Been browsing this thread for a while now (I think I actually posted but that was back in probably about March) and you guys are super good at what you do and actually helpful most of the time unlike sites like DeviantArt that tend to be "Wow dis is gr8!!" with no real tips on improvement. Inspired me to start taking art a lot more seriously and I'm still quite average in the big scheme of things but overall I reckon I'm improving so thanks friendly fp'ers

this is such a lush mix wow i might dance to it myself thanks! :D

I want to work a bit more on getting values down right and practicing drawing things from life before then probably (Been drawing for a few years but never really taken it seriously so I've never done proper practices thus I have little to no experience in either) Np guys I got this Edit: Also jfc so many people earlier in the thread like "I'll never be good at drawing weh!" after barely starting, such a poor and inaccurate attitude to have
Here ya go
the flask and sworld would totally just drop right down because as right now, there's nothing hinting at them being secured to the rope, and the rope seems to be slacking a bit, indicating it isn't particularly tightened.
that forearm looks really long
Yeah I was a bit dubious when I sketched him up, I reffed an iphone snap of me in that pose and it seemed accurate, checked it in silhouette too and it looking fine so idk. I'll just keep a better eye out next time fff
the flask and sworld would totally just drop right down because as right now, there's nothing hinting at them being secured to the rope, and the rope seems to be slacking a bit, indicating it isn't particularly tightened.
I also was aware of this but left it. Rule of looking pretty vs being functional I suppose, he asked for a simple length of rope for a belt and it looked shitty when drawn taut, so I let it droop. I don't know how you secure your belongings through your rope belt without them falling on the ground, I don't think it's possible without some really awkward-looking contrivance with knots or something Yeah it's dodgy but I'm willing to let that one slip past without feeling guilty
i did it and I need more practice: http://dump.no/files/dff155a9ebf5/Hate_you.mov
Wow HV way to lower the tone of the thread with your pornographic dancing

Oh man, bumping off quite a few personal milestones with the piece I'm working on right now; first time working with values/greyscale, doing a realistic person and painting digitally. I'm so used to doing cartoony stuff but this is a pretty welcome change. Granted it's a bit ghastly due to lack of previous experience I'm pretty dang happy with it thus far, I'll chuck it up here when it's done [sp]Does anyone have tutorials/tips/etc on hair though cause jesus I'm not great at it[/sp]
;43433414']Oh man, bumping off quite a few personal milestones with the piece I'm working on right now; first time working with values/greyscale, doing a realistic person and painting digitally.
As with a lot of stuff starting big with the overall read and then going smaller in stages is the way to go with hair. Treat it as one body, like a cloth, with gravity applied and lighting. Then work in smaller (but not tiny) brushes to better illustrate the flow/direction the hair falls in. Then depending on how realistic you want it you can keep going smaller and smaller and repeating the process. Do not: start by painting in the hairs with a very small brush
