One time I slipped on a patch of snow, and when I looked back, it was an imprint of my shoe. Exact size and pattern. Then I had some hot cocoa cause it was really cold outside But there was no marshmellows
Shocking and scary story.
I bought an $11 pizza and it wasn't even good.
My girlfriend is pretty much tormented by this weird tapping sound coming from her ceiling. It happens at random but mostly occurs when she turns the lights off in her room to sleep. Well the weird thing is that it follows her around the room and whenever she leaves her room it stops. So I suggested that there could be a small animal up there but she explains that when the cable guy was there to fix a couple of shit in the attic above her room, she asked him if he saw any nests, small animals, or possible entrances/exits for a small animal to fit through. Nothing there. It only happens when she's alone in her room and never happens when ever any of her friends are with her. Last night she called me in the middle of the night waking me up because the tapping started again. She then told me about a time when the tapping started and she wanted to test something out. Right when there was a pause in the tapping, she tapped back to see if it would tap too. Well, whenever she tapped, it would respond to her. She got so scared she ran out of her room and into her mom's room. It didn't follow her though.
This. I have the EXACT same thing. Except it's right by the head or whatever of my bed :(. A while back, mabye 3 or 4 years, we had racoons in our attic, and I did the same thing, asked if there was anything that could get in by the area the knocking was, they checked and nothing, tottaly soild wood. So ya, I dunno. I just assume it's the house shrinking and expanding in the heat and what not. Suspiscios it never does the sound when others are around, when I was younger I brought my mom in a few times to show her, but it never made the sound. I haven't tried knocking back. Probaly never will, it will scare me shitless if it responds :(
Didn't exactly happen to me, but I was around at the time so whatever. About 8 years ago after moving into a very old house in the country, we were having some building work done on the attic. The builders we hired were classical no nonsense tough guys, all of them were pretty sorted, and you probably wouldn't want to mess with them. At one point during the contruction, when there were just two of the 5 builders up in the attic, the rest were with me and my dad in the kitchen getting something to drink, we heard a really loud scream and some crashing about from upstairs. As we were going to investigate the two builders came running down the stairs, white as sheets. I've honesly never seen anyone so scared shitless in my entire life. When they calmed down my dad said "Well, you two look like you've seen a ghost or something," laughing it off. They told him that they had indeed actually seen a ghost. They described her as a middleaged woman in victorian style clothing, sat in a rocking chair in the corner of the room. Of course when we went up to have a look we found nothing, but those two builders quit the job and various strange things have happened in the house ever since. Some of the lights turn themeselves on and off randomly, chairs spin or move, and according to my dad (I've never heard/seen this happen), the doors will open and slam shut, but I reckon that could just be the wind. Also, my computer at my mums house is haunted, it turns itself on at night :tinfoil:
Who you gonna call? That's right.
I've had a lot of strange things happen... I don't blame them on omg zombie goasts or anything, but they're pretty... odd. One time, I was at a friend's place and it was just me and him at night, home alone. We both decide to go out for a smoke, and he decides that we should go for a little walk in the woods... I agree, since it's a relatively serene, warm night. After about... a couple minutes of walking, we come across a tree that looks like... a stump, that abruptly splits into two... Well, it was a tree shaped like a V if that helps you imagine things better. Anyways, we decide to stop at this tree and we both enjoy our smokes when I feel... well, imagine the air around you suddenly... pressurizing. I hear a crunch... coming from the woods. I look at my buddy and he looks a bit off-put, as if he heard the crunch too. Then we hear another crunch, and another crunch, then another... We whisper to eachother that we'd best get the fuck out of here. It wasn't a stray dog, since it was just one crunching at a time, and it sounded kinda loud... We both take a few steps then we hear three crunches in rapid succession. At this point I say, in a voice just above a whisper, "fucking run." We both hightail it out of there and I can hear the crunches quickening and becoming louder, and they're starting to sound a bit close... We make it to his place and we fucking run inside then lock all the doors and windows. Another time, I was walking in the woods with the same friend in the story above, and another guy. The two of us decide to go for a smoke, and the other guy tags along but he doesn't smoke. We decide to go... deeper than the V-shaped tree this time. At one point we come to a clearing next to a cliff at the side of the lake. Me, my smoker buddy, and the other guy are chilling out when I begin to feel the air pressure change again... It doesn't look like the other two are noticing it though, so I just put it off as unwarranted paranoia. Behind my smoker buddy, me and the other person can clearly see... breath. As in, vapour... You know how you see "smoke" come from your mouth when you exhale on a cold day? Like that. We see a puff of "smoke" and I tell smoker and the other dude "We need to get out of here. Now." Smoker looks at me with a knowing look, and non-smoker looks scared, yet understanding. We all run out of there as fast we can... I can hear the crunching again. A lot of strange things happen in the woods behind his place. Dogs seem to have an aversion to it... Whenever I see a stray wander close to the forest entrance, it abruptly stops and stares into the forest for, around, half a minute, then runs off. And not a playful run, or a quickening of pace either... Ever see a dog run when it's scared, or chasing something? Yeah. Like that. At one point on the trail, there's a turn-off and this path leads to directly behind the local High School so all the students from his neighborhood cut around there to get to school. Some people have reported a sense of being "followed" or a presence around them. Not many people speak of this, but they've also reported seeing a small child lurk around the area. So, there's my experience... Believe, disbelieve, whatever. I'm just recounting what I saw and heard.

I've been having some weird experiences at night lately. For the past few months, I keep waking up in the middle of the night, and getting this disturbed feeling every time. The first time it happened, I just went to the kitchen and cut myself some cheese. While I was eating that, I looked around, and happened to glance at the window. I saw something very freaky. It was foggy that night. Visibility was down to 10-20 yards, and walking around at the limit, I saw what looked like people. When I saw that, the disturbed feeling increased. I got the sense that they wanted me, but couldn't get too close to my house. All I could see of them was their silhouettes. They walked slowly, like they were having trouble moving. Shuffling you could say. They have been there every few weeks, and I always get the same feeling about them. Needless to say, I sleep with a baseball bat next to my bed from now on.
Well I get to add my own story now. Let me set the mood, right now it's raining like shit, and almost tornado like winds outside. Today, after browsing the internet for a bit, I decided to go pratice some Zippo tricks with the new Zippo I just bought, unfourtantly it was low on oil/gas/whatever. So I looked all over the house to see if my dad possibly had some somewhere, but to no avail. So I decided to quickly run out back and check the shed. Have you seen Shutter Island? You know the scene where there in the graveyard and have to hide in a tomb because of the storm? Ya, it was almost exactly like that, I grabbed my key and zippo, and ran outside to the shed and hid inside from the storm. Now, it's also pretty dark out because of this storm, so I had to use my new trusty Zippo (Which was low on fuel) to semi-light the shed, as I checked bottles for some new fuel. A very creepy atomsphere with only a flame for light and a storm outside. Unfourtantly I didn't find any. So I get grab the shed key from where I put it down, and take a step towards the door when BOOM it slams open on it's own (From the storm obv, not saying thats a ghost or something). It made me jump, but didn't really scare me. I went to leave when I saw that the storm had picked up a lot in the minute I was out here, and I decided to just stay and wait for the wind to die down. So I'm sitting there, just listenting to the storm with my tiny flame of a zippo slowly dieing down, when I start to hear whispering. At first I just thought it was the storm against my metal shed. But gradually the whispering got louder and louder...Any of you that watched Lost for the first season. You know how thered be scenes where somebody would be standing in the jungle in the rain and thered be that whispering of the "others"? Ya it was exactly like that. So I start getting creeped out, and just as I get up to leave, a big crack comes and bam a branch from a nearby tree lands right on my shed, scares the crap out of me and I ran right out of there and into the house. So, nothing paranornmal really, still scary tho
I was went into an old abandoned hospital (which one of my friends got locked in a few weeks later, as the builders came and drilled the door as they had reports people were going in, and it needed to be knocked down to build houses on the ground, he had to break one of the other doors down and jump down), and it was the typical horror movie scene, long dark corridors etc. Also, in one section, there were baby scans all over the floor, like literally hundreds, all the way down the corridor, it was so weird. That hospital has gone now, and was replaced by a housing estate. They are all that come to my mind at the moment, not very descriptive i know...and they never really 'scarred me for life' like some peoples stories do, but they were pretty spooky. It was my contribution haha, i hope to see some more, stories like this are relevant to my interests.
That's what I call fucked up shit... It might not be scary for someone else, but I never really liked stuff envolving stuff like dark corridors and even worse, baby scans and stuff related. It just doesn't feels right in my head... Then mix a few moans and screams coming from what would be a woman/baby/little girl, and im shit scared. Lovely, this thread is making me look back constantly now... Oh I just remembered this short episode of my life that happened when I was like 5 or something. It was raining pots and pans, thunders and lightning and wind and all that kinda shit you can expect from bad weather. Since I was 5 and there was no electricity for the night, I was scared and went to sleep on the same bed with my parents. I woke up at like 3am, on the middle of my parents. They were turned to each side of the bed. I woke up, looked through the windows, and, I cant remember if they had the wood doors open or if they were closed, but I saw this huge light, coming in, for like 3 seconds. It could iluminate a bit of the room. It disapeared after. I dont know what it was, but it was really weird
The first time I got Sleep Paralysis. I thought I was being possessed by a fucking demon.
Alright, I suggest everyone reading this post either to scroll past this post, because this is just mind-freaking-creepy. And because it happened to me, I've become really fucking jumpy and panicked in the slightest bit of dark when being alone. So this thing started in broad daylight, I was alone at home, and our house was currently going throught some re-construction of the shover and sauna section. And because of this, the hallway leading to... oh fuck it, let the picture explain: So yeah, because the rest of the house beyond that door was under construction, it was only covered with a foliage that made creepy wind sounds and kept wobling and moving all the time. The first sights of incoming shit towards the fan was during day, when I was in the living room, chilling, watching tv. Mind you that this was in summer and I fucking fear bees and wasps (childhood events, don't ask), so I was always lookout for their distinctive sounds and small movement. So yeah, some time during the day I started hearing this really weird sound, like a crappy stereo playing nonstop bass really quiet, and cracking and stuff like that making it sound disoriented. This sounded like a bee hitting a window constantly when trying to get out. This made my ears and eyes all fucking sensed up, scanning the huge room, bit by bit. But I didn't see any, which made me all more jumped up, because I didn't know where the fucker was, and where it will come to sting me from. During this weird sound I noticed that the annoying wobling of the foliage on the door had completely stopped, same goes for the sound of wind. It was really really quiet, if you don't count that eerie bass sound. But I didn't notice it because I was so concentrated on spotting the flying bugger. Soon I moved to the kitchen, the door to my room was closed (as usual to prevent any bees, wasps, bugs getting into there during summer). Now the stairs leading to upstairs are creaky as hell, making it impossible for anything or anyone try to sneak between the floors without waking up everyone in the house. Yeah, well, I heard the 7th step (yup, during the years I've lived in this house, I have learned to recognize even the sounds of every step in the stairs.) and so I thought my sister or brother was in the house and tried to sneak around for some reason. Off I go to there, and surprise surprise, nothing. I then proceed to upstairs. Now, here begins the first phase of mind-fuckery, as I went to the room on the left in the picture. The duck-taped door of the attic in the room started creaking and shit. Now let me tell you a little story about that attic dear Facepunch, from the first year of moving into this house, we were never, ever allowed to enter that attic. It was duck-taped from the very beginning. It has only been open once, I got only glimpse inside, and all I saw was really darkness and some old chair and litter in the floor. But after that day, the door had been kept tightly closed, usually blocked with a shelf or other stuff too. Our dad has always told us to never even try to open it. And if we questioned him, he'd get angry and told us that there was dangerous. He never told us what thought. The door started creaking and cranking, like it was going to burst. I foolishly didn't consider this as nothing worrisome, and noted it with "uh, okay, thats weird". Yeah, well, things started to go only downwards spiral like a burning Spitfire towards the sea during the Battle of Britain from that point. First I started having this strong feeling of someone being behind me, and I started feeling quite...threatened. Like there was someone creeping behind a corner with a knife. I quickly checked the stairway and the second room, nothing. But the feelings mentioned early just kept getting stronger, and the door kept creaking louder and louder. Suddenly, it stopped, the feeling of someone being behind me and the threat disappeared and was replaced with a loud humming inside my head. I felt really frigging dizzy, like I was about to pass out. I quickly went downstairs, into the living room, and sit into the sofa-chair. Now I don't know did I pass out or just forgot, but it suddenly was dark, like someone had hit the "night" switch. It was so dark I thought I was blind, but soon my eyes got used to the dark. I was still sitting on the chair, but in different position. I was quite confused about what the fuck was going on, because I didn't feel tired or anything, I pretty much felt like I just jumped forward in time. And that both confused me and my body the heck out, it also didn't help me feel any safer to note that all the damn lights in the house were off. Even the kitchen light which is always on. Shit kept only going creepier. The dizzy feeling was gone, so was the eerie bass sound. But now the creepy wobbling of the foliage and wind caused by it was back. Now I was started to feel scared, so I proceed to the light switch. As soon as I got the lights on, the bass sound came back, stronger this time. Then I turned around to noticed that the living room was a mess. No idea what had happened. I took a carefull peek to the kitchen and was scared shitless when I noticed that my room's door was open, and it was pitch-black in there. There was supposed to be no-one in the house expect me, which made it all more creepy. The sound of the wobling and wind was gone again. I got the lights on the kitchen, and started going towards my room. And my God, I felt really fucking shit, I felt like running so bad. My brains were screaming "DONT GO IN THERE" but I knew if I didn't put the lights in there, I wouldn't be able to know was the room really empty. And it would just leave me all unsure am I really alone in this house. So I entered into the darkness And hit the switch First, it seemed that everything was okay in my room, nothing was out of place, same condition as it was in the day. But then the creepy cracking bass sound stopped all of an sudden, and I started seeing movement in the corner of my eyes, fuck yeah, in the middle of the room. I first thought it was from me being tired or something, but I wasn't tired at all. Then I started feeling dizzy, again. Oh boy, then it was a fucking trippy trip. The room started warping in my eyes, stars started spinning in my eyes and the corners in the room started getting darker and darker. And those dark spots looked as if they were coming towards me. The bass sound went steadily from quiet to fucking loud. Holy shit I was basically shitting more bricks than the whole industry of Ruhr in a wartime production capacity. And while being scared utterly shitless I unnoticable took few steps backward, getting out of the room. The warping and the weird shadows kept in the room, and when I closed and opened my eyes. They were gone. If you think this was the peak of the fucked-upness, you are wrong. Oh boy, now the fun begins. The lights in the kitchen suddenly went off for a couple of times before coming back. All the sounds in the house suddenly ceased, all the voices stopped. And while I was trying to figure out in my scared-to-shitless brains what the fuck was going to happen next. The stairs started creeking. "Holy shit" I thought Someone was coming down the stairs I was in utter shock, the hallway had lights off, someone was already comind in the middle of the stairs, and I had nowhere to run. I started searching fast something to defend myself with (but I'm quite sure I would have crapped my pants and dropped whatever I was holding and started crying in the corner, curled up in a ball), I quickly crabbed a wrench from the table next to the living room - kitchen opening. And prepared myself. One after another, the steps in the stairs creaked, steadily coming towards the first floor. The only sounds in the world around me were those creaks. They kept getting closer and closer, until, the last step, creaked. I stared into the darkness, something was there, I could fucking feel it with every fysical and physical sense I had. And it was something really, really, really bad. Then the lights in the whole house, went off. All of them. I was in total darkness. And this time... I wasn't alone Now this was the famous last drop that broke the camel's back, the last bind holding my sanity snapped, and I just simply rushed in the darkness to the hallway, swinging the wrench around. And as soon as I into there, I hit the light switch. Nothing. In the panic I simply kicked down the foliage in the door to the under-construction section of the house, and ran outside. I don't know what happened after that, because I then woke up in my room, with my dad and mom on the door discussing about what the fuck had happened in the house while they were away. And calling on the phone to someone and talking about what they had seen. After they noticed I was awake they told me finding me outside on the front garden, with blood coming out of my nose and mouth. They had called a police and they investigated and stuff, but they found nothing that wasn't caused by none other than me, other than that the attic door upstairs was wide open, with the duck-tapes ripped off the wall. We moved from the house in the next couple of days. [editline]12:49AM[/editline] Mind you that I had really hard time writing this, I had to go throught the utterly horrible memories of this to put on here. Which I really wouldn't like to memember anymore, actually, I'm not able to sleep tonight thanks to this. Atleast there are other people in this home right now.
Dude, what the fuck man, that's scary.
Looking back now, I'm surprised I didn't go batshit insane after that. Really, my brains were so drugged with fear that I was functioning purely on survival instincts
Looking back now, I'm surprised I didn't go batshit insane after that. Really, my brains were so drugged with fear that I was functioning purely on survival instincts
I bet $50 that Cthulhu was beind that door, and he was playing with your sanity in order for you to subconciously open the door for it to escape. Did you ever ask anyone what was behind that door since that incident?
Sounds alot like a seizure to me.
There were never in the attic other than wooden scrap and that old chair, my dad told me that the floor of the attic was rotten as fuck and I would fall right throught it to the ground outside if I'd go there. But I'm not sure was that the case. Anyway, we don't live in that house anymore. I try to find a picture of that door, seriously, it was all taped up. With a small shelf infront of it.
Sounds alot like a seizure to me.
I'm quite sure I passed out due to sheer amount of fear, don't know about the first pass-out, a nap that went too long, perhaps? I still take naps everynow and then
well, once I looked in a mirror... :ohdear: On a more serious note, one time I was hiking in the woods and felt like I was being followed. I turned around and there was another hiker there. I talked with him for a bit and stopped to take a rest-he kept moving. A couple minutes later after I caught my breath I heard a scream down the trail that sounded like the hiker. I got up and ran towards it, and I found his backpack. Thinking he'd lost it, I started shouting "Hey, you lost your backpack, dude!" No response. Then I heard footsteps coming. I felt really uneasy by that point, so I set it down and figured he'd find it, then I ran. I was back at the rest point when I heard a tearing noise back the way Id came. I went back to the pack and found it torn apart. I ran and never went back to those woods. I know the 'monster' was probably a curious raccoon or something, but still. I reported the other man missing and he still hasn't been found. TL;DR: I was hiking in the woods and wierd shit happened.
This thread needs to be made into a book.
long story
That's some creepy shit
I got one, I was driving with my mom back home from a movie, when I saw a couple lights in the sky and I just starred. Eventually I turned away and we got home. My mom told me to take out the trash and the lights were still there, then they got really bright and suddenly dissappered, My mom came outside and asked what was taking so long. What seemed like seconds outside was in reality 5 minutes... weird... I never thought much of it but it fits the thread so : / By the way it was around 10 at night. [editline]07:44PM[/editline]
Looking back now, I'm surprised I didn't go batshit insane after that. Really, my brains were so drugged with fear that I was functioning purely on survival instincts
Weird story, but you know what I kind of thouht of while reading that? What if the attic held a time machine? Work with me on this for a second. You said you saw someone go upstairs after you went, that could of been you, several moments BEFORE, and the light turned off and on? That was you turning the lights on before all this. When you woke up all bloody, this was your two selves recombinding after you were sent back forward into time. Its stupid, but soemone else give me a better explaination, i'd like to hear it.
When I was 12, my 3 best friends and my brother were all hanging out one night in my room, playing gamecube and guitar hero. 2005 was awesome. Anyways, we were just playing some Super Smash Bros. when we heard the front door open. At first we thought it was my dad getting home from work, because he tends to get home late at times. Then, I realize that a few hours ago he had gone to bed. Everyone else in the house was a deep sleeper, and we were pulling an all nighter. It's 3:00 AM. We all expel feces in the form of bricks at that moment. We all discuss possibilities in whispers as to how it might be just someone who got up to get some water, or how it's the wind, etc. It wasn't though. We looked through the bottom crack of the door to see a shoe walk through the hallway, and it was a Converse. When we realized that no one who lives here or is in the house has a pair of Converse shoes, we started considering what to do. I had a metal baseball bat, which was an option. But he may have a gun or a knife or something. We also thought about calling the cops, but for some reason I don't remember, we didn't. We decided to wait, and see if there were any other people with him in there. So, anyways, this guy is walking slowly and quietly through the hallway. I'm afraid he might do something to my little sister or dad [paranoia of a 12-year-old], but he didn't. It was like he just wanted to watch us. We knew he was coming into my room, and we all were scared as fuck. We had turned the lights out so he thought we'd be asleep. We all laid down in areas throughout the room so we looked like we were just kids who had a sleepover and passed out. The door opened, and we all closed our eyes. I squinted my eyes, and I looked like I was asleep, but I could see him. He was bald, and had a little 5-o'clock shadow. He looked directly at me. And smiled, like he could tell I was watching him. Then he put his fingers to his lips, and mouthed something, and I wasn't sure what it was, but I'm pretty sure it was "I'll be back" or something. He closed the door, walked away, and I heard the front door shut. My friends and I discussed our views of what we saw, and one said how it seemed like he said something too. Not on of us actually slept that night, and we all were more scared than we had ever been in our entire little lives. 2 Weeks Later, my neighbor had been on the news, because she ran out of the house one night when some guy had come into her home with a knife and a plastic bag. He was arrested, his name was Omar or something, and he was bald, with a 5o'clock shadow. Haunts me to this day.
one time when I was younger, my sister was maybe 3 or 4. We were talking about my grandfather who had died between me & my mom. Anyway, my sister had this toy that helped her learn relatives such as "Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad", etc. So one day, she is playing with it near me while I'm watching tv, my mom was helping her out, and my dad was chillin. So she stops playing with it, then out of no where, you just hear "Grandpa" being replayed over and over again. We tried to stop it, then a few minutes later it went again. Anyway, a little while later, my sister managed to open the dishwasher somehow, grabbed a sharp knife and was running with it. She fell over on the couch, and the knife went like right through the space between her arm and left rib I guess. Barely missed her. Another time, I was home by my self watching tv, then I hear some weird noises. I thought it was my dogs, so I went upstairs and they werent there. W/e, I dismissed it. So as soon as I sit down, I see a black figure at the top of the steps for like a second. Scared the hell out of me.
