Thumbnail doodle (the writing reads "Fucking Taggers" in slovenian)
I drew this for my upcoming internship. i am planning to draw more of these building and animate them. with a flag or somthing :/ How i want to make the build animation. brick for brick :P critique and thoughts are more than welcome
Everything is a bit muddy and oversaturated, and the shadows are too soft (as though you painted those bits the same and then went over them with a big black airbrush) The stairs are pretty weak and jarring in terms of scale and perspective I think I would like to see a tad more detail on the ground too Overall though they look fairly nice
another thumbnail doodle [editline]8th September 2013[/editline] trying out an aggressive ship design
Dunno how I feel about this I think I feel that it's a bit shit But anyway
Dunno how I feel about this I think I feel that it's a bit shit But anyway
add a high tone and highlights and I think it could look quite nice
Dunno how I feel about this I think I feel that it's a bit shit But anyway
Is that digital or physical? I think the criticism that I got ages ago (I think from you even haha) stands true here; -Textured brushes need to be used with care and when necessary, not for every stroke -References -Understanding why references are the way they are (for instance, I'd say the ocean is far too dark given the very shallow angle that the light from the blue sky is hitting it - it would reflect the light blue far more than it is) -Interest; at the moment there's nothing to really focus on or draw us in -not enough titties
Hah, it's an acrylic underpainting which I didn't have time to finish properly so I scanned it and cleaned it up digitally and added a couple of things So yeah it's no wonder it feels like it's missing something now that I think of it, I need to finish the physical thing :v: And since I did that, I kind of had to use textured brushes to it wasn't too jarring between the two mediums. As for it being a dull piece, it was just a quickie to see if I liked acrylic any better than the first time I tried it and hated it. The answer is definitely yes! But I don't see myself doing more traditional painting anytime soon tbh, it's such a bother making space and getting all the paints out and everything. I find that sort of thing exhausting Cheers mal
..cleaned it up digitally and added a couple of things..
If J.F. Chist was still here haha
i'm really confused, what's the difference between the standard Intuos Pen and Touch and the Intuos Manga? from what i can see they've just slapped 'manga' on and bumped the price up, what could actually make it better for drawing manga at all? and why is the pen and touch intuos £40 more expensive than the pen when the pricing was way smaller when it was bamboo?
what is that company called that has been getting attention lately that makes products supposedly as good as wacom but for half the price? i want one. i don't trust wacom anymore
Monoprice?
monoprice are good, but hard to find outside of us markets
I keep hearing about the Yiynova MSP19U, which has gotten some pretty good reviews lately.
i'm really confused, what's the difference between the standard Intuos Pen and Touch and the Intuos Manga? from what i can see they've just slapped 'manga' on and bumped the price up, what could actually make it better for drawing manga at all? and why is the pen and touch intuos £40 more expensive than the pen when the pricing was way smaller when it was bamboo?
Seems like they included additional software in the manga bundle (Manga Studio Debut 4 and Anime Studio Debut 8). http://www.macworld.com/article/2048...tuos-line.html Also the pen and touch expense probably comes from adding additional features to more sensitive hardware, I believe the intuos has higher pressure sensitivity than the bamboo. Or wacom just likes money...
i don't know any artist that actually uses those dedicated pieces of software. it all seems to be sai + photoshop these days
Yeah I'm a Sai guy myself, but I can see $100 being tantalizing for anyone interested in trying digi art. Come to think of it it's probably a good deal for anyone who wants to get legitimate software licenses too.
wip
It's an interesting piece with good brush work, you should really refine those ants though :v: they clash with the rest of the piece.
i don't know any artist that actually uses those dedicated pieces of software. it all seems to be sai + photoshop these days
Manga Studio is pretty great for lineart though

The yiyinova msp19u is really great. (the one i'm using) Wacom just overcharges because of market control.
It's an interesting piece with good brush work, you should really refine those ants though :v: they clash with the rest of the piece.
Yeah, I was thinking of replacing them with something else, so I scribbled down a design
Yeah, I was thinking of replacing them with something else, so I scribbled down a design
That may work better yeah, I personally prefer the version on the right.
Manga Studio is pretty great for lineart though
I think paper is the best place to do lineart personally
so drawmokie.tumblr.com told me to draw mokie and i did was i just signed into a cult or something
Fuck me. I have been so incredibly lazy this summer, and I havent drawn shit. The stuff that I have drawn has been mostly shitty. For some reason drawing is just easier to get in to at 4 in the morning. All I want to do during the day is nothing. Whatever, here are some doodles that are really just exploratory things into creating some new little brushes for myself. Also, opacity based blending which creates color blending similar to real paints. Stuff like blue + red = purple and whatnot.
