He isn't, I just wanted to draw something aliens related since i never really do and he gave us one project where we were allowed to make a drawing based on anything. Also about the values, whenever i fill it in fully i can never erase to get the contrast bright enough so I was only filling in parts I was sure I wasn't gonna want bright, you think I need a new eraser or maybe the paper (since I've already tried like 3 different erasers)?
Have you tried a kneadable eraser? those are pretty great
[img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8557473/facepunch/3d/Final_renders.png[/img_thumb] Heres how that turret turned out, its fully animated, so I might capture that and upload it in a bit. Edit: 5k tris and 1024 texture sheets

I started drawing a bit more seriously for the first time since high school, which is almost 5 years ago. Here's a portrait wip. Sorry for poor lighting etc
A while back I started doing cross-stitching as a means of stress-mitigation (I worked a bad job at the time). Being just oh-so-original I found that liked doing NES sprites (limited color palette, small-scale project, etc). Figured I'd share one and then maybe post more later if anyone wanted to see. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/D57QQI4.jpg[/thumb] I took a long break but recently decided to pick it up again. If anyone wants an NES sprite stitched, I could give it a shot (I have the entire NES palette in thread)
Not sure if I should post this here or in the graphic design thread(I don't dabble much in creationism corner), but I made a poster [t]http://puu.sh/cVmky/9299d0e2c9.png[/t] Any thoughts?

And trying a new brush...
Another assignment, tried some new techniques with this one. I'm really happy with how it turned out :D *Click for larger size*
Tryin' out new things
Still male from neck up
idk why anyone would disagree. It's a horribly generic and formulaic way to draw a face. I would recommend looking at the indie comic scene if you want to see what other people are doing and try to distinguish yourself eventually somehow.
another fun composition. not sure if i actually like this one though.
Still male from neck up
i dont think thats a problem since the character still reads as a tomboy i assume thats what the artist was trying to achieve
another fun composition. not sure if i actually like this one though.
Probably cause it feels super unbalanced and awkward cause of that diagonal clashing with the verticals. Almost looks like its leaning on it. E: Here's some ink concept stuff
Haven't posted my stuff here for a while. So, have this futuristic robber dude, based on payday's guys and that suit guy from killing floor. [t]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/321/9/3/robber_by_skoparov-d86nssw.jpg[/t]
has anyone ever made their own sketchbook? i might just pick a random guide online and do one whenever i manage to go buy all the things i need for one
i dont think thats a problem since the character still reads as a tomboy i assume thats what the artist was trying to achieve
Tomboys don't look like boys, they look boyish.
Idk how much of you guys are into this sort of thing, but me and a friend are in a google hangout and we're working on stuff. We find we're more productive when there's people "around" https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/g2xux65vzbvig7moehqexhfv2qa?hl=en_US So, jump in!... (?)
I tend to be a bit more productive when there are people around. Part of me thinks it's because there's an 'audience'
then get the dick in here
First day of doing cross-stitching since the World Cup :v: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Yddex3O.jpg[/thumb] It's Ridley from the NES Metroid.
There's far too much good art in this thread; allow me to fix that: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Qdc8IM5.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/FhISWjx.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/eTS82vw.png[/t] (please ignore the gross pencil mark I accidentally left in on the third image) It's my first time actually trying to draw something serious in about three years, and as too be expected, it's butts. I feel like the proportions are close, but still a bit wonky (especially in the arms [especially-especially in the arm to the left]). My lines are shaky and probably the farthest thing from smooth, I chicken scratch whenever I try to add musculature (and by extension, said musculature looks like elementary lumps), and my feet/hands are just lazy placeholders. The pose also looks infinitely 2D with zero depth. The crotch also seems a tad wide.

Babbu's first digital drawing. This is the first thing I've drawn in photoshop that I'm even remotely happy with. Impressive? From someone with no formal training in any art form, I like to think that it's a little impressive. I mean I'm not terribly happy with the perspective and I might edit in in the future, see if I can shade; for someone whose barely ventured beyond no. 2 pencils and the margins of their class notes before, it's pretty exciting trying all these new things.

If you want to do something more developed it's important to understand the bones for example before you try to simply them. Same with muscles, same with everything

Think about bones - you have the ribcage in the upper torso but the lower torso is just muscles and innards. You can bend your torso because there are no solid bones between your ribs and your pelvis. I generally draw a trapezoid for the torso, then a line connecting that to the pelvis when sketching out wireframes for bodies.
