You guys have right. I did not focus that much on the perspective as I perhaps should have. This was mainly a color practice. Do you have any good tip drawing perspectives digitally? I use the perspective tool on Corel Painter and then continue working on Photoshop. It works, but I dont like jumping between drawing programs, and I am not that comfortable with Corel Painter.

Even in our live figure drawings we had to always include the table the model was standing on, and I think that translates really well into practicing the way you "sense" perspective. Drawing items with a minimal wireframe is also a good way of practicing the plasticity of objects, which helps putting them into 3D space easier. err, I guess I don't have any good tips for digital perspective drawing :( only for how you can train your eye for it there are like techniques on how you foreshorten windows on walls or like tiles, projecting shadows from objects onto planes and other perspective shit like that, but I forgot most of them because I've always done that by feel before I was taught the actual techniques this year, I have my notes somwhere :v:

So I'm working on a promotional video for work; it won't make much sense without the script or the second half, but basically tom is going to print for £££, rewinds, goes to ~frintopolis~ where he's taught how to use frinter (by the pig with the propeller hat). only about 1/2 done and there's a couple of bits I'm going to redo - particularly the bit where he jumps over the pigs because oh lord it's terrible. animation is so dull. been working all morning and all I've done is the pig bouncing off tom animation
I think the jumping is fine if you slowed it down a tad Oh and speed up the <- Tom parts, they drag on and on
I think the jumping is fine if you slowed it down a tad Oh and speed up the <- Tom parts, they drag on and on
Aye, but the video will eventually have a narrator throughout, saying something like "this is tom, tom's about to spend £££ printing his lecture notes" or something, but at the end I might at least work in a different angle or something to make it more visually interesting :)
I do not think "frinting" is a good portmanteau, while we're at it :v:
I do not think "frinting" is a good portmanteau, while we're at it :v:
unfortunately it's not my company and it's already established, hehe. it's kinda grown on me though, but I guess anything will if you're working on it for 4 months :v: [editline]24th February 2014[/editline] also I did a book cover for a friend the other day it's an urban fantasy type thing with revolution & magical shit [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7346219/Arts/lore1024.jpg[/t]
Very nice at a glance, rather messy on a second look. You get away with it on the hand but the red aura stuff is too lazily done imo
I shot this:
Holy shit that Clarinet does not sound well tuned Anyways as for you, the angle you're using when he's playing piano seems kinda lazy, it'd have been much better to lower yourself more towards his eye level and see a bit less of the keys when you pan down. It's also a bit awkward when you go from ECU to Medium shot of the guy because there's not really any in-between that I've seen. The camerawork itself is very smooth, it doesn't look like you just went in with a handheld which is pretty nice. Are you using any special equipment?
I had to stop listening as soon as that clarinet kicked in. Sorry. Agreed the footage is nice to watch but the angles could be a bit more interesting - don't be afraid to get up real close!
oh god the editing is hurting my brain learn what jump cuts are and how to avoid them also yeah the clarinet is way off tune if you're giving it a music video feel with the 0:30 stuff then keep at it, I'd rather watch that than comparatively emotionless people performing otherwise yeah, the camerawork ain't bad
Played a bit of Guacamelee thanks to the humble bundle, so decided to make my own char based on the Jaguar. From the game [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/YVKs3j.jpg[/t] Mine [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/OvJA1a.png[/t] higher res: http://i.cubeupload.com/9wvGic.png
Anyone have a recommendation for a good 23-24" IPS monitor for photoshop/ gaming for around $200?
Did a shitty flash eCard for my 2D animation class. I'm still getting used to flash. I could potentially be good at this stuff when I'm not: A. Lazy B. Bad at drawing C. Devoting 99% of my time to classwork
Anyone have a recommendation for a good 23-24" IPS monitor for photoshop/ gaming for around $200?
Dell UltraSharp Monitors are pretty good
Also really expensive and low response time and contrast ratio lol
Anyone have a recommendation for a good 23-24" IPS monitor for photoshop/ gaming for around $200?
I know it sounds obvious but the best bet would be to go into a shop and have a look at the monitors for yourself. Samsung make some good monitors. I myself got a SyncMaster SA700 for £229. Even though it's an LED it has good colour quality. (You can get those cheaper as now it's an older model.)
been a while since I've posted here.. anyways here's my latest painting for an assignment
This was something I was working on earlier. There's still tons of stuff I have to do so I'm nowhere near done with it yet. It's supposed to be an Avian from Starbound. [T]http://i.imgur.com/bhQE4Xg.jpg[/T] How did you guys learn to shade so well? It's something I've struggled with for years. I'm totally able to shade cubes and circles and stuff but when I have to draw complex objects I can't do it.

The people at the bottom fuck it up though, they're not in the scene properly. Can't really crop an important element that's as small as that and have it come out alright
Rough animation is rough.
Why is the character animation in the beginning so wobbly? Did you not use onion skin or something
Why is the character animation in the beginning so wobbly? Did you not use onion skin or something
Maybe he's going for a particular style? [editline]25th February 2014[/editline] No need to be so rude about it.
that's not a style, it's just badly done which is especially strange because the animation of the telescoping thing afterwards is really good

And I fixed this piece up for an exhibition I got into at SCAD:

something feels funky about her legs on the last one. it's like her right leg doesn't attach to the pelvis quickly, judging by the angle it enters the skirt.
Those colour pieces are ace, just fucking wonderful
Why is the character animation in the beginning so wobbly? Did you not use onion skin or something
Rough animation is rough Nah, I just sketched the whole way through without onionskin cause it was a rough animation and didn't really care for it to be clean atm.
Any of you know any programs for easily stitching gifs together, one after the other? It's possible to do in photoshop by copying frames into one psd but it' takes forever when I'm dealing with almost 20 separate animations and over 300 slides.
