I'm not entirely sure what part of my post was "meme reply" and that I got banned for it but okay, I won't argue.
so wait, they can ban you for using this slang? Not that i use it very often, but this is kind of strange.
Also, don't want to get banned for spam, so have this dude. It's a pretty old piece, but i believe i haven't posted it here before.

I rarely ever post but I'm in need of some thorough critiques to work off of.
Thow most of them are messy sketches/doodles, any inputs good.
Also if you can't find any reference of a torso in the pose you need, does that mean your pose is bad.

I made another one, mostly because I wanted to see if I could actually repeat the small amount of success I had with the last piece to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. Quite happy with the result. I worked in 16-bit depth, so it suffers from a lot less contrast-noise and gradient banding.
can someone photoshop goatse hands on there? tia
I feel like i fucked up the side view, or maybe it's just the lack of armsthat's upsetting me? Also trenchcoat looks like shorts

Made a little thing. I'm not much of an artist so I feel like I don't know what I'm doing most of the time.

Decided to have a little fun with the anatomy on this one. Like everything north of his nipples is there to anchor his head.

Is there a better tag for images? [t][/t] makes it so small, and I don't want to flood the screen with one image either.
Edit:
The full size isn't that big you'd have been alright img tagging it. There's no alternative to thumbing other than cropping or resizing the pic itself
Oh cool. Just didn't want to post it at full size if it would cause problems.

Testing out some different spots for shooting time lapse photography. I'm considering building a mounting rig that will allow me to place the camera right at the peak of my house.

People at my place just moved on from using Facebook for whatever reason.
I'm shocked that people other than old geezers still use that site :v:

I wish this was reality fb is such a shitty website, I would rather use something else (that everyone else would also use)
I've added like 100 artists on facebook, it's fantastic. Sometimes I would see an artist I really like and it would be like "85 mutual friends" lmao. Literally my news feed is just art.
Hi guys and girls and assorted Ewoks
I'm doing commissions because art is wonderful and also my flatmate can't pay rent no more so I gotta make some extra dolla dolla, you holla? My main audience is the DA community (who I guess would use the images in their own work or as inspiration for stories, etc), but anybody is welcome. I got some friends who are pretty popular in the commission game to make a couple of polls with examples of my work to figure out prices. Currently they start at $10USD for a rough black-and-white painting, to $40 for a polished colour image.
All of the info is in this convenient DeviantArt journal entry: link

although DA is a good starting point it is definitely the lowest rung of the ladder. the prices you're offering there are basically theft. like i know it feels like all you're doing is booting up your computer and painting, so therefore it's easy money, but if you think about your hourly rate it's pretty awful. like lets assume it takes you 6hrs to do a $40 polished image, you're working for less than $7 an hour... which is less than people work in mcdonalds for, and you're a skilled practitioner of the arts, not someone who flips burgers
obviously getting work elsewhere and at a proper fee is easier said than done - most freelance work comes from the 'secret' job market in that it isn't advertised and it's more about connections. but if you want to maybe pursue art as a more serious career it can't hurt to start looking for those connections now. so join painting communities on facebook and more serious art forums, create sketchbook threads, add artists on facebook, comment on work, find art directors via email or twitter and ask them politely for portfolio reviews, stuff like that. also try looking for low-level publishers (and their art director, if they have one) and send your portfolios out to them, either asking for reviews or for possible work
the lowest i'll go on a freelance wage is £50 for a polished painting or a full-fledged 3D model or whatever, and that's more like a favour for a friend. i've done work for as much as £30 an hour which is actually a fairly normal freelance wage
