It doesn't do much good just putting "nsfw" if you post the image anyway :v:

Cheers, I'm trying to be a bit more vibrant
So its not the usual sort of thing I would post to this thread, especially since I never intend it to be something I put a lot of time and effort in to, but that just sort of happened.
I've ended up really happy with this, which means I am clearly missing something, nothing is ever that good. So some crit would be appreciated. Its based on a scene from a story thing I post about occasionally on other sites, the character is a female werewolf

It would also be really helpful if you guys could let me know to what point you can see the fur detailing on the neck. I dont have a properly calibrated screen and although I did details all the way to the inside I can only see about half way if I look at it on my phone the rest is solid black, probably the brightness. So i'm just curious what it actually is-ish

:(
I was thinking of that mountain at the end/start of Halo Reach when I drew it.

Id really like to get peoples opinions on this?

It feels like the texture of the brushes and the business itself is pretty same all over and it hurts the composition. I know the focal point is the center, but it wasn't the first place my eyes went. I feel like if you redid it with regular brushes and more detail focusing on the center it would look a lot better.
edit: sorry for the confusion, i typed it out without quoting the original post.
The focal point isn't the centre, there's nothing there? Besides if your eyes go elsewhere then it wouldn't be the primary focal point anyway

yes yes. the famous vagina mountain from halo reach.

I believe he meant Mr Cakes thing above that.
This is why people need to quote :v:
Oh yeah right
I can see pretty much all of the fur on the neck btw, though it's very dark at the last
Also it looks more like scales than fur

I just wonder what's up with the violet bit in the top left corner?

EDIT:
Man when you work on something for a long time you really grow immune to how weird it actually looks. I mean, this is a work in progress, but there's something generally strange about the whole portrait.
Some super rough animation

the landing doesn't have much weight to it
I don't like how the camera pans and then stops so abruptly.
Zombie bros before zombie hoes. Suck it Valentines day.

Yeah I got lazy. I'll give it some movement later on.

Flip it back and forth constantly. Even if you're just flipping every half hour or something, that usually results in some weirdness that you have to fix each time, but if you're flipping every ten minutes you should be getting it right the whole time

Oh hey I didnt notice that was there. Thanks for pointing thst out I missed it.
its a small snip of background, violet was my base colour for it while I was workin on the body. Forgot to fix that bit to the blue :v:

Little sketch to warm up for an old fairy tale style.
I was going through a lot of sci fi city ref for inspiration, and was looking at a lot of Feng Zhu's stuff when I noticed something interesting:
He has these two city pictures:
[t]http://www.fengzhudesign.com/images/gallery_image_536.jpg[/t]
[t]http://www.fengzhudesign.com/images/gallery_image_514.jpg[/t]
They have exactly the same composition.

For the longest time I didn't actually realize they were two separate images until I noticed both of them next to each other in my inspiration folder. It's interesting just how much composition defines how you see a picture.
I would assume he used the same photo plate when he started each picture. I wonder if it was accidental
did anyone else used to absolutely adore feng zhu and now think his stuff is really a bit boring and too... feng zhu? you can spot his work and any work of his students from a mile away and i'm not sure that's a positive thing

Maybe because it has a different purpose to regular illustration, namely as industrial design/concept art for movies or games? Personal style and the picture by itself isn't always the focus there, when these pieces need to go further down the production chain. Maybe it's too same-y even for that but I don't see it. He even mentions the similarity in styles in design work in his Illustration vs ID video.

Honestly I've never really liked him in the first place. Don't really know why, may be because I found him boring from the very first sight.
I know this may be unpopular and can sound strange from the guy like me, but that's just how i feel about him.
can someone teach me how to paint cities like that? that would make a perfect cover for a sci-fi novel i'm working on...

That'd be more to do with the art director involved on any given project. Concept art as a field is full of totally varied work and style.
