I've never seen Russian handwriting before. Looks far less strange than the usual serious looking angular fonts. At a glance you might even mistake it for being written in the English alphabet.

To be honest sometimes russian handwritting is so strange, that it is hard to understand what was written also for russian people.

I'm not sure if this is the lace to share my writing but I've been trying to write poetry and short stories recently. Yeah I'm new at it but C&C from any writers would be great. It's something I'm passionate about it. so yeah...
He wakes up each morning thinking that maybe today will be just the right amount of different. A sort of inconceivably difficult task that frankly was impossible. Time had etched his ticks and habits into stone. By noon each day, hope was already dwindling, the feeling that something was simply not right, drowning him. By evening he was overwhelmed with horrible depression. Most depressing to him was perhaps that others could not know he was how painfully sad he was.
"I’m not sad, I’m not sad."
He would chant.
Hoping that somehow in some way this would morph his lie into truth. That others would see and smell just how happy he kept saying he was. Because when he drifted off to sleep his heart had already sunken into the earth, hopeless and heavy.
And when he wakes up, he thinks to himself, that maybe today will be just the right amount of different.

Scars run like highways honey
and you’re mapped like the interstate.
Twists and turns like movie plots
and scenic overlook signs every few miles
the kind that make people marvel
at how such art could be so tainted
Well I wouldn’t call it tainted
I’d call it truth
the brutal kinda honesty that stings like art should
Paint those highways red so no one can miss em
Let people know what it’s like to feel
what you feel
Let them live
My first portrait painting, I tried studying proportions and colour theory. I know it's not good but I tried, it took a couple hours. [thumbed]

I suggest staying away from colors for the time being, as well as conceptual stuff like the mask. Draw in greyscale.
Yemen, Socotra. Took longer than it should have.

nice brushwork
colour needs some looking at though. i dunno what your reference is like but i feel like there's no variation in the lights and darks in terms of hue

The reference doesn't have very many dark shadows. There's a few dark purples and reflected greens that I noticed and painted.
I obviously could have spent more time on certain areas but I got what I needed out of the study.

I've got a little cheat that makes life drawings go a lot easier when you're just starting out. (Which I learned from ctrlpaint.com.) I just spray-painted a bunch of disposable objects like a flowerpot, an old small wooden box, some tin cans, etc. It's a lot easier to draw starting out when you can just focus on the basic shapes and values of the objects without more visual clutter getting in your way.
Getting a new pen for my Intuos4 Med. Tablet, lost it a while back during a moving period. Anyone have good reccomendations for drawing programs.

Was making a game for Ludum Dare, but it ended up sucking because I put too much time into making the sprites.. but at least I still got my sprites.

Manga Studio 5, or Clip Studio Paint as it's now called is really nice

Corel Draw is also very nice. It has very powerful simulation of color blending brushes.
Honestly, I think it doesn't really matter that program do you use. Some awesome painters work in programs I haven't even heard about, and they still produce awesome stuff. I personaly use photoshop just becauseI used to edit gmod screenshots with it before I started to paint.
Experience and knowledge are the only things that matter imo.
