• D&D Addiction problems

D&D is typically something that is scheduled on a week-to-week basis. You can't just call it off at the last minute without pissing your group off. If he (And you) were smart, he (Or you) would do his best to accommodate his (Or your) plans so that they work for everyone. EDIT: So after reading the thread like I probably should have before posting, I realize that this kid is batshit insane. As a D&D player myself, I don't see how playing that often can even be fun. I play two groups and even that gets tiresome eventually. The problem may be with him or his group. I'd recommend trying to get some help for the poor guy.

Also, it's difficult to schedule sonething (believe me, I've tried) when he's in a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday campaign. The one thing I do know is that he would hate for people at our school to know about his hobby, but I would feel like a huge asshole if I told people about it, even though it migrate get him to stop. [editline]06:11AM[/editline] I meant might get instead if migrate, can't scroll on an iTouch.
Some what related? :v: Completely on topic though, wait until it gets really bad, then while he's working on D&D, walk over to him, throw the board across the room, punch him square in the nose, get a mirror, and show him what he's become. Then, at that point he should be in shock (considering he got punched unexpectedly, and was then shown what he looks like). Then, show him something like, an old report card, something to remind him of what he wanted to be, what he used to be. Then, ask him if he wants your help. If he says no, then there's nothing you can do for him. If he's smart, he'll say yes, and let you take all his D&D stuff with you, don't actually take it with you, just give it to his mom, she'll know what to do with it.
Go find less faggy friends
Stop being such a jealous dick. Let him have fun. DnD is some sick shit when you play with people you like, or turn it in to a drinking game. Who are you to say he's addicted, and even if it is let him find out for himself what it will do to him.
Jealous dick? On his birthday? Sounds pretty lame if he picks some gay ass board game over a friend's birthday party.
D&D is typically something that is scheduled on a week-to-week basis. "Oh I'm gonna reschedule my birthday party so that you can play a game of DnD with yer faggy friends." Accommodate my ass, it's not like he change the day he was fucking born.
how the fuck can you get that addicted to a board game? Sure the bullshit fights drag on forever with shitty rolls but is it REALLY that hard to put the character sheet down and go outside or are you willing to murder anyone who dare touch your board layout? Also, 11 hours can equate to two main battles. The sucks and has sucked since it was revised for the second time. There's a reason Gary died: He didn't want to be associated with the game anymore.
the fun is in killing other players. you must infiltrate his game and when the time is right fucking screw over the campaign. then you shall know the feeling of true joy
That guy actually sounds quite terrifying :ohdear:
Say you'll have D&D at your party
To lure him in.
To lure him in.
Then rape him :q:
I didn't know it was possible to be addicted to a board game.
I've always wanted to try the game but only when either drunk or doped up.
The only reason that I'm still friends with him is that we've been friends for a good five years so far and this started while I was away for a month during the summer. I do like the idea of joining a campaign with him and killing him, then maybe committing suicide though.
People still play D&D?
It's a classic!

And besides, it's not like "accomodate for everyone" means "cancel everything." If it's that big of a deal to you you could just have two parties. No need to flip your shit, dude.
Fuckin' nerds, man.

I ended up having him over along with another friend later, but it wasn't the same.
i want to learn to play D&D how do i learn?
Tell him D&D is lame, and he should come make friends with people away from D&D. He'll enjoy it.
Tell him D&D is lame, and he should come make friends with people away from D&D. He'll enjoy it.
That was what I tried first.
Is he incredibly pale?
People still play D&D?
Pen-and-paper role-playing games > computer role-playing games. More socialable than sitting in a dark room alone staring at a computer screen, and PnP RPGs are generally limitless. Protip: the game probably isn't the cause of his problem. More like a sign.
Burn all of his character sheets.

20 hours a week is not a problem.
20 hours a week is not a problem.
I think the time in the OP is a very rough guess.
That's an addiction. Solve the problem just like you'd solve a drug addiction.
I envy your friend, the closest I got to D&D is the online video game... And leave him alone, you would enjoy it if a fatass asks you to come to his lame birthday party where there will be 12 equally fat guys and no girls while you could be enjoying something more imaginative, fun and social? Go get another friend if you'r so much of a plain person that a game with strangers is funnier than you.

It was a great and imaginative party that did indeed include girls. I have no need to refute the rest of your claims. [editline]03:16AM[/editline] Lastly, when I think fun, imaginative, and social, D&D isn't the first thing that comes to mind
