ONE DAY
Started practicing with short scenes

I like the style, and the dialogue is pretty good. Could do with a better method of digitizing them though, it's a bit rough just taking photos.
Romantically Apocalyptic inspired?
yeah it's the sloppiest, I'm planning on it being digital. I did find doing physical sketches and cutting out panels to be nice, not in the sense of final quality, but it's less clumsy than working on a predefined format
Romantically Apocalyptic inspired?
No :v: I like RA, but I don't think it's very funny. The really blatant inspiration is actually from Gone With the Blastwave, the difference is mostly in the setting and the fact that this should have an overarching plot.
Well, I have even 3000x1700, but it doesn't look very good because it's kind of a sketch, and the only thing that is more or less rendered is his skull.
Anyway, here it is.
Are you crazy? This looks gorgeous. Thanks a ton.
Are there always small wobbles in the lineart of all pieces of work but I just notice it in mine the most?
another one, I apologize for the clumsy format and text

What happened to the green and red speech bubble things? I really like them, it makes it that tiny bit easier to follow.

i'm listening to noise and it's inspiring me to draw cartoony cute stuff
i spend way too much time on expressive schiele-ish faces that I don't even know what to do with bodies lol

I thought I smelled GWTBW influences there. I like it. I wouldn't mind seeing a series from you. Or a webcomic.
Then you don't know how to do technical academic drawings... Can you draw a person from observation? Can you draw a building, landscape, or object from observation? Can you shade correctly, can you determine values, can you build form, can you represent volume, can you draw proportionally, can you determine and use perspective, can you apply your drawing technique to different mediums, can you paint, can you color things correctly? These are technical skills you should learn before jumping into conceptual drawings and illustrations. You're trying to play a guitar without knowing any chords or how to strum.
No need to be such an ass about it, I was looking for advice, not trying to argue, jesus.
Technical drawing was all about drawing geometric forms in perspective, so yes I can do perspective on simple objects but that;s about as far as it goes.
Don't bitch at me and say "well you had out of hours to study it" because I didn't.
However my art teacher at school was next to useless and never taught me anything, it was only in my final year I decided what I wanted to do and I had ditched drawing for photography.
Now I'm in at the deep end expecting to be somewhere in the middle where there was a little help but no, most of our tutors have high expectations, only one of them is realistic and understands that some are here to learn and don't already have the skills. However we only had him for 5 weeks, which equates to 10 days worth.
Let me say it again, I'm looking for help here man.
Maybe you're confused but my reply was meant to show what i mean by technical drawing. I'm just saying technical skill should be worked on before anything else, otherwise you're gonna be wondering why your illustrations don't look right. It's not like there's a whole lot we can help you with other than tell you what you need to improve on and build a foundation with. I suggest drawing from observation at first.

Do you know of any good resources that I could learn from?
Free preferably, I can't really afford to buy anything right now.
Wicker if your course is too much for you and doesn't allow time to learn what you need to, drop it. Go back in another year. If you're serious about this art lark that is
Life is a very good and free resource. Google is good too. Start with how to measure by eye, draw the most basic stuff you can get your hands on around the house. On paper.
I feel like I've said these exact things before, to you no less. oh well

I'll definitely use them then, wasn't quite sure how much of a difference they made, thanks

Definitely. I mean, the current fleshed out factions (if I don't count mercenaries, who each have their own colour) are red (w/green), blue (w/orange), gold (w/purple + tiny amounts of red and blue) aaaaaand white :v: also I was experimenting with making the red ones be a mix between what they are now and the GWTBW design that's derivative of Killzone that's derivative of Kerberos Panzer Cop. I ended up not doing that despite it looking cool because the current helmet design is more original and has a bit more personality. I might give them a helghast styled rifle, though. The current one is a bit too sleek.
Nice to see people liking it :v: it is going to be a webcomic, but for now I have to practice my writing and panel layouts so I'm mostly going to be posting short scenes on here.

I'm just going to stick at it, there's no point dropping it in first year seen as there is a lot less drawing further down the line.
You may well have said them before but I have a terrible memory and all this stress isn't helping.
I simply can't drop it out, it isn't an option in my book.
i feel like you're finding an excuse for everything right now
"i don't have time"
"the tutors are bad"
"i have a bad memory"
"i am stressed"
it's quite a defeatist attitude, finding reasons for failure before even trying. go and pick up a piece of fruit or something and start drawing

don't panic
I'm not trying to find excuses.
If I was a defeatist I wouldn't even be here - there's a lot to that.

That and I said that I refuse to drop out, no matter how bad I seem.

limit ur palette dude. i was watching this on my phone so i only saw the schythe and him and i was like "alright" and i swiped over to the saturated blue glove and almost fell off the toilet.
also. i think the green, even as an accent color, stands out as a bit too green for its sorroundings. warm it up a weee bit.
