Some more drawings from my phone.
You drew those ON YOUR PHONE?
what is this dark magic

This phone here comes with this great big old screen and a stylist. It cost me one hell of a pretty penny but it's great having this thing with me all the time. I haven't gotten the better software for it yet but the SketchBook thing it came with isn't so bad.
I'm still getting the hang of it.

probably should have picked someone better than otacon for the last guy. i figured raiden would be the best choice but his colour silhouettes are too subtle and complex in shape i think
Sloppily painted a frog on a canvas for my mother as a christmas gift.
Fist time I used acrylics like that. Don't know how to mix colors for shit. Fuck green man. Just slapped diferent colors together and whipped them at places I saw fit. You will not find 2 patches of the same color.

Good thing she's my mother and has to love me.

Not bad, I'd say. Can't find anything glaringly wrong with it, except maybe the composition.
In other news, here is the continuation of my rigorous portfolio creation schedule:

Great silhouettes, weak linework/actual characterisation
But I assume they're wips so

Yup. I'm going to try and get these done today as well
Hello friends
Does anyone have any tips/tutorials on drawing top-looking-down perspective when drawing?

Follows the exact same laws of perspective as any other view point.

I present, flame tree guy! Naming sketches at 4am isn't a very good thing to do.

Thought I'd show you guys the hour long figure drawing I did. Had a few drawings at 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 11 minutes, and 30 minutes.

These are tasty as fuck
Is it cheaper to stretch your own canvases than it is to buy the pre-fabricated ones at the store?
Depends on what quality you're looking for and size. It usually turns out to be about the same. What are you painting with oil or acrylic? If its oil you'll need at least 3 coats of gesso, 2 if it's already primed, and a pretty smooth canvas, i recommend Fredrix Ultrasmooth . Then you'll need the bars which are about a dollar each, two if its a bit bigger, and you'll also need a staple gun and a canvas stretcher really helps. In the long run it's cheaper and the quality will be much better than those you buy in stores + it makes you feel more connected with your work. Remember if you're going to stretch start with the corners first and then the middle and then move your way up to the corners while switching from one side to the next. I love stretching my own canvases. I paint on 18x24 usually and it turns out costing me about $10 per canvas with all the materials, better in the long run.

No, that doesn't exist, read the thread name again please.
Don't confuse the "quality" of artwork posted in here with the "minimum treshold".
As long as you've put some effort into your piece (a.k.a not just doodled some stickmen for 5 seconds in the middle of the night and posting it for shits and giggles), trying to do something, it's good to go, just post it.
I drew a cute grill.
I rarely do full body drawings because I'm bad at it so there are lots of mistakes in here but hey I finally managed to make a "decent" one

The perspective on the platform thing is not right. You are looking down on it which means the horizon / eye level is off the top of the picture. The vanishing points should of course be on that line, and they're not.

Alright I thought as much, thanks
The delay between sketch and final picture is 3 months. That's why composition is too boring, I think. Anyway I am happy, that I finished it.
