i dont really like the over-exposed thing. it looks like every other amateur film that tries too hard to look like a hollywood blockbuster (and i don't really like it in all these modern hollywood blockbusters where it's really over-exposed anyway) [editline]14th December 2013[/editline]
Finished pretty complicated picture.
nice rendering. the pose is pretty stiff though and i'm not sure the proportions are quite right - his left leg looks like a totally different length to his right, for example title is a bit strange - 'treasure keeper' makes me think of someone who guards treasure but this guy kinda looks like he's hunting for it
[t]http://puu.sh/5MCRv.png[/t] did i post this already? still shot from my short film shot on an iphone
you've taken the whole blown out effect too far, it just looks like you've accidentally overexposed your shot and it looks kind of silly i like your colour work otherwise, but the vignetting might be a bit much too. i'd need a clip to really judge that properly though

I decided to post that here though, i'm actually reshooting the whole thing in Dec. [editline]14th December 2013[/editline] Dec. = Winter break into January
good to hear that you're re shooting then, practice is key with exposure. if you sort that out, i think you've pretty much got the modern war flick feel pinpointed

Probably problems with legs appeared, because on paper sketch viewpoint was above skeleton and the whole figure was placed 3/4. But I decided to make drawing more sideview like some kind of illustration. ( I am really sorry for my level of English, I hope, that you understand everything I wrote).

A good way to do so is rather than making and looking at them separately you should always compare how they both look together so that they won't look like they're two different entities from different views mashed into each other [editline]15th December 2013[/editline] Can you guys give me recommendations on what brushes to use for more subtle shading? I've been wanting to dabble in painting and shading but I just don't know what to use when it comes to doing it digitally.

Early Merry X'mas everyone!
I now have a song that goes with this. You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, But do you recall? The most famous Santa of all? Rudolph the Red-Nosed Santa Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows And all of the other Santas. Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any Santa games Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Reindeer came to say, Rudolph with your nose so bright, Won't you guide my sleigh tonight? Then how the Santas loved him, And shouted out with glee, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Santa, You'll go down in history.

i think the problem here is that you're falling into the trap of trying to replicate what you see rather than understanding the mechanics behind it.
And soft brushes.
(@Daniel Smith) I think the problem is you not knowing where to start. As a beginner, you still have a lot to learn and you are being bombarded by helpful sites and advice on how to improve. I think you are (understandably) confused, and you are trying to focus on everything all at once. You are rushing things. What I would recommend is for you to find a good and extensive guide on how to draw. You follow that guide - from beginning to end - and you do all of the exercises it tells you to do. Don't skip steps. Don't try to follow multiple guides at the same time; I think you are already confused by having different people telling you to work on different things. Find one guide and follow that one. You can post your exercises here, along with what the point of the exercise is. That way I think it would be easier for all of us to tell you how to improve, step by step. That's my two cents, anyway.

I'd recommend a guide about either perspective or line. Perspective is especially crucial if you're going to be drawing from life instead of photo/digital references.
Progress on the game :v: 2 monsters for the current scenario, A ghost that goes up and down and a tower that gets lower the more you hit it (so you can jump over it if you want). We also been working on a new boss for the scenario, he attacks by spawning dragons that can break the ground or fly against the player: We also have a bazooka concept, the most challenging part was to make it fit the style of the game, by making it "cute" [t]http://i.imgur.com/NCtqrKE.png[/t] For those who haven't been following the game, it's a game for mobile devices in the style of endless runners but we are trying to be different by adding monsters, weapons, bosses, skills etc this is being made by a very small group of students and we are always looking for feedback so we can make the game more interesting and enjoyable. We also don't mind suggestions to make it seem less like your usual endless runner.
I've been working on colour theory regarding skin tones (I'll be working on perspective next)
I've been working on colour theory regarding skin tones (I'll be working on perspective next)
I think, that better was to begin studying with perspective and primitive shapes, then with shadowing and then with colour theory. I have some self-made simple guides about perspective and shadowing of basic shapes, but they are russian :/
