Was kinda joking, I'll be doing both anyways.
Focus on paper first. It teaches techniques that tablet work ruins
[img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/4kofhrldp2p24uw/chuggachuggachugga.jpg[/img_thumb] today was shotgun day
I love your art, every time you post one of these pen drawings I instantly know it's you and they are fucking awesome.
Frankenstein done for Sketch_Dailies. The anatomy is kind of poo but I don't mind.
Not at first, but about ten minutes in I was thinking "Huh this looks exactly like V for Vendetta". Edit: Accidentally avoiding feet since 2013. Just started this comp after watching some Nidhogg gameplay and listening to the Dark Souls soundtrack [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8oXq7Gq.png[/IMG_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/296/1/2/dick_by_mikesta95-d83v15j.jpg[/img_thumb] any crit?
Head too small, silly ambiguous lighting, all-over questionable anatomy, all-over nasty soft brushes. gradient
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8oXq7Gq.png[/IMG_thumb]
I think this has potential, I really like the silhouette of the giant, but you def need to open up the canvas. Cropping the legs of both figures is just awful compositionally
Maybe you should try a different brush
I disagree, I like the impasto he's getting with this one
impasto =/= texture And the texture in that brush is really gross imo, scaly and flaky and yuck straight from Diseases Brush Pack IV
Yeah, I use a similar brush when I want to paint monsters.
I think this has potential, I really like the silhouette of the giant, but you def need to open up the canvas. Cropping the legs of both figures is just awful compositionally
Don't worry, I'm going to put his legs in clouds and fade them out. It fixes the cut off problem, though if you see otherwise please say so. I don't usually do compositions haha
I challenge you to find a nice artwork wherein the bottom of the picture plane chops the principal character in half at the waist :v:
Haha maybe the giant is the principal character! Now that I'm not thinking about the clouds, I do realize that the knight was one of the main focal points. I'm going to make him smaller and place him farther into it.
impasto =/= texture And the texture in that brush is really gross imo, scaly and flaky and yuck straight from Diseases Brush Pack IV
Impasto tends to lend a certain texture to the strokes if seen as a flat surface, as we do digitally I like it

I don't really know, but it seems to me like you are either using too thin paper or too much water. Maybe both.
So yeah, attempted to draw a face from the front for pretty much the first time ever. I... need some improvement :v: [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52116717/screenshots%20and%20images/Doodle/videogamereference.jpg[/t] Anyone got any feedback on the head/face?
Heads are complex combinations of forms. don't expect to be able to produce a good head if you can't manage a cube or cylinder. It's too early for you to attempt portraiture or anything like it, do primitive shapes from life to build your skills.

Another thing, and I swear I don't mean this as a personal attack, but try not to make excuses or downplay problems with your work by saying things like 'this was a quick sketch', or, in your case, "without a reference while trying to sleep". It's great that you're accepting criticism but trying to make excuses for yourself or any of your artistic shortcomings is a horrible practice to make into a habit, especially if you hope to be a professional artist/anything some day. And there's a difference between saying 'you're right I am not very good at x' or 'I didn't know how to do y'- versus saying 'I was tired' or 'I didn't spend very long/try very hard'. Hopefully you see what I'm saying.

Shapes constantly and drastically change according to the viewer's position, forms remain pretty consistent.

Wondering if you guys could choose your favorites out of this collection of silhouettes? :D [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8557473/facepunch/Sils.png[/img_thumb] There edits of a stylized revolver I drew. Gonna be making a spaghetti western turret for my next 3D project (turret project).
1, 2, or 3

I rly like 6
3 is kooky i like it
Map I made for my DND group: [t]http://www.kenoncreative.com/images/MAP.jpg[/t] Some of the colours got messed up when I uploaded it, but it's pretty much it.
