Thank you, I shall attempt to rectify this next time I work on it. My experience in animation has solely been 3D animation and this is the first time I've actually animated frame by frame 2D animation by hand.
I think you've got a grasp on the actual animation part; I'm in the opposite boat where I struggle with wrapping my head around walk cycles but can do the other stuff fine.

I do not need to focus at all on the drawing part of this as I will be graded mostly on my animation, but I have decided to improve my drawing for when such a need for drawing skills is required.

That's good, it's supposed to be unsettling. In my mind I wanted to the angle to slope towards the obstacle, to set the tone that the obstacle is inevitable and has to be dealt with, you can't just walk away the way you came with ease. The other two paintings in the series have the same tension.
i'm back from the dead

We have been focusing on getting the gameplay right for our game, testing many things and mechanisms so there hasn't been much visual progress going on, but we are starting to get ready to work on the next scenario, and these are going to be the next enemies for that scenario:

Hey guys, I'm working on a thing. I think it's coming along not-so-terrible so far, but I need some recommendations for good photoshop brushes before I start colouring.

In the mood for Halloween and since Inferno Cop Season 2 was announced, I made an IC pumpkin in my art club
I remember the sun. I remember grass, trees. I remember before the constant light, the endless grey. I remember when I could walk for hours and not see a single scrap of humanity. That was a long time ago.
A thick cloud of smog acts as an unending artificial overcast. Bright, fluorescent lights placed liberally about eradicate any trace of darkness. They burn my eyes.
Concrete and steel rule the planet. Where there isn't a skyscraper, asphalt takes hold with an iron fist. Any plant life that pokes its way through dies quickly and is paved over.
What is most striking is the general lack. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of miles of road, and the only use they see are from synthetic road crews fixing cracks. The only feet the sidewalks feel are those of unknown men found rotting in the gutter. There's always only one way in or out of all buildings. Signage is limited to a hexadecimal number stamped above each door.
This isn't the fault of some government or corporation. This is it. This is our fault. Cultural stagnation lead to cultural atrophy. As the arts lost relevance, people began letting efficiency take over. Mechanical coldness built this world. Once the skyscrapers, or hives, went up, everybody flooded into them, and I haven't seen anyone leave since. I don't know if they are being compelled to stay in, or if they're just too afraid of the outside.
I remember how it started. It was determined that the most efficient way for humanity to progress was to build up, in these self sustaining hives. Machines would take care of the people. By this time, it was only natural for people to want to escape from the pollution-ridden planet we had created. Hell, it was nearly impossible to breathe outside without some sort of protection. Soon after, machines were set up to continually, automatically make more of these hives, just in case the expanding population needed it. They soon covered the planet. When one of these massive building machines reached the ocean, they continued into it, no longer building yet still moving. I cannot fathom how many of these rusted hulks still patrol the dead oceans, forever trying to fulfill their original task.
The people felt safe inside their air-conditioned, air-filtered, self-powered, self-producing bunker towers. They didn't need to worry about offending another person or hurting their feelings. The machine would keep everybody happy, as long as they stayed in their air-condition, air-filtered, self-powered, self-producing room. Just lay down and let the machine take away your pain, your fear, your sadness, your confusion, your hate, your dreams, your aspirations, your love.
We, as a collective people, weren't forced into this. We accepted this. We welcomed it with open arms. We didn't want to feel sad anymore. We didn't want to feel scared. We only wanted what made us happy. Nobody forced us to go inside the hives and let the machines take over. The people who entered them knew full well what was happening, and they wanted it.
I stayed out. I didn't want a world where I could never feel sad again, where I could never feel hate, where I could never love. I thought there would be millions who refused this fate, who wanted to live life to the fullest. There wasn't. Every once in a while, I meet some like-minded fellow lying bloated on the sidewalk. I give him a small nod of acknowledgement, and I imagine he returns me the favor.
Even though I refused the offer of the people, choosing real life instead of chemical life, they still stole that from me. There is nothing left for me except my memories...

But seriously, this is like those "how to draw x" books you check out from the library in 5th grade, except those at least have some merit to them.

Vary your shading technique maybe?, what youv done so far looks great on the skin and the top of the hood, but the rest of the clothes and hand look kind of undefined and rather flat.
