First shot at a landscape / seascape. Got bored with it when it was done, so I added something...extra. Crits most welcome, no ref just me trying out something new for a change, though I enjoyed this so much I'll whip up some refs next time to make it better looking.

Working with some ideas, help a brother out with some suggestions. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45707598/robots.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45707598/drawings/robutt_2.png[/t]
that's an awesome helmet/head thinger, I'm reminded of the jet from stealth kind of. Objectheads are cool not a fan of the shoulder radar bulb thing though
Yeah, if you made it more like a sleek pauldron, it'd look much better
Maybe a shoulder radome would be better for a bigger robot thing?
i spent the past 4 hours drawing something and generally wasting my time trying to light it but maybe it's good [t]https://38.media.tumblr.com/b477a1e1a9e845eb22fae0d7a3c164eb/tumblr_ngnnx184ec1r3e2fho1_1280.png[/t] plus an unlit version to show off more of the "detail" (or lack thereof) [t]https://33.media.tumblr.com/b3e00b215cf37b6409911787587542c2/tumblr_ngnnx184ec1r3e2fho2_1280.png[/t]
I like the purple.
really love that brain-dog thing, looks terrifying dont know if you guys remember the concepts i did earlier in the thread but here is the finished illustration for the goblins vs gnomes art competition.
looks great dude you did a great job with the illumination, it must be just me though, but his right arm looks really small to me rather than its being pointed frontwards

First time I've posted here in aaaaages. have this quick giant. [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8557473/shadow.png[/img_thumb]
cant see anything
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sGnYw9e.jpg[/t] I made another one, mostly because I wanted to see if I could actually repeat the small amount of success I had with the last piece to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. Quite happy with the result. I worked in 16-bit depth, so it suffers from a lot less contrast-noise and gradient banding.

[img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8557473/shadow.png[/img_thumb]
and my next piece, polar bear in a snowstorm I like the concept you were aiming for but it's a bit too empty. The tree at the bottom helps to grant it a general scale (though it's a bit too hidden), but the vague lines toward the top don't feel like they contain any form. Needs a bit more hinting to indicate if that's a head, or if he's super hunched and that's just the bulk of his shoulders and his head is pointed off to the side, etc [editline]16th December 2014[/editline]
Maybe a shoulder radome would be better for a bigger robot thing?
forgot to respond to this earlier- I think it looks out of place partially because the rest of the design is sleek. You've got a thin/fit character with minimal armor/bulk clothing and an aerodynamic looking head thinger, then a giant stonking bell glued on top it would probably look more at home on a character who is designed to look bulky and utilitarian instead of a fast stealthy spy looking character
We made these music videos a while back, I don't know if you guys like it but i think the music is very well produced and catchy. We poke fun at the whole "depressing, sad, serious and deep" genres of music. The music is all produced by the guy with the long hair and im the dude who sings in the first one. Part 1 Part 2 I think i like part 2 the most.
I've noticed after reading this thread for a while that you guys really discourage petting your lines. Would this be an OK thing for a beginner to do or would it just be better developmentally to go for the single, solid lines?
it's almost always inadvisable, especially if you want to learn to draw digitally 'properly', but tbh if you're just starting out and wanting to draw some cool shit i wouldn't actively discourage most practices, if that makes sense like, the main thing for you as a beginner artist is to enjoy yourself and learn stuff through trial and error. it can be difficult to get out of bad habits, yes, but if you learn by 'proper artistry 101' you might never have any fun and never flourish as an artist. so at this point i'd say do what ever the fuck you want

It will all really help you if you can stick it. but as chesty said if you can't don't worry about it, all of that shit is hard and frustrating, especially for a beginner
but dont take my word for granted. if i were to speak my true mind and of my experiences that have lead to me somehow being a professional games developer (lmao) then i'd get fuckin burned alive in this thread try to have fun though

[t]http://i.imgur.com/hkrkXQi.png[/t] WIP Deinonychus, based loosely on a Raven. Dark purple would work as a dawn/dusk cover in a jungle-like environment.

I tried to draw Tracer from Overwatch and I don't think I captured her cuteness at all.
I'm not entirely sure what part of my post was "meme reply" and that I got banned for it but okay, I won't argue. Here's some WIPs I help this one guy with his novel by trying to illustrate his characters [T]http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/320/d/5/main_trio_by_maniac_kagesenshi-d86dpli.jpg[/T] [T]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2014/327/2/8/oleg_by_maniac_kagesenshi-d87dgo3.jpg[/T] If you see something similar it's because I use photographs and various videogame art as references as 'how to pose characters' and such.
