that's a very pretty painting. Perhaps the yellow bio luminescent mushrooms should put more yellow onto their surroundings (like they do on the grass underneath).

I've been using my tablet and nothing else to draw with for so many goddamn years, that I thought I'd go back to pen and paper to see if I still had it in me. (Sorry for the crappy picture quality. It was the best I could do.)

this might sound a bit harsh, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut:
That shading is so middle of the road it's actually a bit unpleasant to look at, play around with light sources and value/saturation
also the legs look like they end in stumps and she's got a fencemouth
The area of the head where the hair is has good plasticity, you implied the shape of the hair and with it the shape of the scalp very well. The same could almost be said about the body, but it's lost below the belt where everything goes flat at the butt area and most of her left upper leg. Her right arm is shaded oddly as well, I don't understand why it's completely dark, unless you were subconsciously compensating for the poor color contrast and wanted to make the face stand out better, it also doesn't have a shoulder plate (forgot the english word right now I think that's right). I can't get over that hair though, the shape is conveyed really neatly, you've got a feel for it, but you should practice more.
From a design standpoint, her wings should be a lot bigger to have more surface area and her claws should give off a better feeling of stability (they're a bit small)

I have to say, I completely disagree with the design change points. Mostly because this person was going for a form over function look and the way the legs taper to stubby feet... well, I think the dude's into that which is the whole point of the thread the character was designed for. As for the wings, why would she need more surface area? She's a damn chicken. What's she gonna do, fly with them? Perhaps Ye may have focused on realism for so long in your own work that you forgot that sacrifices can be made intentionally for the sake of the aesthetic when that's the main focus in other's works.
Despite that, I do agree with your points about the shading and lower body volume. Specifically the (her) left armpit is just sorta sticking out of the main form with no indication of it's third dimensional relationship. This could be solved with a simple line or something like that. Plus the darker value running down that armpit just sorta disappears when it probably should be followed through all the way down to her pant leg. Right now that shadow looks like a sweat stain. Plus, yeah, all the shadows are way too subtle and change more in saturation than they do in value, so they read to me more as discoloration than shadows.
That's all I got on this :s
Well the idea was the chin was the only human part but eh V:v:V
still think the helmet needs more space

never feel like you're being harsh! it's called constructive criticism for a reason, as long as i learn something from it, i won't be offended
i do have trouble with shading so I'll have to look up a few tips on it. do you have any tips i could use? and do you have any other shading tips i should know so there won't be any more flat areas?
and thank you so much for liking her head hahah it's actually what i spent the most time on
EDIT: so i messed with colors a bit. is this better?

Well, it looks like your shading and shape issues might stem from neglecting the volumes which make up the character and what's in front of what. I'd do a breakdown but in on my phone. Plus i'm pretty sure I'd butcher your established style.
Speaking of that, if anyone feels the need to red line my last post, specifically the shoulders and up, feel free.

Didn't really think about how his pose is supposed to make sense at first, but I'm probably gonna make it so he's rappelling or something.
