It's a grave digger! He digs graves. I can't wait until I can get my scanner to work so I can stop taking photos with my crappy phone camera
I like the rustic feel that those phone camera shots give it a rustic feel, making it look alot like those school house rocks.

I like it, reminds me of the ewoks. Definately more interesting than the copy/paste greenskin approach. Heres some kobolds.
that's an awesome approach on the kobolds too. i like how amphibious they look. they're a little bit creepy even. it's always cool seeing original takes on d&d monsters. i was thinking... what if we gather like 4 artists and re-illustrate AD&D's monstrous manual? not only we would get a lot of exposure, but it would be a learning experience for everyone involved. [editline]6th July 2014[/editline] made another goblin. [editline]7th July 2014[/editline] made another one. [editline]7th July 2014[/editline] last one for the night, a shaman. nite folks.
Just released our first mobile game. Wondering if I could get some feedback so I could possible improve upon the idea. Because apple, we've only got it on android at the moment: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coalescedigital.potholepatrol [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33714868/term2/7inch.jpg[/img_thumb]
goblins are always treated like homogenous foes, but in reality they're very tribal beings
Aye, those poor put-upon real goblins :/
i was thinking... what if we gather like 4 artists and re-illustrate AD&D's monstrous manual? not only we would get a lot of exposure, but it would be a learning experience for everyone involved.
This is a very sexy idea, personally I would be worried that my current level isn't anywhere near doing a project like that justice..
Im not the best artist here, but id be up for it.
awesome, i'll try and find other artists and i'll let you know. do you have skype/facebook? PM me if you're interested! [editline]7th July 2014[/editline]
This is a very sexy idea, personally I would be worried that my current level isn't anywhere near doing a project like that justice..
you could at least do a few creatures if you feel motivated, though!
I would love to do some creatures too. If you want to make a AD&D digital game, I can be the coder, but I don't think my art skill is up to the standard for creatures :(

[editline]7th July 2014[/editline] hey sprockethead, could you try and do a full illustration of a kobold with & without gear? i would add that to the thread. i'm going to draw a bulette right now.
hey sprockethead, could you try and do a full illustration of a kobold with & without gear? i would add that to the thread. i'm going to draw a bulette right now.
Ill give it a whirl.
What does "A" in AD&D stand for? I know what is D&D, but everything i get when i google AD&D is something like "accidental death and dismemberment".
What does "A" in AD&D stand for? And dude, I would be SO up for that. Here's what I'm working on right now.
I thought the pink object in his right hand was a dildo at first glance.
Aww yes, I managed to get myself in the positition to be drawing from 9-5 every day in summer now. Yay for convincing my parents to let me use one of their offices. Also that D&D idea sounds kickass.
I thought the pink object in his right hand was a dildo at first glance.
Client requested additions and warhammer 40k designs do not mix well. It should look less like a sex toy by the time I'm done.
awesome. i will do a thread later today and post the link here. here's the wip bulette, another D&D monster. [editline]7th July 2014[/editline] also known as land shark!
I like the D&D idea too.
Here is the thread for the collaborative re-illustration of AD&D's monstrous manual!
If you're up for it the thread's already up! All you have to do is put dibs on a creature and start painting!
I know this isn't anything fantastic, but I did my first ever real oil painting today. It's a boring subject, I know. But it was my first so I had to start simple!

I have a question regarding the brush in Photoshop. Do you usually use the pen pressure for opacity? When I try to do this in any sort of "speedpaint," my brush overlaps on itself in a weird way without me adding any pressure. Am I doing something wrong? Each of these strokes are pretty much the same pressure. When I try to do something like paint a hand, it looks awful.
I was scouted yesterday to be in a art gallery in New Orleans! I'm still in shock!
Pen pressure is usually the best way to shade. Brushes overlapping are just how photoshop overlaps brush opacities, you have to use custom brushes if you want to get a nicer effect, the default round brush is horrible imo. Try this brush (77px one) http://zedig.deviantart.com/art/My-brushes-346476394 with brush opacity on and see how you like it. I hear Corel is a much nicer painting software, I wanna try it soon.

EDIT: With a little more testing, I actually really like this brush.

Or draw well enough to help.
