I think that any work in any medium is helpful. I learned in digital that a desaturated blue looks warm when put next to a saturated blue; and I know that will transfer straight into traditional.
I do find that digital can be pretty fiddly. There are times when I know that if it were on a real canvas, I could just load up a brush and sweep my arm across it to get a really nice stroke, yet in digital I can't. Digital will always be a case of directing a robotic arm to paint for you, rather than using your own arm. I think a Cintiq would take away some of that feeling, but traditional will always be more immediate and organic to work with.
In terms of speed though, if you're designing something then digital seems to be the way to go. You can iterate a design much faster in digital than traditional. Any mistakes can be rectified almost immediately, and besides corruption or power failure, there's not a lot of things that can truly ruin a piece painted by somebody who knows what they're doing. In traditional though, if you spill a coffee or some thinning medium over your work you can be stuffed.
Traditional often puts me off because a lot of the time (and especially when looking at works that have been photographed and put online) the colours have that awful monotony, often like a yellow filter has been put over it. It's important to get proper perspective on this though; I think traditional works CAN look as crisp and convincing as digital concept pieces if done right and, more importantly, photographed correctly. Photographs of works will never truly represent the work itself.
I would love to do more traditional work though. It's just getting motivation that's the issue; I hate cleaning stuff up, especially living in a place now where if I spill paint on the carpet I've gotta pay for it
Salmonmarine: I'm finding it tricky to talk about your work becuase I can't figure out what is wrong with it. There's something that looks a little off, but I can't see exactly what that thing is. It's looking good though mate! I'll keep looking and thinking if I have time.
Oh right so here's an update on my ap concentration. Currently finished 3 paintings, spending about 3 days per painting, almost done with Mercury, and I'll have Venus done by Friday, then I have 2 weeks to finish 5 more. They're all acrylic and oil on canvas.
Our Only Home - 30"x30" (26" diameter)

Awesome, Lilyo. Was this done traditionally or digital?
It's traditional, I believe.

I do like the houses and the pixel work on the grass, but the rest is rather weak; but it's a start!
Colors and contrast is something you have to work on.
@rikimaru6811 @ normandy
Didn't read, lol
But that's nice to hear
Are you saving the picture as a low quality jpg on purpose?
Normally I use the Capture tool while its still in the editor so I don't have to bother saving the picture and resizing it later. Then I upload it to Imgur... so I think it does affect the quality a bit
Question: Is there a place I can go to find tutorials on how to do pixelart? I'm interested in learning.
can you draw at all traditionally or digitally? this would help people find you some tutorials :)
N-Not really...
But then again, I haven't really tried very much.
Then try your best.

What do you mean 'editor'? If you're using photoshop or possibly other Adobe programs, always just save for web Ctrl+alt+shft+S and then you can input whatever size you like to save it as and avoid a good amount of JPEG compression at the same time.

Do that. It's your best bet.

Which part is acrylic? The white on top? I'm trying to learn about painting now because I don't know anything about it.
Do that. It's your best bet.
I would like to point out that although it helps it's not a requirement. You don't go do clay sculpting before going into zbrush. I'm sure it would help a ton but you can still learn a skill the "harder" way.
