What is it you want to do?
For a beginner life is better than ref. You shouldn't learn how to draw per se from ref, photostudies are better used to practice a painting style or to better understand how something appears. The problem of not being able to transfer ideas from your head onto paper is one that takes a lot of overcoming. You only get minute composite flashes of things in your head, not perfect pieces of art (even if it seems that way). You have to work and work and work until you think so much in shapes and composition that you can identify these things from the almost-nothing that your mind's eye gives you, then you can get the beginnings of a sketch down that is somewhere close to what you imagined and use your hard-earned knowledge and skill to develop that.

I love that one. Bosnia?

So that's what I've been doing.
I've ordered a couple recommended books to get the technique down and I plan to start drawing from life regularly to get my eye in

interesting, this one reminds me of dishonored, but you probably get that a lot.
The vehicle seems to be in wrong perspective than the rest. But I like the VHS effect. :)

These two I like the most. Second one seems like it's full artwork for an entire cover of a sci-fi book from the late 80s. As in the left side is the back and the right side is the front cover.
My gallery last month :)

Looks very internally based that first one
The skull thing could be great, have you downloaded and used it yourself?
I'm going to GM a scifi campaign set in the freespace 2 timeline (literally all the stats are in, so I barely have to design anything which makes it a nice break campaign), but there's no ship that would really fit as the player ship (they will pick between a vasudan or terran ship). So I started making one.

I'm going for 2 as the terran one and 4 as the vasudan one, since they each fit the style the most.

felt like painting it being chased by a Herc MkII, because it's fun
worked on two environment concepts for a game i'm working on. both are still studies though, first one is the rough sketch and the 2nd one contains obviously more refined ideas. these are so we figure out exactly what kind of assets we'll need to produce for this map.

OMG, you are the man!
Feels like Prince of Persia though, the art style, the scene, and the color.

I don't know why, but I really like this. The actual schoolgirl is abysmal compared to the rest of it, though. Mostly her figure being borked. Do some figure and anatomy studies. There's quite a bit of proportion and perspective issues, namely the right line of the road being too far to the left and the items on it being very small.
I think you might have poked the nostalgia centers of my head, it reminds me of this artist from our country that did a shit ton of illustrations for loads of books and magazines I read when I was little, it annoyed the shit out of me for some reason.
I can't remember what his name is though.
It did remind me of Zvonko Čoh though
who does weird shit like this
I am very sorry for having a mini memory shakedown over here
but seriously though, look at her fucking face
the hell

Whoa flashbacks, I remember you. Moved on to hand drawn art, but similar subject matter.
My eye for critique isn't that developed yet, but that is the tallest telephone pole I've ever seen.

Been texturing all day, decided to draw a birdy and experiment with coloring
Didn't do background cuz I'm tired
Found some old drawings, one from 2 years ago, the other from 5 years ago. For fun decided to redraw them.

Doing an assignment for school where we have to take an IP that isn't a video game and make a piece of concept art for if it were a game. It's still in the rough stage but I'm feeling pretty good about it.

What's so abysmal about her proportions? I would appreciate something more specific, since I'm blind and I can't draw.
Try flipping the canvas and/or blacking her in to see the silhouette. She looks a bit like a zombie-ish monster with the arms

I was flipping the canvas every 2 minutes of drawing, still couldn't find anything awful. Maybe she looks wrong because of her awkward pose?
Not a fan of that brushwork
why?
