looking good salmonmarine, but just a head's up; that guy's right hand should be resting against his cheek, right by the corner of his mouth (on the side we can't see obviously) not waving out in the middle of nowhere with the string. It should look more like he's actually aiming down the arrow then too. Oh and the arrow should be crossing over to this side of the bow at the point and resting on top of his hand or it'd slide off (he should probably have a glove on too, feathers can cut pretty bad)
oh just noticed also, his left hand looks like it's holding something wider than the bow is, and his right hand should be side-on too, he looks like he's about to punch that arrow out of the bow atm :p

I put that on /r/archery and got tons of upvotes, but sooooooo much crit about posture and all that
I mean, I own a bow and enjoy archery and there's a lot to be said for getting technical details right but holy shit let me paint a fucking picture okay

Also sorry for the large size but I was working on casual outfits for my characters, starting with my favorite, Lo.

He is super close with his elder brother and sees him as a role model, so I wanted to further that by making Lo want to dress like him.

Art really is so hard. Seeing style improve is at least satisfying, especially in how one draws himself.

Coincidence that you posted a comparison, I did one a couple of days ago for a friend of mine after she was wondering how i drew way back when.
What was that trick to set up Photoshop so that it displays images as it would on all computers or something like that? I'm on my laptop and realized if I have my brightness lower it makes everything look different and even if the brightness is on max it looks different than it does on my computer. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I hate it when I have an image that looks great to me here and then I look at it from another computer and its different than I thought it would be. For example everything looks a lot more saturated on my desktop
Since we are posting comparisons, this is how I evolved in the year I started drawing/painting, top left is my very first painting, top right the last one.
Cool to see the progress, would like to see more from other guys here.

The only thing you can do to ensure the most similar look is to make sure you produce and watch your images in the same color profile.
Every monitor is different and there is nothing you can do about that. Some monitors are more saturated, some monitors can only show the colours in the sRGB spectrum, some monitors can show more colours than the Adobe RGB spectrum, some monitors are more red, some are more blue.
Etc etc etc. I have two identical monitors bought together, and they display colour differently, even after colour calibration with the Spyd3r. The left monitor is more warm, orangy and the right monitor is more cold, purpely.
I'm guessing the fact that the image looks a lot darker and contrasted on my computer might be cause it's just an older shitty monitor. What ICC Profile do you recommend I use then? I'm using sRGB IEC61966 for my monitor and photoshop now
Also two paintings

I designed a modernish house, but it looks very bland.
What elements can I add and improve to make it more 'alive'?

Look at some real houses and pay attention to the details, you can even try to mimic a house and you will notice a lot of details when you are drawing.
An unrelated issue that I have with that picture is the perspective, it's really unflattering/weird.

I like that picture in the bottom right. It has a nice flow, and this sloped horizon and perspective make an interesting composition. It also looks a bit surrealistic which is cool.
As for my progress, it looks more like a regress for me, so I think i'd better just watch for you guys.
I always come into this thread to post my 'art.' Then I see some of the other posts people have made here showcasing their amazing talent. Then I realise I'd just clog up the thread with my garbage.
Godspeed, you wonderful people. Don't stop making these.

Art is subjective and the variety of styles, medium and general perception of it is what makes it great.
Post art please.

Don't worry about "talent" personally i don't think talent exists just practice and encouragement,
you should post your art, because if you're really worried, people here can help you with your art and atleast you'll feel encouraged to do more art if you recieve postive ratings and you'll improve over time regardless

Will definitely look into it, this is the first time we are doing animations and that cycle was the first to be done. We are also discussing a change in speed and a change in the camera in sections with no monsters(like that one).
