I agree especially about the ear, I have some kind of habit of making them stick out (on caricuatures/cartoons) just to exaggerate the forms, but you are totally correct that it normally should show, at least not that much.
Oh for me it's not a case of whether or not it should show in terms of perspective and realistic 3D space; visually the raw shape of it and how it interacts with the shapes around it makes it a bit confusing to look at initially [editline]3rd May 2013[/editline] Man this Discworld redesign is gonna be neat Thinking I'll start large then go more and more micro. Bringing A'Tuin the giant turtle and the elephants and the Disc itself into science fiction is gonna be fun. Rocket-powered robotic turtle? Monorail-mounted sun and moon? NUCLEAR ELEPHANTS YOU FUCKIN BETCHA
Finished this thing [img_thumb]http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/122/d/3/prize_for_the_demon_king_by_thelazylion-d63vf91.jpg[/img_thumb] Click for higher res
kinda looks like 2 different paintings blended together. that could work for a wrap-around cover or something but as it stands it's a bit odd, especially as there's no way to tell why there'd be such a shift in light, or even style. further to that though there's a lot of elements that look separate to the painting as a whole and mess with the sense of depth, for example the use of textured brushes for the moss n stuff

The cut off feet of the smashed up dude and the throne just barely fitting into the picture really draws away from how good the right hand side of the picture looks, imo. [editline]3rd May 2013[/editline]
Bad values consistencies as well as compositions.. eugh.. [t]http://puu.sh/2LTw7.jpg[/t]
I REALLY like the lighting from the top left corner, it looks so bright, is that shopped in any way?
I REALLY like the lighting from the top left corner, it looks so bright, is that shopped in any way?
Glad you like it. And yes, it was shopped in as I am really lack of required skills to do sun glares/flares traditionally. [editline]3rd May 2013[/editline] Any tips to achieve it traditionally?
better? Tilt your head down and measure how much of your neck still shows below your chin. Her neck is too long, and should spread out into shoulders at about half the length it is now. Its looking better on shading, but your still outlineing around the eyes and the proportion is definitely still off (try making her eyes smaller). Push your shadows some more, they should go darker than that, it still looks pretty flat sicne you only have one value of shade on her face and neck for the most part. Again, go grab a reference photo it will help a lot with that.

hips are too wide, neck is too long, entire body below waist is too large. she also has no jawline. the clothing hang around the knees is nice tho.
Is he violent also?
Extremely. :v: You have a very nice comic style of linework.
I wrote my first 'real' poem, would anyone give me some CC? http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Kirbyfactor/1169394/
hips are too wide, neck is too long, entire body below waist is too large. she also has no jawline. the clothing hang around the knees is nice tho.
The body proportions are meant to be the exaggerated proportions of myself, I'm pear shaped meaning I have a massive ass/hips and thighs and a small waist and bust. Obviously how she is is completely unrealistic but it's what I was going for. I'll add a jawline though, and maybe make the neck smaller, (a bad habit of mine is making my people human giraffes.)

It's not recent but I recently un-unlisted it, so... There's a few Black Mesa (and I think OBM) devs in this vid.
