It dies, slowly, colours don't fade to elegant grey in memory, they conform under the crumbling decomposing mess of perspective and hindsight to shards of black. If there was something to blame, energy and anger could be spent destroying and making it retch, but there's no fault, no one to blame, like a bow fired without an arrow the forces tear apart inside as they dissipate through disappointment and inconsolable longing for the opportunity of a choice already spent.

Is this just a 3d model rendered from the side, or did you already start it as a 2d image?
Looks cool :D

I'd put it on a lighter background - all those dark bits on the gun are getting a bit lost in that blackness!
Working on that actually, thanks guys!

Up until now, it's still hard to believe that you draw all of your stuff with a mouse.
Crazy hand control skills.

NO, STALKER, NO! No using computer post-processing on traditional media! NO!
Reason: If you use post-processing to hide your errors, you will most likely not learn from them. Let your images be like they are, upload them like they are. See what's wrong and try to not make that mistake in your next drawing. You're only allowed to adjust levels to make if the photo/scan doesn't look contrasting enough, but don't overdo it.
It's like making your body progress pics when workouting and then photoshopping yourself to be buff in every picture.
I wish I had a scanner.
Also, I wanted to have near-black values, which is impossible with my current pencils (8B, they don't have 9B or Charcoal here) and the paper was already bent. Really couldn't do anything or else the paper would rip itself apart :v:
And by post-process, you mean adjusting values and adding colors/paint-over?

Oh. Well yeah. This is what I only did. I still don't know at which level it will be considered "overdo". I just adjusted it until it pleases my eyes.

A4 paper (folded A3); 2B , 6B and 8B pencil; smudge sticks (3 sizes); and an eraser.
Believe it or not, it's up to you guys to decide.
I should ask, is this thread purely for drawings and similar art, or can I post pieces of writing on here as well?

You can post writings.

Writing this in a friendly tone, no offence intended.
>Also, I wanted to have near-black values, which is impossible with my current pencils (8B, they don't have 9B or Charcoal here)
Invest into good drawing paper, sharpen pencils every minute or two. Go through in several layers using medium pressure, rather than one or two layers while pressing hard. This was done using B3. (In fact, I haven't used anything higher than B3 for a long time).

(This wasn't meant to be pure black, but I could if I wanted to)
>And by post-process, you mean adjusting values and adding colors/paint-over?
Yes. You adjust values to make it look exactly how you see it on paper, not to enhance it. If on paper you have bad contrast, fix it in the next drawing, not in photoshop. No shame in that, we are all learning here. Show us your fails. Don't even think of taking a brush and painting over some areas to make them more dark or light, or add muzzle-flashes and stuff like that. With all due respect for you, it just looks really ugly.
>A4 paper (folded A3); 2B , 6B and 8B pencil; smudge sticks (3 sizes); and an eraser.
Don't smudge at all until you learn how to properly do shading/gradient with cross hatching. Smudging is only used to enhance already good shading/gradient, not to fix a bad one.

Yep, roger that.
