I'm probably going to change the way the soldier is sitting slightly
This reminds me of two things. "Man After Man" and Fallout.

Looks like you're only using one colour at a time in tints and shades (the monster thing being the most noticeable since its the biggest area of colour)
Light sources lend their own colour to the objects they fall on
Also it looks like a design for a figurine or something, purposefully stiff and static (and made of plastic or something. The chest and abs are particularly unconvincing)

it's been a while since I've posted here. I'm trying to practice on landscapes on graphite. caves to be exact. should I make it darker in the inner parts of it?

Contrast.

Add it.
so, more on the back than just the stalagtites/mites?
Do some photostudies to get accustomed to a fuller value range
In a cave you're likely to be seeing mostly black I should think, which makes it a subject not entirely suited to pencil

You mean this, right?

I dunno if they intended it that way, but yeah, it looks similar :v:
More developed version of that shitty thing I posted before

I meant more along the concept of mutating humans for a purpose, like early in the book before humanity united they could have had gene spliced soldiers.

I'm doing all 102.
I've been starting to get into concept art to help me with my models

Now that I look at it I think the wood could use a bit more shadowing and contrast though.
Crits appreciated

It certainly has character! The wood especially, I love stuff that looks like this, but yeh as you said just keep working on enhancing your contrast. Try and reflect the quality of real wood more accurately in your style as well, that would make it look better.
Tried pixel art for the first time.

Way, way, WAY more colors than necessary, and the outline is messy. One of the great boons of pixel art is that it teaches color conservation.

Something WIP with low quality resizing

Snip
It feels like the environment is more of the star of the piece than the robot.
I would suggest moving the composition around a bit, maybe even doing something as simple as moving the subject to the left so it stands in front of the light emitting windows and the lines of the wall go toward it. It would draw much more attention that way.
Made these today while bored.

I got a notebook the other day to jot down story ideas. It was a plain, black hardcover notebook that would fit in my pockets. Nothing too special about it... Until my fiance (or as she prefers to be called, my First Sergeant) decided to make it fucking awesome for me.

The symbol is the Crimson King's Eye from my favorite series of books, The Dark Tower.
