direction :tinfoil:
Since when did you represent Facepunch.
All '05ers have the ability to bless threads a la Facepunch. Didn't you know this? :raise:
You know what scares me, sometimes? When I'm taking a really hot shower and the shower curtain starts to pull in towards me. :tinfoil:
Static electricity lol. I used to hate showers because I am both claustrophobic and happen to believe in the paranormal etc. When this to happened to me, I used to jump out of the shower and run a bath instead. Nowadays I can explain it, so don't worry. Plus, a shower is so much more convenient. Still haven't got that claustrophobia thing sorted yet though...:buddy: [editline]11:15PM[/editline]
I was ten. And i've always been the tallest guy for some reason. Still, some parts of your story may have some credit.
I've seen a "black mass" before. It was when me and my dad were doing something with the computer downstairs, we went beneath the desk (about 3 feet deep) and we both saw a shadow the size of a small cat or guinea pig dart from one end of the desk to the other. It went behind the cabinet part of the desk, with about one inch of space to fit in. We both looked at each other and then shrugged it off. I was probably 10 or so. Also once in my basement during a sleepover I hallucinated that a shadow Mew was moving across my ceiling. Creepy stuff doesn't really ever happen to me.
Must have been a Deer.

You would have probably been a victim of a gang rape.

I hear really fat people have their own gravitational pulls. Please don't ban me. I'm just making a joke. I'm sorry! :ohdear:
Must have been a Deer.
I've seen deers many times, and that was no deer.

I wish creepy shit would happen to me.
I wish creepy shit would happen to me.
No, you really don't. :frown: Nothing really creepy has happened to me yet... and I'd be perfectly happy for it to stay that way.
