not sure why, but the site i uploaded it to made it look really dull...
Lilyo I was checking out your tumblr, great stuff! I didn't know you went to SVA! I was in Pratt last year I have some friends there!
Oh really? You did 4 years at pratt (2 at utica and 2 in brooklyn
)? Or did you transfer

I did Pratt for like 1 1/2 years but I needed to get out of New York so I went traveling for a few months, and now I'm studying in Scotland. Plus Pratt was fucking expensive man I had a $20,000 scholarship and my family was still struggling to afford it.
I kind of wish I went to SVA though, the only reason I didn't is because I like Brooklyn better but Pratt was extremely rigid. How do you like it?
You went directly to brooklyn for your first year? Thats why it was so expensive haha, pratt mwp in Utica is where freshmen and sophomores go. I was going to go to pratt cause i liked mwp but i decided nyc and an open city campus was more interesting. I love it, i got really lucky with the scholarship but its still hella expensive, though i guess not so much for a private school. What are you doing in scotland?
Haha same thing as I was doing at Pratt, Communications Design/Illustration. I'm at the Glasgow School of Art it's awesome. Thinking of switching to animation and 3d motions next year! I had to re-do my foundation because they basically didn't count my US education but if I finish all my years here it'd still be half of if I finished at Pratt haha.
Thats awesome, i definitely know what you mean, nyc can get brutal, ill probablyget out of here after i finish at sva. How much does glasgow end up costing? I payed 7.5k this year and i gotta pay 10-15k for all the other years. And i work part time at the school so i pay for my own room. It ends up being somewhat manageble overall
Ooph damn. I'm paying $24,000 a year for international student and the cost of living is half of NYC. It's not even a worse school it's one of the top schools here, UK schools are just significantly cheaper it's crazy.
EDIT: It's insane because English students pay about $15,000 a year and Scottish students get to go for Free!
reminder that that £9000 a year is in fact a loan from the government that you have to pay back, plus living loan and grants bring the total debt up to around £36k.
But it's okay though, since you only have to pay it back when you're earning more than 25k a year. and it 's only another £30 off you every month.

It's still significantly less then the US it's ridiculous. If I wanted to finish at Pratt even if I kept my scholarship I would have to pay back somewhere around $180,000.
My god art schools can be expensive. I'll happily stick with my 3k a year plans
Even if I felt an art school would allow me to progress way faster than I am now, I doubt it would be $180,000 faster.

speaking of marginal progress, been doing a little bit of composition type practice. I'm still inept when it comes to environments, but hey what can you do :V
by no means is it in any way properly rendered, but I think it looks cool enough

Hey you're way better than me that's for sure. I think art school is good for helping conceptualize ideas, I realized last September that I had significantly slowed improving because I was relying on art school when really it's the work outside of class that get's you really good. Now I just like going to be around artists and the teachers help me hone my ideas and such while out of school/homework I work harder on my technical stuff.
And I know I would never have any motivation working on my own time if I didn't go to school. As soon as I get home I just lose all motivation to do any work..
A rough cut of a sketch. I have the source files saved, and I'll reupload a better edit at some point.

I was the total opposite of this haha. Classes sapped all my want to do anything :v: now I don't have any other commitments I spend basically all day drawing

Well that was uncomfortable to watch.

Did you manage to watch all the way through? I got about two minutes in and had to go outside for a while.
Is there any particular order the Loomis books would be best read in? Just scanning the titles I'm not sure if there is a better place to start or if it won't matter
I spent hundreds of hours getting good at Dark Souls cause it was fun. Art is fun. Why not get good at art too? At least that's how I see it. S'been working decently well so far. You just have to remember to think of it like a game and not as work.

I'd go from Figure Drawing for All it's Worth to maybe drawing the head and hands or something. That one first in any case
processed

a few things are getting in my way of finishing this at the moment so I've no idea when I'll be realistically be able to tackle it.
I'm having second thoughts about putting Sooty and Sweep on Mouses fingers. either way he's almost finished.

I really like it! the women looks out of place a bit though. The robot is so detailed compared to her Disney-esc style.

This whole planes thing isn't really clicking for me too well for the whole face. Open to advice. I think I'm gonna go try some more from photo work and overlay it in when i start shading (Seems quite useful for that at least)
On the other hand, NOSES I CAN FINALLY DRAW NOSES :v:

the part where i said i wasn't finished must have made one hell of a whistle as it flew overhead
Way to be an asshole to someone trying to give you some friendly advice.

If you don't want people to provide feedback, why even bother posting it here?
This is a 1/32 scale M5A1 Stuart light tank model I just finished building and painting today.
