The delay between sketch and final picture is 3 months. That's why composition is too boring, I think. Anyway I am happy, that I finished it.
The front of the car is pretty confusing, I'm not entirely sure what's happening there.
I don't have any trouble reading it tbh..
better?
still working on that hotline miami short. A little art for the meanwhile
Concept from tf2 was prototype of this car.
It still looks off to me. I get what it's supposed to look like, but it appears as though it's skewed slightly or something, or it's flat. I dunno how to describe what about it looks wrong. I could just be an idiot though.
I could just be an idiot though.
i mean it's a possibility
better?
Better, but still not right IMO. Are you plotting to vanishing points?
Just got some watercolour the other day, quite excited to paint again.
Better, but still not right IMO. Are you plotting to vanishing points?
I was just eyeballing it but it's not workin'. I'll readjust it to vanishing points. EDIT: what's looking off, the platform or the stripey?
Should I keep the dialogue or is it just tacky?
It is just tacky Come on if you saw a crashed saucer thing would you turn to your friend and go "What is that, [friend's name]?" :v:
might as well post it here too... i made a thing for a girl I know that loves the nightmare before christmas hope she likes it. I might make one of him on the mountain or make the boogie.
Should I keep the dialogue or is it just tacky?
Most confusing comic strip ever.
Just got some watercolour the other day, quite excited to paint again.
thats nice.
Yeah, Salmon, the text snippets take more away from the pieces than they add.
Alright. I ordered some acrylics, canvases, brushes and an easel. Let's see how this goes.
acrylics are gay. [editline]25th December 2013[/editline] should have gotten oooooils. [editline]25th December 2013[/editline] realtalk, the only good acrylic paintings ive seen are those that emulate the much more nice and painterly look oils give off.
Most confusing comic strip ever.
For some reason this reminded me of Pacific rim. The plot was just as logical.

[editline]25th December 2013[/editline] realtalk, the only good acrylic paintings ive seen are those that emulate the much more nice and painterly look oils give off.
Iunno, I like using acrylics. They do feel more "flat" though. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Bo4tlUy.jpg[/t] Kind of blurry due to my shitty phone camera. Hope you forgive me for signing this ;(
I got some paste medium taste makes them more thick and oilpaintlike. I just want to get some foundation before I got to oils.
Ugh so boring. a WIP, I have to fix the ugly opacity legs [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17993036/SPEAR%20MAN%20BACK%20STUDY.png[/IMG_thumb]
Oh hey skirt n' spear guy from Pixelovely figure reference thing
If you're painting with your ref right up against your drawing surface you're doing like 0 eye-training, should move it as far away as possible I have two monitors so If I paint from ref it's very easy for me, if you have one monitor you're prob fucked :v: Just a general tip nvm if that's not what you do sbm
Oh shit I should do something different then. What if I covered my ref up with my painting on a different layer and switched from one to the other? Obviously I wouldn't trace, more of a take a look, then paint, take a look, paint, etc. [editline]value[/editline] Sorry for the quick image posting but I just finished this study thing. A bit brushy.
That definitely wouldn't be ideal, if you're just working for the sake of reproducing what you see you should be looking at your ref like 50% of the time. It's just having your ref on the same surface that will become a massive crutch if you try to move on to drawing from life or with less reference or whatever.
Photoreffed [editline]26th December 2013[/editline] WIP btw
Photoreffed [editline]26th December 2013[/editline] WIP btw
Do you have the reference? One of my biggest problems atm is knowing what I need to put down to make it read well without making it super detailed. I'm thinking it might be useful for me to see rough paintings with references so I can get an understanding of what needs to be drawn and what doesn't.
