Have some more greyscale pixel stuff :
This is really cool, love the little details like the poster wall and remnants of someone's piss on it. Legitimately inspiring stuff considering how bland my backgrounds are.
a thing [t]http://s9.postimg.org/75eo8mxa5/demongirl.png[/t]
a thing [t]http://s9.postimg.org/75eo8mxa5/demongirl.png[/t]
Broken Link? :/ [editline]3rd March 2014[/editline] Well, the link works but the picture don't show in the post..
[t]http://i.imgur.com/dwE2kZu.jpg[/t] dunno if it's to do with the lens i rendered with maybe
Looks good, although I think the Woodpecker towers are way too small.
a thing [t]http://s9.postimg.org/75eo8mxa5/demongirl.png[/t]
:/ mirroring
:/ mirroring
It works perfectly for me :P
[t]http://i.imgur.com/dwE2kZu.jpg[/t] dunno if it's to do with the lens i rendered with maybe
Are the pylon things in the back sinking into the ground lol? I don't really understand their perspective, why can you see their top?
Are the pylon things in the back sinking into the ground lol? I don't really understand their perspective, why can you see their top?
They don't have a surface, they are just wire frames. It's very difficult to see them in correct perspective because for some reason it appears that the wires at the back are thicker lines than the ones at the front, making it look like the whole shape is inverted and you are looking down on it. You are looking up through the top, not down onto it. Actually a really cool example of how line thickness can fuck you over.
Are the pylon things in the back sinking into the ground lol? I don't really understand their perspective, why can you see their top?
It's the Russian Woodpecker, an old radio tower array at Prypiat. You can't actually see the tops, it just seems that way because the thin rods give a sense of translucency.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/dwE2kZu.jpg[/t] dunno if it's to do with the lens i rendered with maybe
Could have something to do with the way you detailed the ground plane, because in your painted one, the truck looks much closer and flatter.
It's the Russian Woodpecker, an old radio tower array at Prypiat. You can clearly see the perspective change as well as seeing their top E: oh wait i just got it lol, I couldn't make myself see it the other way. Now it makes sense
Would you guys say there came a point for you in painting where it became more easy and less tiring? I find that I can get ok results now, but it feels like such a grind. It's not that I don't enjoy it, but it's almost uncomfortable to draw, as if it's taking a lot of subconscious thought and it leaves me drained.
i'm not a painter so take my words with a pinch of salt, but think a lot of it is just down to muscle memory to do the right kind of strokes and training your eye to see what you need to fix. unfortunately i don't think there's ever really a point where it gets easier, it's just a constant progression until one day you realise the point went by.
there's no point where you get over a hill and suddenly see nothing but easy green pastures ahead of you. difficulty and struggle is always going to come in waves, alternating with elation and ease, because the balance between your technical knowledge and technical ability is always going to be shifting i mean, you're constantly learning. sometimes you'll spend a few weeks learning a lot about how to see everything you're doing wrong, but nothing about how to fix it. during these times you're likely to be frustrated. and then sometimes you'll spend weeks learning great techniques but your critical eye might wane. during these times you're gonna think everything you do is brilliant and you'll be really happy that's what i think anyways
Yeah it never gets easier, at least it shouldn't, otherwise you're just staying at the same level. I always think that whenever something starts feeling easier to do it just means you're not pushing yourself hard enough. Some parts will get easier and other new things you've never even thought of before will come up, it all depends on what you're planning on achieving and at what point you feel like you've accomplished your goal. The biggest struggle will always be at the beginning though, because once you get past the basics and hold a strong grasps on every aspect of the specifics of what you want to do you'll just start working on refining and strengthening your abilities rather than learning them.
Well then you did something strange while drawing it because the perspective doesn't look right at all. Do you still have a picture of the 3D version?
late reply but w/e your eyes are just tricking you it's fine
my dad drew this today
UUUUUUUUUUUUGH getting so incredibly pissed off with photoshop. I'm editing a huuuuge A1 file with 103 layers, but my 45gb free solid state drive is getting filled within 5 minutes of editing. Quitting photoshop empties it no problem, but when it fills I'm not even able to fucking save. So if I forget to save and empty my scratch disks every 4 minutes I completely waste my time because I can't save. How the actual fuck do I delete this cunt when I'm in photoshop? So sick of redoing bullshit because of photoshop can't handle it's shit [editline]3rd March 2014[/editline] purging does not work fyi
why in the name of god do you have 103 goddamn layers?? i've never known anyone that uses that many
-snip, shit photo, scanning tomorrow instead
Updated according to feedback, thanks guys!
why in the name of god do you have 103 goddamn layers?? i've never known anyone that uses that many
103 separate drawings: [t]http://www.robbobin.com/images/art/dota.jpg[/t] I've mysteriously lost my original .psd but I need it back so I'm having to redo it :(

You can't delete it whilst working on the image, because Photoshop is using it for the image. You really shouldn't use such a small disk as a cache disk if you intend to work with documents of such a high resolution.

Eastern Native American I quit halfway through on. The ribcage under it's breast ends kinda abruptly. The feet are pretty large but I suppose that compliments the toon-ish style.

As if it was folded back against her forearm.

I made a Counter Strike themed pixel art thing (inspired by this design).
