That's tons better than before
Fuck. I wish there was a better alternative to gifs, then.
There's something you can do with HTML5 where it still functions like a gif but it loads faste and has a higher resolution. But I have no idea how it works nor do I know if it can help with your problem - Maybe worth looking into?

Hell, it looks fine when it's not animated:

Ha, and now it's totally fucking broken, it won't even animate shittily. Thanks Flash.
Gifs work fine, you just need to export it with the highest settings, although then it'll be a really big filesize. Save it as a swf.

Found under "Publish Settings", yeah? I'm not sure what "the highest settings" are but I've been playing around with varying combinations of them. This is the best I was able to get out of it:

If I knew how/where to upload .SFWs or HTML5 video, I'd jump on that.

I found something called Google Swiffy and it seems to work when I feed it some of my old .swf files (dat nostalgia). It even rendered gradients and filters and such. There's an upload option so you just pick that and see what happens!
EDIT:
One hour(ish) of work based on the keywords "kitty" and "squid". The paws/legs are pretty mangled at this point.
Another thing, add some more variety to your sentences. I notice a lot of your sentences end with dangling participles, which are all right in scarcity, but not so much when they're thrown all over the place. They aren't all right at all in proper English, but as a fictitious author I think if you know how to make it sound nice and flow well, you can have whatever liberties you please. (Look at The Book Thief -- filled with run ons, incomplete sentences, etc. But the author knows how to pull it off)
I can tell you write a lot like I used to. Just keep working on it and review others' writings that you enjoy, to improve your own work.
I'm glad you and the others actually took the time to look over it. I learned a lot just from these few posts. Hopefully the next draft won't be as bad.
Thanks. I find it hard to get out of the scriptwriting, but I'm trying. I can't seem to find the sweet spot between providing enough information for the imagination and providing to much information.
[editline]24th March 2014[/editline]
Short of posting a snreencap I can't do anything about the format. I couldn't get code to work. Could you elaborate a bit on my use of adjectives? I could use different ones, but I don't want to go all thesaurus and turn it into even more of a slog.
Maybe pastebin would work?
Then again having highlighted IFs could add some real drama to your work, might be worth looking into!
Your adjectives don't have to be queer ones from a thesaurus, just try to make them evocative. You're working from a painting in your mind's eye which you must reconstruct with words on a page - you might have a great imagination and great stories to tell, but you're shit out of luck if you don't have it in you to use words like a paintbrush.
I refuse to be blagged into doing a full crit on any writing :v: but the most glaring errors are descriptions like "very precise Y" or "an incredibly strong X"
As lintz said, show and don't tell. You must never be a person telling the reader about what is happening - you are an objective window for the events of your story, and we shouldn't have to think about you any more than we should have to think about the circuitry in a television while we're watching a film. That means flawless writing - no informal, no awkward sentence structures, no undue repetition (this can occur more subtly than you think, see "sandy red/bright blue/dull silvery"), no bad formatting et al.
Any misstep at all, and you've thrown cold water on the reader and taken them right out of your world, they're back sitting somewhere reading words that some dude has written (either carelessly or amateurishly) :v:

also rejigged the colours on this a bit so it's a bit more bright and light-hearted and less apocalyptic. also has a cool 80s b-movie look to it maybe?

lost some of the highlights especially in the strong colour areas though so i need to go back in and clean that up a bit

dither that shit
[editline]25th March 2014[/editline]
like, there's no dithering on the gif, at all - it's just using colour banding to try and smoothen out the gradient

You should probably concentrate more on drawing than shading.

If I don't get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep I get the worst headache throughout the day... Which sucks because I'm the worst for going to bed at a decent time.

I bookmarked it the second I saw your post :v:. I've read through a handful of his critique blogs and they're hilariously informative. I see a lot of the trappings I've fallen into by looking at the works he's beautifully ripped apart.

You learn to incorporate the headache as part of your everyday self, it's great!

i'm managing 6 hours on a good day!
[editline]25th March 2014[/editline]
although it's 2 now and i gotta be up before 8 so i've already ballsed that one up
[editline]25th March 2014[/editline]
protip: as you get tired just have one or maybe two bottles of beer which will instantly give you that tiny tipsee high to get you through an additional 2 hours of work
last time i did that i was bug fixing lightmaps until 5am that was a good night
sometimes when i'm silly i get only 4 hours of sleep for a 8 hour day
My schedule is kind of nice actually. Monday 12pm-12:30am work, Tuesday 12pm-6pm sculpture, Wednesday 9am-6pm painting and history, Thursday 9am-9pm drawing, english and anatomy, Friday 3pm-12:30am work, Saturday/ Sunday sleep/ get work done.

Alcohol just puts me to sleep when I'm tired
A couple of drinks can put me over the edge from slightly tired to literally can't stay awake any longer
it works better than coffee for me if i nail the amount exactly. which happens to be a beer or two but no more
