So... Anyone have some links for getting started with photoshop?
Honestly, i'm not even sure what resolution/size i should use.
here's a wip on the tarrasque.

the protagonist characters don't read very well. i saw shape of the knight(?) straight away but i didn't realise what it was and then i've only just spotted the wizard and the other dude on the ground just now and this is like my forth time looking at the pic
rendering on the dragonbeastthing is excellent though and i like the perspective and sense of scale
actually, speaking of sense of scale, is this supposed to be taking place on a ravine edge? i've only just noticed that the backdrop is a fall into a canyon... i think? it probably needs more atmospheric perspective to sell it
i drew something

Reminds me of all the angry angsty yet incredibly prone to breakdowns painter women in my painting classes at my university. Literally there was a angsty girl that dressed just like that, overall shorts, no shoes ever in the studio, and would paint on herself while painting just to be visibly artsy the rest of the day after class. Good o'l art students, always so predictably unpredictable.

shit thanks that's exactly what we were going for. that and gta concept art
I have been trying to paint landscapes all day and everything I have produced sucks. :suicide:
Same man. I can't seem to concentrate on anything for longer than a few minutes, I should go see if I have adhd or some shit
I'm awful with backgrounds/landscapes too, I hate them
Maybe we all need to sit down in front of an easel and paint nature for a day or something
Just started on a piece that will be in my gallery on August 20th. This is the biggest canvas i've ever worked on. 24x30. I tend to work on anything between 6x9 and 18x24 (16x20 being my favorite.) But I plan on doing a 36x36 piece as well. :)

I honestly wish it were that simple
E: It took me way longer than it should have to find creationism corner with the new layout
i realize all of this, it's on purpose. on the last page the characters didn't stick out but that was a flaw. now they do stick out but not enough, because the focus of the painting should be the beast, not the characters, since it is an illustration of the tarrasque for the monstrous manual.
i hope i made this clear enough because i'm having a hard time with words today.
-snip-
I honestly think they stick out too much because they have too much detail. Same with the background. Also that spell is way too colorful and distracting. If it's an illustration for the monster the focus should be on it, not so much the action and surroundings. It reads more as a fight scene right now rather than a character design sort of concept, unless that's what you wanted.
what if you just huddled the party at the bottom (under a sort of shield spell, maybe) just so the thing seems more dangerous/threatening?
E: that probably wouldn't work with that pose, though..
I have a question regarding the brush in Photoshop. Do you usually use the pen pressure for opacity? When I try to do this in any sort of "speedpaint," my brush overlaps on itself in a weird way without me adding any pressure. Am I doing something wrong?
Each of these strokes are pretty much the same pressure. When I try to do something like paint a hand, it looks awful.

One thing I just started doing is using a square brush with spacing on 1% and linking opacity, size, and rotation to pen pressure. Ends up looking pretty fucking cool imo. Just can't show anything I did with it because stuff >.>
Who was the guy from facepunch that started Owlturd? Have you guys seen it lately, it's crazy popular. http://owlturd.com/
