Nothing serious this time. 10 minute freestyle doodle of an eye that I did while I was watching TV. Took a pic with my phone and blotched some color and contrast on in Photoshop.

Is there anybody here who does sculpture or works with clay? I'd really like to try my hand at it, but I don't know much of anything about actually using the medium, or what kind of tools I'd need, or really anything at all! I took several figure study classes, and learned to love drawing portraits (especially once I'd started to get a sense for the proportions and could work from imagination a bit easier), but I'm not terribly good at drawing, and I'm not interested enough in drawing to really commit to it. I've always worked better with 3D mediums than 2D ones-- they're just easier for me to wrap my head around! So I'd like to take it to clay.
It sounds like a lot of fun, learning how to sculpt busts. I've been watching videos of people making clay sculptures recently, and it's pretty interesting to see how they shape and work with the material. I was hoping some folks here might have a few suggestions on the subject?
I really miss my tablet, as i lost the pen for it. Pens are so expensive there's no point in buying them here.
Store closes in a couple of hours, should i go there and buy a bamboo or similar?
Buy one on amazon, it's probably cheaper than most stores

I don't have much experience with clay and other real materials, but you could always try zbrush. This was my first model in zbrush and it's a cup holder of sorts. The version below is the printed one.

It wasn't very hard to grasp the basic tools but I never worked again with it since I work more with very low-poly modeling.
Progress

It feels odd to me. What am I doing wrong?
Buy one on amazon, it's probably cheaper than most stores
fair enough, it is.
which one should i buy though? i had some kind of small bamboo touch before
For a beginner/amateur, I'd recommend the regular Bamboo Pen and Touch.
I say Pen and Touch not because it has the Touch, but because it has the side-buttons, which prove to be very useful.
If you want a step up from that size-wise, take a gander at the Bamboo Fun, or a small Intuos tablet if you really need something that's gonna last throughout your career.
I use the Bamboo Splash
It comes with some nifty drawing software

I can't get better at drawing so no career for me.
I just want something big i guess, i hate those small tablets.
If you need a big tablet, but don't want to splash out for a high-end Intuos, take a look Monoprice's Tablets. I hear they're quite good for the money.

Isn't that a US company? The import fees will completely destroy the purpose.

Keep the darkness and ambiguity but have it a bit more visceral so it still grabs the viewer

Get in touch with Frictional!

Comparing them I may have bumped the reds too much but you get the gist of it
Made a bit of progress this time, anyone got tips for 2d rendering non-organic stuff?
My work always looks like a fuckin fresco painting by the time I'm done with it.

I like mine more in this case i have to admit. Mine looks more wretched, The red as you said doesnt really work.
But i do like the way some of the features stand out more in yours.

I bought that same one and had it shipped to Sweden, keeping import fees and shipping fees in mind the total was about 1500kr which is still a really good price for a tablet of that size
Stock looks like it would be painful to shoot.
