sure, any specific colour or background colour?
[editline]5th January 2015[/editline]
and exact resolution if you want?
OK, I know this probably isn't the best place to ask but I thought you guys might remember the painting that I'm trying to find. It's the painting where there's an island with bunch of tall, thin trees, with a rocky clif in a rough "c" shape surrounding all sides of the island except the perspective of the viewer. There might've been a building or a small boat but I don't fully remember. It's a famout painting iirc and it's been parodied a few times.
And here's another one, these take me too long!

What you have there is fine.
1920 X 1080 - I don't have any fancy resolution screens :(

Very much Triplane Turmoil, was that the inspiration? I like the art style.
This is by no margin a work of art but I though I'd share it as I have hidden 2 words of morse code in it. It's a small part of my whole scene so it most likely wont be noticeable in the full frame.

No one's tried yet so i'll just tell you. It simply states "Diane Sucks" - now this is a submission going to said person, whom which everyone hates and is justifiably shit at everything. Fucked everyone over this semester by giving us dud information and contradictions. She's managed to balls up a whole other course too.
People are also hiding cacti in their animations as a nod to a foreign student stating that she wanted to bring in one of her cacti so that she can give it to Diane to stick where the sun don't shine.
A group of us are meeting with the head of tutors next week to discuss what the hell happened this semester. Everyone feels shafted.

Thanks! Our main source of inspiration was the 1985 DOS game Sopwith, but that style of game has been replicated so much we're hardly doing anything original.
Out of boredom and some random pics made a concept art. I guess turned out good for random thing.

That's amazing. I doubt anybody will figure it's morse code though - it looks like pretty much the standard design for a cartoon log texture. Maybe if the dots/dashes were all a standardised length and shape

Yeah my friends seemed to like it. I made it deliberately hard to distinguish from the rest.
Here's where it is for those that can't see it:

Excuse the poor work - this is only my second animation, ever - but here is the scene, sadly it's not exactly visible but it's the idea that counts.

gracious me, the days of flash animation and gradients
I know gradients are lame, but I have no experience with vector graphics - nevermind animating in flash.
Anyone ever use Mandelbulb?

looks like a pretty powerful generator/renderer, very solid looking geometry and powerful atmospheric control
was just ranting to a friend (who brought your post up to me) though, for years I've been preached to by, or recieved job applications from, a very niche type of individual who is borderline obsessive over fractals, but doesn't have any portfolio showing 3D skills outside of random frac generators and maybe a pet project done in milkshape
fractals are really neat, but I just don't understand people sometimes, heh
Fractals are quite fascinating, as the thought of infinitely detailed geometry you can zoom into forever is enthralling. However, I find that most fractal art is guided by the application and not the artist. You twist some knobs and enter some values with little idea what the outcome will be. You just keep fiddling until you get something that's aesthetically pleasing, but doesn't have much artistic merit.
They interest me because they can be beautiful, but I can't really see any active design choices in them personally.

That's just my limited experience anyway. There may be quite a few people who know exactly what they're doing. I'm just not one of them, and don't know any either.
here's a thing i did

there's something i don't like about it so slam me with your poop
[sp]ps - sorry for the tumblr watermark[/sp]
I was watching Star Trek on Netflix and spent 5 minutes being creative

I guess what little artistic talent I had hasn't completely drained yet, because what I sketched is still recognizable

why would u need a cintiq to do a photo study
why would u need a cintiq to do a photo study
Because I suck dick at multitasking and quoted the wrong post. Fixed
if you can't use a regular tablet i can guarantee you can't use a cintiq. i know a lot of new artists think that using a cintiq will solve all the problems you have with using a tablet, but most artists i know (including myself) have more difficulty using a cintiq than just a nice ordinary intuos pro.
any intuos will allow you to view your art unobstructed, you won't have to replace the screen if it gets scratched or broken and you don't have to use silly screen protectors and stuff that ruin the feel of your brushstrokes. as long as you treat it with care, even a £40 model will be as valuable to your work as a cintiq.

Its fun to mess with especially if you get a hang of the formulas and can start controlling the output, and the lighting and stuff is quite fun to mess with. You can generate some basic structures and terrain or more complex geometry if you know how http://fmacmanus.com/city-of-order/

That's quite amazing. I can now accept fractal-generators as a viable tool for artists to get an idea across. Thanks!
little piece called "Portal to Neverwinter", i spent more time than i should have playing around with effects, but still:
