Yeah the skill of a painter is in describing the subject in few marks, not many marks. Few is more difficult than many, and many is more difficult than thousands, and so on. If you render until it looks like a photograph you have wasted your time. You can't appreciate the marks in a piece like that, the only impressive thing about it is the fact that it was done painstakingly manually - ironically there is nothing of the artist that you can visually admire. Nobody will remember a painting like that. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline]
Some dancing. The moves are almost identical, but I couldn't decide which one to post + the tracks are good and worth a listen so.. enjoy :) Critique is very welcome. I'd also worry that in a club or wherever, you wouldn't be able to exercise your arm work since it's pretty expansive. Also can you do the footwork when you aren't in socks on a smooth wooden floor? Unless you just like to dance on your own, then none of that matters of course
I finally got a tablet, did some colouring practices. Never knew gray scale painting is a thing (ignorant, I know), still trying to figure it out. Any comment is appreciated.

What's with their noses? Especially the girl's one.
The only things I see: Guy: Features aren't correctly lined-up. Seem a bit "shifted". This can be seen easily at the cross of the centerline and eyeline plus the line under the nose. Girl: Eyebrows to nostrils are too short/nostrils to chin too long. The nose is too short in general. But this is me taking the artists' "standard" ideal faces. Measurements can be varied.
:v: eyebrowns
Cut me some slack mako i haven't used that word for ages. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline] Anyway what is a grayscale painting?
Anyway what is a grayscale painting?
it's when you fill in the shades in gray scale first before adding in colour using the magic of photoshop There're so many ways of doing this, I'm very overwhelmed

Thanks for pointing that out. My footwork would become alot worse if I had shoes, I never practice with them because the wooden floor starts to splinter like crazy when I do. I'd like to perform in front of an audience one day so I should find a way to practice with shoes on.. Haha when I'm in clubs I never dance seriously, just silly dances for fun. Thanks for the comment, alot of times everything you need to improve on is in the back of your mind, but you never really pay attention to improving it until someone points it out. The advice becomes tangible I guess. So thanks again!

So.. uhm.. Hi everyone! http://imgur.com/yY7iQcO I basicly wanted to start drawing a while ago, but only now I managed to get off of my lazy ass and actually do it. I used the tutorials some of you posted here which were rather useful (I especially liked Jazza's). I know that the hair is pretty crap (you can see I used two directons when drawing) and some of the proportions are a off, but I feel I'm on the right track. Criticism is always welcome. Next I'll try drawing the same face from the front and then maybe from a 3/4 angle. I also need to learn to shade properly. I tried doing it on the ear, but failed miserably.
Doing lots of studies, mainly focusing on improving my speed along with color and all that.
good stuff dude, great to see how you're improving. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline] colors look a bit muddy on the first one, are you using 100% opacity and relying only on pen pressure? it helps a lot during learning. when you know exactly what you're doing you can experiment with opacity but i don't recommend messing around with it on early stages.

this post goes out as a confession it doesn't matter how much i force myself to study smoke or light glares, i can't seem to get'em right. those are probably a couple features i'm giving up on ever mastering in this lifetime.

Rather than smudging a bunch of places in for darkness, think about where the light reaches in a direct path.
What's with their noses? Especially the girl's one.
Is that a rhetorical question? If I knew I wouldn't have drawn them wrong... Someone draw the noses on these people , i hate noses.

They're way too high up, especially the girl's nose
Oh yeah I always do that for some reason, you're right that looks much better.

This dude up there explained everything pretty well, anyways. Making studies is cool, but always check basic proportions, it's really useful.
This is my favourite scene from the video so far; ignore the crazy paper physics, I might fix it down the line, but I sorta like it in a weird way
While my stuff isn't exactly up to par with most of the stuff here, I've done some collaborations with my friend Gibbly. I outlined + colored a couple of sketches. I'm a beginner in digital art, hoping to get better. (I know the bug-dude's head is a bit fucked up) [t]http://puu.sh/ad1MV/65aa52008f.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/ad1Ol/93d5a894bf.jpg[/t]
i like these, i wish there was a cyber-punk game with that style. for some reason that's the first thing i think of when i see the first girl.
Woah why the hell does my tablet sometimes do 100% pressure when I'm just hovering it over the pad
i used to get that. i found a foolproof order of doing things (eg. pc on > tablet in > photoshop open) that avoided it but i can't remember exactly what it was anymore. maybe i just do it automatically now
It's even worse because it's not one full pressure hit, it's multiple, it's really horrible when it takes ages to undo the damage.
Here's a thing i'm working on for Senpai Club I think I'm getting a hang of this anime thing
I just wanted to try something. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline] study nipple anatomy
why would you be able to see her nipples when she's wearing clothes? senpai club is an all-ages anime if that was her skin then that would be some really loose and foldy skin on her arms she's only trying to seduce sensei-sensei, she can't get completely naked in class
