Stories of scary/bizzarre things that happened to you

Only "experience" I have with scary stuff is when I once was walking through the cemetary in Pirkkala (a town in Finland, quite a few haunted places here) towards a supposed haunted house, we started hearing sobbing, it was faint, but we kept walking, determined to find out what it was.
Then at one point, it got louder and a crawling-noise accompanied it, at this point we decided to leave, because we were getting creeped out and started being illogical about it.
We came back next night, and it happened again! We searched for the cause, and finally found it. A fucking owl with some kind of throat-damage. It was clear because the owl stopped infront of one of those candles that are on the graves, and it had no feathers on its throat. "Poor thing" we thought.
And the crawling-noise came from it scraping on the graves and gravel as we got closer, I guess it was trying to scare us away.
We were pretty reliefed after we found out it wasn't anything unnatural.
Waking up with sleep paralysis is the worst thing ever. It's a horrible feeling, and if you have a fucked up imagination, you can be damn sure you'll see something creepy.
Sounds fun, in a bad sort of way. I've never had the opportunity to have a full-blown hallucination before.
I'm gonna posts some strange occurrences that have happened in my house. I'll start with ones from when I was younger.
Whenever I was really young, I had this toy tool set (ya know, with the badass drills and saws and stuff?). Every day, when I would get home from the babysitter's house, I would run into my bedroom and hide under that toolset. I really don't remember ever seeing anything, but I would always have to hide "because the ghosts were leaving and they don't like being watched".
I would just sit under there, and I can remember feeling the ghosts pass by, leaving my bathroom and walking through my room to the front door. My mother and father even told me that one day I sat under the set for five house because the "ghosts didn't want to leave". Because I cared so much about not upsetting the ghosts by looking at them, even to this day I don't like being watched, and I have extreme problems with eye contact.
When I was about seven, I was sitting on my parent's desktop in the office (which has one door leading to the living room, and one door at the back leading to my parents bedroom.) Whenever you're using the computer, your back is to my parents' room. I would always shut the door because their room scared me.
Well, I turned around because I heard a noise behind me. The door was open, and in the space I saw a woman, on fire, standing there looking at me. Scared the hell out of me. So, I screamed and ran, but no one was home. And what did I do? I hid under the toolset.
About four years ago, I began seeing this small black shape running around the house. Sometimes I would see it out of the corners of my eyes, just crawling across the floor, sometimes it would sit like a dog and stare at me, sometimes it would chase its bottom, like a dog. The only thing that makes me think it isn't a dog is because it has humanoid arms and legs, is about three feet tall, and has horns.
One night, before I went to bed, I went to turn the heater on. After I got it on and running, I noticed the bathroom light was on, and the door was shut. I debated whether I should turn it off or not, and decided my brother would get it when he got home. I left the room to get a drink of water, and when I came back the heater was off, the bathroom door was open and the light was off.
Then, when I tried to go to sleep, I heard something walking in my bathroom. I jumped up and turned, but there was nothing there. I rolled over, covered my face, and tried to sleep. But then, I heard a noise that sounded like a fingernail running across the bars of the heater, and the fan started to freak out, going faster and slower repeatedly. I turned and looked, and everything stopped.
I laid there, scared senseless, for two hours, until it started again. Then I heard someone walking behind me, breath on my neck, and something hitting the side of my bed repeatedly. It stopped, and fifteen seconds after my phone started going off, playing the chorus of "Behind Closed Doors" by Rise Against repeatedly, which goes like this:
Although we have to obligation to stay alive,
on broken backs we beg for mercy, we will survive.
(Break out!) I won't be left here
Behind closed doors.
And I got no sleep that night.
I hate this house.

Paint your front door red.
Ghosts NEVER enter a house with a red door, it's true.
When I woke up in my parents' bed after an afternoon nap, I realized I'd dreamt of an obese man getting fucked up the ass.
Me and my dad went river camping on the Delaware River this one time.
We paddled down for about 3 hours in our canoe, til we were a good bit past the river side houses. We found us a sizable island in the middle of the river and decided to set up camp. There was a viewable clearing on the island that was reachable by a narrow dirt path that ran straight from the banks, up about 20 feet, and leveled out at the clearing.
We hitched our canoe to a tree down at the bank and dragged our gear up the path and onto the campsite. A few hours pass as we explore the foresty bit of the island, and the sun begins to set. We head back to the clearing and start a fire.
Another hour passes while he drinks beer and I nibble on chips. The sun is gone now. All up to this point has seemed well. With the sun gone, almost all shadows are eliminated, except for those caused by our fire. The now fully illuminated trees surrounding the clearing reveal numerous swastickas engraved (not carved, engraved) into the wood of these trees. There must have been at least a dozen surrounding us. And if that the weren't enough the fire revealed several handfuls of shell casings littering the ground around a stump, all of them lightly dusted with dirt.
We slept ever so lightly that night.
German Submarines traveled down the Delaware river in WW2, maybe they got out and explored?
--Holy fucking SHIT--
I didn't want to sleep for the next 3 days anyway.
I was chilling outside with my friends (10 years old, maybe less)
We started talking about hell and heaven and satan, that kind of stuff.
Then we started telling each other scary stories and we all started to shiver n stuff (not just because of the cold).
And THEN , i looked at the end of the long street and i swear to god, i saw someone with a huge white curtain over his whole body, with his hands up , just walking towards us.

Exactly like this, but without the red eyes.
I live in a country where there are lots of muslim womans who wear burka but believe me, the thing i saw had no eye holes nor anything else.
It was like a huge casper was walking towards us.
So we were scared shitless and ran away.

Yeah, must have been horrifying...
What I saw was totally not a goat.
I've seen many goats.
That was not a goat.
Goats don't walk or run on two legs.
I once woke up in the middle of the night when I was much younger, what I saw was a floating goat/human head with small horns staring at me and saying "Dah".
Well- Once i was at a sleep over and i woke up in the middle of the night.
I was just sitting there when i saw some red eyes glowing out my freinds windows. I was all like 'omfg.. wtf?" i just layed in my sleeping bag staring at the window. then i fell asleep after a while. that was weird.
Then my mom told me when i was a baby- a weird black shadow started to kinda creep over me out of nowhere. She moved me out the room soon after she saw it.
And one other time me and my friend (same friend that i saw the red eyes out his window) we went to a basketball game a while ago in a really old school. we wanted to go explore because we were bored.
So we went to a old locker room- It looked as though it hadn't been touched in years. we walked in- we had heard it was haunted but we didn't believe, so we went in anyway- Needless to say we got about 3- steps into a room, heard a strange eerie noise and ran out. it was weird.
After having recently watched Paranormal Activity, I (being me) obviously had trouble sleeping. I was just about to slip off to sleep when a fairly large box on top of my wardrobe fell off onto the floor. It sounded like a bomb had just gone off and I damn near shat myself. Granted if it was teetering on the edge of the wardrobe I would have shrugged it off and gone back to sleep. But it was right at the back, that really shook me up because I can't think of a reasonable explanation as to why it would fall.
I also hear quite a few creaks throughout the night in general, nothing too spooky but I always end up jumping to paranormal conclusions :'(
My story will scare you guys somewhat I guess.
Ok so, one night, me and 2 of my friends had a sleepover. When we did, we were thinking of what to do all night.
We were bored as hell, so we decided to do something that would scare us. Also, before I go on, I must say I am a big believer in the paranormal. So we decided to go ghost hunting. We looked on different websites and maps to find some cool graveyards and abandoned buildings in our area. We found out that there was a really old cemetery somewhere about 10 miles from where we lived. Now, this cemetery was old and had a lot of scary stories involving people disappearing, to rotting, decaying bodies being found around the outer areas of the cemetery. That night was really rainy, but sort of calmed down after a while.
So, that night, we asked for transport from my friend’s mom. She decided to take us and see if we could get anything interesting. I got my video camera, my charger, some extra memory cards for extra footage, and my cell phone (just in case anything happened). It was one of the most uncomfortable rides I have ever been on. We were all scared out of our minds, but decided to go because we wanted to get great footage, and, if possible, a full body apparition. It took us about 15 minutes to get there. Also, this cemetery was isolated (away) from big buildings and populated areas. Also, behind it are some trees and some other things. When we got there, we all looked at each-other, and our eyes widened like owls. We got out of the car, and began our adventure into the scariest place in our area.
I got out my video camera, and took some film introducing the trip with my friends. I was being a joker at first and scaring my friends, not knowing that later on would be the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
We got the introduction filmed, and walked straight into that cemetery as if we were going to get some type of 300 ct. diamond that was worth a lot of money. We got in and I pulled out my camera. The first 5 minutes of film was boring as hell, and we were debating on weather to leave or not. We decided to stay an extra 15 minutes to see if anything interesting happened. About 10 minutes into the film got interesting. We started to get orbs. Some people believe this as dust, or insects, but this started happening out of nowhere when there was no such thing happening on the camera before. Now, I like to think of orbs as nothing harmful, but really cool things. So we weren’t scared at the sight of the orbs because they are completely harmless.[/FONT
This part is where things got more interesting. We had gotten about 12 minutes of film when we saw a cat. Me and both of my friends practically crapped ourselves when we saw it because it ran so freakin’ fast. But we calmed down after that. So, as we progressed further into the cemetery, you could hear what seemed to be a faint whisper. Not the type you get from wind, but so much like a human whisper. We were scared out of our wits by then. We started to go closer to the car, and all of the sudden, we hear what must have been the most blood-curdling, painful, and deathly scream I have ever heard. It sounded like this:
Then, we booked it. What you are about to hear will make you hate me. Being the clumsy bastard I am, I dropped the camera into the water and my other friend stepped on it. It broke. I screamed. Although I broke a $500 camera, I was still pale as a ghost (no pun intended). So were my friends. We could not go to sleep that night. The next day, we were fussing around on the internet, trying to get the previous night out of our mind, and read a story of a woman that was murdered at the cemetery exactly 3 years. Exact same month, exact same day, and it was in the night time. We then thought it over and came to a conclusion that since most ghosts repeat a cycle of when they were alive, they do it on a day that maybe was important to them, or something that is just a coincidence. So this woman scream seems to be a yearly thing.
I am sorry for no pictures or video. If I had them, I probably would have deleted them right after the incident anyways, since that is the scariest thing that will ever happen to me.
For those of you who didn’t read:
TL;DR: We were bored one night, decided to go to a cemetery, and we heard a woman scream. It turned out, she was murdered 3 years before.
MAYBE SHE CAN DESTROY ROCKETS AND GRENADES IN MIDAIr?
This was only last year, so I was 16, and it wasn't my mind playing on me.
Woke up in the middle of the night, looked up, and a person was floating over my bed, he had short blonde hair and he seemed to look quite shocked, asif he didn't expect me to wake up.
Well me being terrified and having some lovely reflex's, I just froze and hid under my covers, tried telling myself it wasn't real, so the only bit of my body I could loosen up was my legs because I was shaking that bad. I kicked at the figure, as it was the only thing I could think to do, then looked back up expecting it to be gone, so I could just blame it on my mind.
But nooo, the figure was still there, just watching me in a way, pretty much that he wasn't bothered that I had woken up. So I hid under the covers again and fell asleep curled into a ball under the covers, was gone the next morning, I've never been so scared in my life.
I think it was just more of a 'shit how to react in this situation.'

Should a fuckin strangled the gay stalker.....
Well my story starts in June of last year. It's nothing paranormal, but it is still to this day the single scariest night of my life.
It was around 8:00 and me and a few friends decided we were going to have our own little party. The only problem was that we had nowhere to drink in peace, so we decided to sneak into a local park called "The Quarry". It seemed like a great idea at the time, just drinking with friends on a warm summer night watching the reflections of the stars on the water... it seemed like it was gonna be the perfect night. I had no idea how wrong I was going to be.
Well for some background info, that spot at the quarry was somewhat well known in the area by teens looking for somewhere to party, so it was a little sketchy to begin with, but it didn't matter to me because I was the designated driver for the night. (I was driving my friends Rob, Kelly, and Sami)
Sooo after picking up everyone and getting the two bottles of vodka, we pulled up to a neighborhood adjacent to the quarry and parked infront of a house some distance away. (Big mistake). We then sneaked our way to the tree line so no one would see us, and then hacked our way through the thick underbrush all the way to the quarry. (about 300 meters, heres a map for reference of the area)

and a pic of the quarry itself from that night... (the rock slopes really steep for like 60 feet to the water)
The red circle is approximately where I parked, and the blue circle is where we wanted to be. We entered the park right by the yellow lines. So anyway after chilling for about an hour, Kelly had to take a piss. She teetered her way over to some bushes, then after doing her business, she came SPRINTING back over to us, saying she heard someone in the bushes. She thought it was a cop sneaking around looking for us, so I just told her shes being paranoid and that it was probably just the wind. So we go back to having a good time. Then like 20 minutes later she had to go again (broke the seal) but was too scared to go alone, so I go with her. At first there was nothing, so i started making fun of her for being scared. Then suddenly we both heard the crack of a twig breaking behind us, we turn and see nothing, but I knew something/someone was there, I could just tell. so we hurry back to the rocks and sit back down, both sketched out of our minds. But we soon relaxed and started having a good time again.
About ten minutes later, we hear worst possible sound we could hear. Sirens. SHIT. Were gonna get busted. Then it hit me that It was a firetruck or ambulance, and was also pretty far away. Relief hit me like a brick, and we all started laughing.
After about 15 seconds, the siren shut off abruptly, and the entire quarry filled with howls. There must have been 50 coyotes all howling in unison. But one howl stuck out from the rest. it was coming from the bush we were in earlier, about 15 feet away. I shit more bricks than the entire lego factory would make in a year. I had to get out of there.
The only problem was that I was the only sober one in the bunch , and I had to lead the other three back to my car through the pitch black underbrush. Luckly Rob and Kelly weren't that drunk, and could still run. Sami was a totally different story. Sami couldnt even get up. I quickly throw whats left of the vodka into the lake, pick up Sami, and start running. (she is borderline midget so it was easy). I set her down under a tree right by the corner of the park near the road where we entered(yellow lines). Rob stayed with her, while me and Kelly booked it to the car.
I creeped up the street in my car, Looked down the street to the left, and my heart sank. There was a squad car parked right where I had left Sami and Rob. Kelly was Screaming "Drive away! Just leave them!", but i couldnt just do that, I HAD to do something. So I pulled into the nearest driveway and threw it in park, and jumped out of my car. Just when I turned around, I saw Rob sprinting out from under the trees with sami on his back. He ran the entire block faster than I thought humanly possible. We all quickly jumped in, and i drove back towards where I was parked originally. I took one quick last look at the squad car before i lost sight of it, and saw two flashlights near the car, but it was too late, we were already gone. We then went to mcdonalds.
Thats my story
TLDR: I was cockblocked by coyotes.

Something that happened to me just last night. I usually end up zoning out whilst reading in bed before going to sleep, and this time was no different. Then all of a sudden some sort of voice said "Dad!" in like a gasp/inward breathing kind of way and I jumped awake, it was really weird, like someone sniffing really loud but I distinctly heard something along the lines of Dad which freaked me out somewhat.
Also sleep paralysis is a really bad experience, you're sort of awake and wanting to wake up but just can't. I've found that attempting to move your limbs usually jolts you awake though.

I've experienced that. It's a nightmare. :ohdear:
Didn't sleep for 3 days.
Went to get a drink from the fridge, as I closed the fridge door I heard laughter come from inside it.
But yeah I was really tired and shit which explains it.
I heard someone knocking at my window last night. I live five stories up. :ohdear:

Age has nothing to do with it. If anything, those who are of a younger age are said to be more likely to experience anything paranormal.
I'm not sure if I believe in a lot of this paranormal stuff, but it all makes very good reading!
Some crazy stuff's happened to me before though.
This happens to me a lot of the time, more so when I'm lying in bed trying to get to sleep. It doesn't matter what I'm thinking of, but sometimes I get this VERY strong sense that I need to be somewhere, and I sometimes "hear" (put in quotes because I don't actually hear it, it's more a feeling in my mind) people saying my name, asking me to go. It's freaky
Alright I've got a few stories....
Salute from a Past Life?

I have had a few paranormal experiences in the apartment my family ,and I live in.... Usually stuff would happen during the night so I've pretty much would already shake it off as paranormal ,and get back to whatever I would be doing at the time. On the other hand, this was probably the highest paranormal incident of my time living in Arizona.
The story goes like this. It was an average day in my household. My family had made buffalo wings ,and we were all enjoying The Phantom of the Opera. Usually, I get bored real easy ,and I love having a quick snack during a movie...So, I went to the kitchen to grab the buffalo wings from the fridge ,and as I was bending down to pick them up from the lower shelf something caught my eye... A very young man wearing a tan uniform was standing to my left. Now, at first this guy looked like my brother-in-law Chris ,but it became obvious it wasn't when he turned to face me. This man's face looked eerily like mine with a more grim and broad tone. At first, I stood there for like a minute ,but something in my mind told me to stand straight ,and salute... I don't know why ,but I did. The next thing I know the man saluted me back ,and walked through the window slowly disappearing. With this I picked up my chicken wings, closed the fridge ,and went back to the couch ,and attempted to become less stunned from what had just happened. My mom confronted me ,and asked, "Did you see something as well?". I went pale white. My sister and Chris took us to separate rooms and asked us what we had saw... I easily gave a full description ,and my mom gave her side face view description. When they discussed what we had seen they perfectly fit together. The next few days followed up with similar events till I got the first name of the man which was Andrew. After about a week it all stopped.
Saved by a Colonial.
This happened when I was about five. I had begun too get really well at swimming ,and I was constantly in the water. One day though... That would all change. It was a calm June afternoon in Hamburg,NY. I was doing some laps around the 3ft side of the pool ,and was moderately enjoying myself. I began to relax on my back on the water then.. Then my life was altered forever. Some one did a cannonball into the 6ft which made a giant wave in the 3ft, and at the time I was unlucky cause I wasn't wearing any form of floats. A giant wave crashed into me ,and I was sent to the 5ft side of the pool almost all of the wind knocked out of me ,and I slowly had begun to drown. After about a minute under it would of seemed I was already dead... Then something happened, I saw an old lady in a colonial dress step near the side where I was ,and she grabbed my arms ,and lifted me up from the depths and brought me up just enough so I could grab a deep breath ,and get out of the pool ,and pass out on the stair line. After, ten minutes of CPR I woke up coughing out the last droplets of water in my lungs only to ask, "Where is that old lady? I have to thank her." everyone looked dumb-founded ,and the lifeguard responded, "Sweetheart... Their was never an old lady in the pool area."
This was the first paranormal experience of my entire life. It did two things to me... One I never was able to swim again till I was 11. (I feared pools for a very long ass time)
Two.... It started my quest to search for things paranormal ,and made me learn astral projection.
I don't know if you were just making those up, but I had an experience almost exactly like the first one you listed.
I was at work when a man came in the front doors. Like your guy, he looked like he was closely related to me and was wearing a navy cap and uniform. He came up to the counter and looked at me, nodded, smiled, and left, but not before I'd memorized his description. After the store I work at was about to close, I asked to see the security footage for it, and was allowed to when I said I'd seen a suspicious person. The man didn't show up on the camera. Nobody else in my family has ever looked like me.
No
I later found out the man's name was Sam Beckett. He'd been in the Navy and was killed by the explosion of the ship he was on in the year 1935, at age 30-my age. Incidentally, my last name is Beckett, and I'm shipping out in August. :tinfoil:

Is this gonna become a regular thing with past lives?
I woked up, middle of the night, my room flashed white and then it returned normal..
I have recurring out-of-body-experience, it's only happened twice, and the time period for both was about 6 months between.
It starts with me waking up in my bed and going into my kitchen to get myself a glass of water. So that's all fine, I get my water and head back to my room. I get there and I stop in my doorway and look at my bed. When I do, I see myself sleeping.
Both times this has happened it has freaked me the fuck out.
Well, I don't know if this fits in with the genre, but I shit myself when it happened, anyways, I was walking down the street walking my dog, and then two kids ran straight off a field, next to me, one of them went to my school, but the other didn't and had a huge cut across his face, then like 3 seconds after, a green little car came speeding off a field and chased after them, one of them hopped out, and chased them with a knife, and then a group of fifty kids came of the fields with allsorts of shit and weapons, chasing them. Might not sound scary, but if you were next to them, you'd be worried.
