Tried something a bit different
Lilyo come over for a cup of tea sometime and also let me capture you and through my dastardly devices and infernal machines I shall distill the skill and motivation that you have, and that I desperately desire
Dude I make like a new piece once a week and spend the other time mindlessly scrolling through Facepunch, Reddit, and Tumblr and binge watching Netflix shows :( I have problems with being motivated and productive, especially at home. I should be drawing and practicing so much more than I am right now. If I finally sit down to work on something I could go at it for hours though.
i had an idea for a short poem whilst reading bukowski and taking a dump "Today at the bookstore Twilight sat with bestsellers, and the girl at the counter said with taught sympathy that there were no results for Virginia wolf" The only problem apart from it being incredibly under worked is that it also gives off a pretentious, "omg y don't people read good books anymore sighhhh" I just want to work in Virginia Woolf being misspelled with something. [editline]5th February 2014[/editline] plus i'm not even sure if twilight is still a best seller cos i never go outside. too busy brooding.
I think the problem is you got the whole damn world to write poetry about but you picked twilight as your subject matter
it didn't have to be twilight i suppose. it was just meant to be any popular book which would make me feel intellectually superior for bagging on. Man i'm starting to feel more and more silly. will just leave that one alone forever, me thinks. Thanks Mako! I do wanna somehow use "Virginia wolf" with something though. It's not really that clever but i sorta digged it.
Here I'll post one of many things I've been working on to contribute to the thread instead of just goofing around, it's suppose to be some sort of spray/stencil, idk how to call it. Deadline is before this Sunday. [t]http://puu.sh/6KBkd[/t] How do I improve it?
Lollipop cannibalism.
Idk if anyone here is able to help me but I'm having some technical issues with photoshop. It's using my SSD as a scratch disk, but within an hour session of using photoshop (in a relatively small file) it somehow fills the whole 20gb of space on it. It's incredibly irritating because I'm not even able to save the file because it's so full, in order to reset photoshop and get the 20gb back...

Nope, ought it to be?
No. Do you have any sort of .tmp file on your disk? They're usually humongous and can take up to 50GBs. Find and delete them. [editline]5th February 2014[/editline] Better explanation: [t]http://puu.sh/6KMX2.png[/t]
Cool, I'll look into it, thanks. In the mean time, here's my morning's work :v: he's the mascot for the company, and I'm starting work on a promotional video. I'm absolutely not an animator so it's going to take a long time, I think. I was also working on some concept sketches for the other character in the video, and the printers (the company provides free printing for students yada yada yada) [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7346219/Arts/characterconcepts.jpg[/t]
Who do I contact about having the friendly vote option removed from all of my posts. "hmm here's a drawing, and this guy looks friendly, ill vote him friendly" STOP SPREADING LIES
Have some scropions.
Hello, I have recently started to try and draw again since I gave up when I was younger because complete lack of skill, I decided to sit down and draw some mannequins because why not and the first one I wanted to draw without any reference, because I wasn't that smart. Just saying but i don't have a scanner so I used an app designed for scanning. My initial reaction to this was "oh god no" and immediately got a reference and started drawing them. I used this as a reference http://karlmac.com/2011/11/drawing-practice-sheets-for-guide-and-reference/ I have drew the other mannequins but my favourite was the angel one I also received a drawing book for Christmas and from that I drew a portrait of a knight. I would really like help on what I can try and do to get better and I apologise for the poor quality.
Use some free photo editing programs to enhance the images. But now you know you should use references for things you're not sure about, and that's good. But what do you really want to improve? Proportions? Portraits? Human body? Gesture? Did my first real thing with a tablet:
the feathering and small brush size makes it hard to tell if this is water or solid surfaces.
So I'm trying to analyse this photo to better understand perspective in the hope it will help me draw this image better than last time. Can someone help me out?
Can someone help me out?
There's a very visible line.
There's a very visible line.
Right so i marked a vanishing point using this line however if I project from this line to the bottom of the front wheel rim, it doesn't line up with the back wheel rim - leading me to believe that my eye line is wrong.. [editline]5th February 2014[/editline] I think it's because the line is slightly curved.. it''s giving me an unreliable VP.

Phone cameras (and other low ends) dont work well on indoor light. Itll be a lot easier to get a clear photo out there

gah thank you <3 <3
I found an old comic I made when I was 16 haha.

Where you drew it is not where the horizon is because the angle of the door is clearly not horizontal there. If you look at the roof you notice that it's slanted downwards towards the second vanishing point on the right of the car. The horizon line is therefor somewhere right above where the window starts.
