Done with three Prismacolor hard charcoal pencils and two compressed charcoal sticks for the main black shading surrounding the sphere. Critique will be on Wednesday for it.
I thought this was some kind of paper sculpture or something.. it feels so 3D. The lightning is amazing.

wait, wasn't the disorganiser voice operated anyway?
i have over 50 pieces of concept art for this game i'm working on (as a concept artist). yay!
I had this brilliant idea of doing another "free commision round".
I'd link the images but there's 172 (of 281) of them.

I didn't learn from the other two times.
I just finished another charcoal drawing, this time it's 32x32", total time was something like 25-28 hours of work judging by my progress I made through my audiobooks of The Fall of Hyperion and Endymion (Hyperion Cantos series) that I listened to exclusively while working on it.

If you sold this as a t-shirt I would totally get it.

Lightning is pretty impressive. It's one of nature's most powerful forces.

Didn't think about that! Could actually make a cool shirt/print.
Can someone help me figure something out? This has been driving me crazy for the past few days. I usually do most of my work on my Vaio Laptop (Intel HD 4000 GPU) and I keep the color profile on sRGB. I've recently started doing a lot more work on my school's iMacs (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX) and I've noticed a big difference between images made on one vs the other. I would assume the Mac has a better color range and display, so I should start going off of what I see on the mac.
To be more exact this one that I made on my laptop.

It looks extremely over saturated and dark on the mac. Basically I've discovered it's because of the default Gamma settings on the two computers. The iMac uses 2.2 and my computer, I can only assume, uses 1.8. I've edited the image in Photoshop on the Mac to make it look like it does on my laptop. I'm gonna have to see how it looks on my laptop later, but I think this is close.

So I'm wondering, which of the images looks better? It should be an obvious difference. Also tell me what system you're using and what your color profile settings are please. It would really help me figure this out a lot. This basically throws off my entire work flow and I can only assume the laptop is what's "wrong", so the bottom image should be the correct choice to work with.
lower one looks nicer
i'm not sure how to tell you my monitor colour profile settings though
[editline]30th September 2013[/editline]
oh it's at sRGB, 0 gamma (or default idk what that is)
The default settings on any mac always make things really contrasty and over saturated
Mac's use a different gamma setting by default.
I think it's all about the monitor and photoshop colour profiles you use rather than the video card.
The gamma and white point settings are usually the biggest factor from what I've seen. The actual color profiles, while different when inspected up closely, are not THAT big of a problem. Adobe RGB and sRGB for example are different but if you compared one next to the other you'll see that Adobe is just a bit more desaturated, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between most color profiles without inspecting both versions up close. The main difference between monitors seems to be the gamma calibration. Most browsers convert to sRGB anyways.

I've noticed that as well when I use macs. It's more accurate to what it looks like printed though.
It's not the normal stuff that gets posted here, but I wanted to see if I could replicate something like a helicopter radio or some shit. idk.
