Perception of Time.

Top right image is perfect, it's dark and dreary and malevolent and a bit swampy and just has powerful atmosphere. The others I like as well but it's that one that totally grabs me.

I feel dizzy. Good job.
A study from my town. I never realized we have such awesome streetlights.

I've been working on a comic for a while. I've drawn literally thousands of them since I was about 4 years old, all the same style - black line pen on white A4 paper, I never color - so I came up with a story and am illustrating it. There might be some anatomy and perspective problems, but I don't really mind that much. I'm not going for realism at all.
These are a few examples, I think the way I draw it gives a dark and sort of noir atmosphere and really suits the kind of narrative I'm going for.
I'll probably post a few pages of it once I'm at a good point with the story, what do you think?

Are these supposed to be a set of panels in order?
They are a bit disjointed, making the action reading a bit hard.

not in order, I forgot to point that out.

Reminds me of Sword & Sworcery.
Critique my anatomy, be as hard on me as humanly possible. Pull no punches, I want to get better.

His left shoulder seems non-existent. His left arm is too short. What's going on with his ribcage? Unless those are fabric folds. I'm gonna assume the right arm is pointing at us and why it's short?
Imo, I think his body should be lower with his legs bending more.
Seems like you free drew him. Start off with simple shapes and then draw in a more detailed revision, it'll help out your anatomy.
Also use smaller brushes
Hadn't drawn in like a month so I drew this straight up baller

character design in gouache

Did some portrait practice, I need to get a bigger screen to get my canvas and the picture i'm working on in at the same time.
Anyway, about 2-5 minutes a piece. Didn't really time myself but based on the amount of songs I hear while working on each :v: I tried not to erase, other than where I really need to or to clear out a couple of my planning lines where I could.

Your formatting is kinda fucked, is that how plays are actually formatted?
Edit:
Some of the reactions are a touch unrealistic to me but overall this is quite the masterpiece you've got, excellent work.

there are a handful of different formats you can use for plays
however, is the format i've chosen correct for the genre/type of play i have?
i have no clue, but it's called Dramatist's Guild Modern Stageplay (on final draft 8) so i think it's right
thanks though, i'm trying to make it as authentic as possible, what reactions are unrealistic?
Often I feel like the child is underreacting to the mother's verbal abuse, although I don't know how old they are exactly, given that you've established the kid isn't mentally in 'survival' mode, I feel like they'd receive that kind of thing much more severely.

Okay an exercise for you in this painting;
push the sand to a real nice yellow, and push those rocks as red as red can be. Don't worry too much about photorealism - make it a hyper-colourful interpretation of the world. That blimp should be made of really colourful patchwork, like a children's quilt. Pump the saturation up. Give those guys in the foreground really nice colourful dressing gowns.
It's just an exercise to make you push your colours as far as you can. It'll be uncomfortable for you and it might not turn out beautiful - you need to tell yourself it's alright to fail. Treat it as an experiment. Keep your strokes loose. Don't think 'oh I have to show this on FP when it's done'. Just take a breath and have a play.

[editline]12th April 2013[/editline]
honestly just go nuts
It's what I had to do to break out of my muddiness and low-saturation
Also what monitor are you using?
I don't know I'll look in the morning, using my phone for now.
I've been meaning to do some work with colours but other stuff took precedence. I'm not going to change the design of anything but I agree that some serious pushing of colour would help.
haha did another one for the hell of it

So here's my first painting from a series of 10 space related ones I'll have to finish by Math 10th (i'll post a better quality later cause you can't really see the textures and details on this one). It's a 30"x30" oil painting done with relatively large brushes and pallet knife which I've never tried before (I even stretched the canvas myself). Took about 5 days. I'll be doing the moon, mars, venus, and mercury (all to scale), and then the space station, space shuttle, astronaut, voyager 1, and a space nebula. I have like 3 days per painting so hopefully I finish on time hah
