I thought that as well
And I still think it
because he did
Give him some dreadlocks and say its the Jamaican Chainsaw Massacre version cause the chainsaw already looks like a blunt.
for a moment there, I thought you drew that guy from Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Truth be told, I forgot Leatherface wore the tool apron. I only had ref pictures of him in the suit.
I knew some chainsaw wielding character wore a work apron but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Right, made some better silhouettes. Thanks for the help on the previous stuff. I think these are a lot better and I'm certainly happier with them than the last lot.
Any ones that particularly stand out?

Made this for the Weekly challenge over at PixelJoint. The theme was stormy night. If you have an account, vote for me!

6 is really funky and cool, 3 is really nice and sleek. What are you using them for? That might help make the decision easier

Oh yeh of course. On my course at the moment we just started a 3 week project where we have to design a sentuary turret. We have absolute creative freedom (for the first time on the course) so i decided to make a spaghetti western, day of the dead (the holiday not the film) themed turret stylized to an extent in a similar way to TF2 (everything is basically a caricature and I think thats really creative).
My mood board is actually on the University network, but this poster is a good indicator of my colour pallet.

In terms of the structure heres a very quick bash of what I had in my mind after making my mood board. It's really bad but I was just getting the idea down.

My idea is to have a set of 3 revolvers that rotate on a belt driven mechanism, like they would be coming up from a quick draw. The whole machine is powered by an early car engine which will shake and manically rattle, the big thing at the top is going to be a day of the dead skull that can say some basic phrases, like the ammo machine in Bioshock, just not racist. (it works there but in my project something like that would just be out of place and bad)

I don't draw nearly consistently enough, too busy with writing.

Now isn't that better
3 is obviously the coolest, because it has the longest barrel, but probably change the trigger so you can actually fire it
I agree, it's even been mentioned before but you've consistently neglected to consider that you need to be able to fit your finger INSIDE the trigger guard to actually pull the trigger. The only designs that actually facilitate this are 2 5 and 6, which are almost too large (but not quite), whereas every other guard is much too small.
i dunno about that
the mauser c96's trigger guard is almost as small as those

Yeh, I think you might be right. I think the reason they turned out this way is because I was thinking of the guns as parts of my turret rather than weapons on their own. Just an oversight while designing basicly. I do think though that its more important that they look interesting in this case. I dunno...

Well if you don't need to be able to hold it in your hand at all, then there's quite a lot you should change. First and foremost the title of your image. But if it's a revolver, which is what they're titled and what they look like, and it's meant to be used like a revolver which is a firearm shot by a human being with their hand, I might make sure it's functional in that capacity. I dont' know why you'd mount one on a turret, but if that's what you want to do, I guess go for it.

I'm designing turret that draws some similarity from a human form I guess. Its not being designed as a particularly serious weapon of warfare, since I think doing something like that would be pretty boring.
It's fine that it's not serious, there's literally nothing wrong with that. What I'm saying is basically that we, as viewers, had no idea that your intent was to have them used by a 'human looking turret' and so, when you labeled these designs as 'revolvers' I assumed they were just revolvers to be used as normal revolvers are.
If you'd said 'I'm coming up with a concept for a revolver-like weapon to be used by a humanlike turret' (which makes no sense and could do with some elaboration) the critiques would have been so much more relevant and helpful. For example "if it's a turret why would it have such a limited ammo source, since it doesn't need to be so transportable when it's mounted in a stationary manner" instead of irrelevant critiques like "a person couldn't shoot this".
Do I make sense?

The burning plane could use a bit more work. Maybe place it at more of an angle so it looks more dynamic and goes with the spinning smoke.
Yeah, now that you mention it the distant plane just looks very messy overall, especially compared to the quality and detail of the rest of the painting.
you fucking gun nerd biscuit

Do you mean the plume of smoke, the actual plane, or both?
Mostly just the shape of the plane. It looks entirely like 7 rectangles rather than a plane, so I would hope that's one of the more WIP aspects of the image (I admit I didn't notice you said it was, in fact, WIP at the time I commented so I don't mean to insult your intelligence, I'm sure you were planning on adding more detail)
[editline]31st October 2014[/editline]
Oh and as for the smoke, I'm conflicted. I know I've seen super dark, almost pitch black smoke plumes before, but my brain says that it wants to see more sunlight reflecting off of it to maybe give it some more depth- BUT again I don't know how accurate that would be. Someone else probably knows all 'bout that smoke though.

I'll see what I can do about it tomorrow

I made a The Walking Dead intro with L4D style, it's the first serious thing I do with Premiere.
But I feel I'm not done yet, there's still stuff to improve.

First of all, your description was a bit misleading. When I read it I thought you mixed the Walking Dead's intro to look like L4d's intro, but what you did was the exact opposite, you made a montage in l4d with TWD's style.
Secondly, some of the scenes had some rewind that was extremely obvious that it should look like it was rewinding (specifically, the underground train scene. I never watched TWD so I can't really say if that was intentional or not)

Sorry, maybe I should change the description, ive been drinking now so my english isnt the best, neither is my grammar
Secondly, the The Walking Dead intros are very abstract, rewinding clips, zoom-ins on specials items etc., slowed down and sped up clips, you know all that kinds of shit.
Just did this for my digital painting course, probably not the best but it's the first full project that I've done with a tablet.
