Photostudies first, learn how to render out correct lighting and texture etc from photos before trying to render on your original work.

I was really talking about your general shapes in the environment; those rocks in the background are sexy, as is a lot of the airplane shape and the shape of the guy in the immediate foreground.

technically I'd experiment with removing or fading out the lines that join the top of his eyelids to his forehead; at the moment it's somewhat unclear on the initial read whether his eyes are open or closed. I think dropping those lines and leaving that area bare might help Also that ear sticking out from behind his head confuses the image a little; I'd get rid of it entirely
