no but i can teach you my ways ;)

Well you know I've been trying to think of a justification for it since "I like to draw naked girls" sounds unprofessional so what I have currently is that she got out of the shower (hence why she's sitting on a towel thing) and never got dressed after that because she started watching TV and got distracted, which would fit her character? maybe? maybe i'll come up with something else
She's the fanservice character who cares whatever
Yeah don't worry about it. I don't really see anything unprofessional about "I like to draw naked girls." The unprofessional part is trying to make an excuse for it.
Just do it man.

Yeah, real talk. Drawing naked women is pretty much a near staple of art history. Try and draw from studies though. Repeatedly drawing naked women will actually help your proportions and anatomy in the long run down the road.
-Woops I didn't read Ross's post well. I think we're actually in agreement snip snip snip-

I do, but sometimes you just have to draw some naked anime girls from your imagination

Do you go to school or went or are you self taught?
This year my painting and illustration classes are great, I'm working with this guy Tristan Elwell and he's really into digital painting and knows pretty much everything about Photoshop and computers and he's letting us work digitally in class for figure paintings and for projects. It's so great, maybe I can finally start diving more into digital painting this year.
"My son… Come closer." He says, reaching out with an emaciated hand. His arm shakes from the effort, reaching blindly for a hand that will not receive.
He does not go closer, shaking in fear. He fears for the infection, he fears that even getting near him will end in tears, he fears for his father, he FEARS. But he reachs out to grab his father’s hand, just as it falls from the strain. He feels the callusses on his father’s hand, born from years of physical toil, a stark contrast to his own, soft and unmarked hand.
His father takes a rasping breath and coughs, blood splattering the already saturated cloth in front of his face.
"You - you must be strong for me, my son. Take care of your mother," he says. His lips, torn and crusty from days of dried blood, tear open into a wry grin. "I suspect she’d go crazy without my nagging."
He is silent.
"Father, surely there is something-" He starts.
"No!" His father interrupts firmly, wheezing heavily. "You have already tried so much for so long, I fear for your own health. Don’t waste any more time on this crusty old man." He lets out a breathless chuckle that turns into hacking coughs that send his spine contorting into twisted arches.
His breaths are laboured now. His hand struggles to lift higher.
He cups his son’s cheek, brushing away the tears with a thumb.
"I’m so proud of you, Gregory. So, so very proud."
The hand drops.

Do you go to school or went or are you self taught?

both, i guess going to school wouldn't have helped me that much if i didn't ever look for books/refs myself or created my own painting routine. it did help me but i saw more progress as i learned stuff my way if that makes any sense.

Seriously, you're on fucking art steroids.
remember when mentor did a semi-decent study of an alien
that was only like 6 months ago and now he's better than all of us
[editline]13th September 2014[/editline]
so let that inspire everyone
Or depress you to hell at how inapt you are at improving even with lots of work
Let us all conglomerate into a single creative entity so we shall defeat MenteR.

Side note: my wrist injuries are slowly getting better. Thinking of starting a sidescroller in Unity. Would you guys be keen to see my progress if I posted in this thread?

There's a Unity thread but it's pretty programming heavy, you're probably good posting here if it's general stuff

not really! it's a pretty innovative FPS. i'm genuinely super excited to be working on this because i know it's gonna be a hit. i can't wait until we show it to public.
and there ain't gonna be no kickstarter, which is great imo. (from our progress kickstarter seems very unlikely to ever be necessary)
[editline]13th September 2014[/editline]
also thanks everyone, it really made my day seeing how everyone digs the concepts. i love u all <3
I haven't painted for a couple of months because I was fed up with everything looking shit. Got some renewed motivation and spent 45 mins drawing something I saw posted on reddit.

I've been in denial for a while now about my artistic ability, thinking I can get by on a purely technical basis without acknowledging that in actuality all the best artists in any field usually have at least some fundamental fine art experience
When it comes to reproducing existing things in 3D I can deal just fine, but I've been having this problem for a while now where when I try to create anything 'original' I can see the potential form and detail in my head, but can't translate it when it comes to pencil on paper or vertex on screen
Could a kind soul send me some resources like recommended books or general tips or something for drawing via PM? I'm looking for stuff now, I just want to start on the best possible foot

I didn't know a good place to post, sorry if this is bloggish
I've got a question here for anyone who uses airbrushes. (assumed this was the right place to ask, sorry if it isn't) I've recently made the plunge with what my friend recommended as a good first brush and compressor. I've seen lots of tutorials, but all of them vary slightly, including/excluding certain things, and I want to know, what is the best tutorial, that covers everything about airbrushing I need to know as a beginner. (This is for model kits by the way, not facepainting/cake decorating/regular painting, just to make sure you don't link tutorials to that :v:)
Also, would a model making/painting thread fit in here, or would it do better in fast threads/general discussion/perhaps DIY?
There's sure to be a warhammer thread or similar in like, GGD or somewhere if that's close to what you're up to

I'm in the exact same boat. This is the response I got:

So that's what I've been doing.
