Personally, I'd say that deserved a thread.
Ok serious work time I made a comic for Shen. "lucky" on Facepunch if you know him. (Cross-posting from the Digital 3D Art thread because I don't know where to look) Does anyone know if there's a thread for digital-to-physical propmaking or something, like with 3D printing or Pepakura? Right now I'm making a helmet in Sketchup to print out in Pepakura and I don't know where to post for feedback. I would post it here, but this thread seems to be more for 2D art.
Alien vs monster. Up to the viewer to decide which is the hunted one. Took around 7 hours in CS6. And no, it is not hentai tentacles.
Idk if you just rendered out your focal points and left the rest (as you have done previously to great effect, e.g that zombie before) or if you just got lazy, but I don't really feel it working in this piece (see: the tentacles as someone said, the legs, the sketch of the gun coming through clearly, the rather 2D icepick, that black outline on his side). The light source is a tad confusing, also the comp is uncomfortably tight The movement you have is great though, really feeling the wind whipping those icy raindrops around.

I'm making my first ever digital painting Look at dem red lines. I'm using a mouse because my brother sold my Wacom tablet (so I can buy a graphics card) Don't worry though, I made the rest of the face, though I've only completed the eyes. Don't mind the shitty background please. Original image Blaze me with your professional artistic opinions!

You will find it hard to improve doing this.. I say you are doing this by looking at the lines and how you are doing this super refined piece by piece without blocking the overall values. (Some artists do choose to do refined pieces by pieces in traditional media, but they also have a much stronger line base usually) I recommend to not pick colors so you can learn values and colors, and you should definitely not trace either. Take a look at some step-by-step process of a good artist and learn how they do it.
This is just me finishing something I started about a year ago actually. I kinda wanted it off my plate so I could try something new. I'm still a complete novice to Photoshop illustration so I'm trying to learn how to do cleaner stuff. The only part of this I'm proud of because it's not all blurry and messy is the mouth. I think I really nailed the mouth.
I took what you said into account, and it's true. Any artists/websites/tutorials you recommend?
It really depends on what you prefer and like to do.. For inspiration I love cghub, but you also conceptart forums which are great for various types of resources. As for tutorials, there are tons of resources, no tutorial will give you a magical technical that makes your drawings awesome. It takes practice, and at first most works will suck. What tutorials can give you is techniques on how to approach problems, which are quite useful but you need to practice. In terms of general techniques, there 2 very common approaches to drawing that I can think of, there's the classic with a semi-detailed and refined lineart: [t]http://i.imgur.com/secaee7.jpg[/t] And another which starts by blocking values and no lineart is used: [t]http://i.imgur.com/FMcahQJ.jpg[/t] Either have its ups and downs, and you can learn more about them on your own. I do recommend Loomis if you want to be a good artist and don't have the basics yet. It can be tiresome but it's very valuable information. Another resource I can recommend for those who are interested in getting things done and not exactly worry the small details (e.g. concept art for games) is FZDSCHOOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmff8bBCYW4. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline]
http://androidarts.com/art_tut.htm
This resource is an absolute classic and very good too, you can start here since it's very brief but in the end you get a good idea of various concepts.
