Wow, how often can a brush of a penis nose elephant really be useful?
you would be surprised

I accept your challenge of doing an entire environment painting with a penis nosed elephant brush when I have time
this is a toxx clause
Yeah I'm still waiting for your penis

Was tempted to go super saturated and colourful, but decided to keep it subdued and gloomy, which I'm happy with

Really nice, the back eye is still throwing off the perspective though.
I think it looked nicer when it was flipped the other way

How is a person going to improve if they come here and just get shunned without any advice being given?

Yeah, the flow is lost with it flipped..
The first thing you see is the eye (it's an aye right?) but it's pointing in the opposite direction form which most people read. Sure it still leads to the small character but it's offputting having it going from 'right to left' and not 'left to right'
I love it though. Reminds me of that animated film about a huge robot and a boy. Can't remember the damn name.
The Iron Giant.
which is the first thing that popped into my head when i saw that picture.

Iron Giant.
Underrated as fuck
That was like my favourite film in my younger years. [sp]Even as I got older, the end still brought a tear to my eye.[/sp]
I'm really tempted to go back and watch it.. But I've got a report to write, about that...
My report is on professional issues. I'm the artist in my group so I'm confined to write about issues related to art. I'm not to sure what to address besides use of other people textures and assets..
Can you guys give me an idea of what to take into consideration?
composition of a scene/map, how the lighting affects the mood, what kind of lighting is used, whether there's enough of it, how the textures work together to emphasise some place and provide necessary, but background detail.

What do you mean by professional issues? Judging by your two examples do you just mean interpersonal issues, with copyright or creating art it's self etc? I'm not sure what the scope your looking in is based on just saying "professional issues"?

They posted a bunch of resources referencing to trademarks, Intellectual property licences and copyright issues. They're very vague about everything.
I'm really not entirely sure what I'm supposed to write about because the Game Designers can pretty much cover everything and Intellectual property is more related to the programmers than artists..
I know it's not really an answer to your question but I'm really in the black here too.

Professional Issues, not creative issues.

i dont know how dated this is and there might be a bunch of random duplicates of brushes in there because i'm an unorganised piece of shit
also the exact streaky brush i use might not be there but the one i edited to get it is - you just gotta reduce the number of lines and increase the spacing of it i think

So other than using others textures there is also anything that falls under a trademark, using a company logo or catch phrase (hence why games and movies always have made up similar things to macdonalds and other brands, as i'm sure you know), using trademark character designs like Ronald McDonald or Gordon Freeman.
Celebrity likenesses would also fall within your scope I imagine. Creating a character too similar to some actual celebrity can cause a stink (although I still think thats dumb).
Ripping weapon or item designs from games or real life
Using others art clips without proper permissions obviously also included

I use Sai for this very reason. I need the stabilizer if I'm doing Lineart, don't see much point when painting though
Thats a pretty decent addition to photoshop for only 30 bucks (or less I assume if you student it)

I've been contemplating this for a while.. Is it as good as SAI's stabilization?

So, my sister showed my parents Frozen, and they love it!
They asked me if I can make something similar, I shamelessly said yes, so here goes nothing... at least it's a start...
Aiming to finish this in a week without procrastinating too much...
Great start! The composition looks strong but I think her mouth is a wee bit off.
The right eye seems too low, it should be a higher (or the nose isn't positioned right), and from that angle the forehead should be extruding more above the eye brow, otherwise looks nice. Look into a mirror and try to strike a similar pose, you'll see right away all the faults clearly.
did the base color pass, will fix the anatomy bug!
