Man, ya'll are awesome. Thanks for drawing and sharing.
Okay, I'm going to leave this like this tonight and come back to it in the morning. C&C. Do it.
Extremely muddy, and a very narrow value (and colour) range. The sky is dark even though the sun is visible in the picture? and I'm not sure but that horizon looks tipped a bit to me Also problem comp, it doesn't feel dynamic to me, just feels like it's been prodded over to the left and everything is going to slide off the canvas. All of your line use and the arrangement of all the shapes and forms and strokes and EVERYTHING is pulling the eye down into that bottom corner.
i think you all can see that i draw the door on a different day XD

Trying Adobe Flash (with little photoshop editing) [t]http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/9004/nastiay.jpg[/t] [t]http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/4748/yasia.jpg[/t]
ooohhoooohhh, I like! On another note, I was coming back from GEMUCON in the uk (had to go early, sadface D:) and on the train on the way back the girl a few seats ahead of me on the oposet side of the isle was asleep. So! I did what any man would do...drew her and as quietly as I could placed the drawing on the table in front of her for when she woke up. I had to go before she saw it, but my god I wish Id seen her face :L
Should've put your number on that shit
Next time! And I'm recording when they wake up.....fucking hell, this doesn't seem funny any more, it just sounds frighting

In game graphic with minor photoshop touchups. did this i hope it reads a bit better than some of my previous pieces

This is real nice! Remember though that the faces being hit by light on the right side of the image will bounce that light into the shadowed area on the left, brightening it Try looking at photos of alleyways in the city where the sun is shining down on one of the walls and see how that light bounces around inside the alleyway

Not 100% keen on the full circle. The wires work to great effect with the piece as a whole but they're messing with the scale of the buildings a bit for me. As Mal said the light is too cut off on the left, in broad daylight without a cloud to be seen there'd be lots of ambient light.
[editline]7th April 2013[/editline] eh. it looked way cooler when i did it. oh well.
Here's a thing I made the actual order and workflow of it was very clumsy but I shouldn't doodle at two in the morning anyway [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] ooh, also some old doodles none of them have any sort of texturing, they're a bit older than the above [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/ESftRa.png[/t] [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/wwWxR7.png[/t] [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/a1o4m3.png[/t]
In my free time, I decided to make a game that looks like a CGA Mario clone for DOS from around 1986. The scrolling is choppy, only 4 colors, PC Speaker. The only liberty I've taken is that it runs in 640 x 480, because 320 x 240 fullscreen doesn't run right on my PC. I was wondering if anyone thinks the turtle enemy would look better with a solid color shell. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/lW55je.png[/t] Well I have school in three hours, so instead of sleeping here's an unfinished thing
In my free time, I decided to make a game that looks like a CGA Mario clone for DOS from around 1986. That's an interesting limit, by the way
Decided to draw something for the first time in a good few months, and this was the result. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BHS4DqmCQAErY48.jpg:large[/t] Not half as good as everything you guys have been doing, but I thought it looked okay. What do you guys think?

I really like it but I cant stop thinking about this.

Right now the perspective is like standing off to the side a few meters which is pretty meh, looking at it from much loser beside the tank would be better and add a lot more depth :) [editline]7th April 2013[/editline]
Get some pencils and a sketchbook.
Sketchbook for sure, but I like working with pens personally. Not being able to erase everything a billion times has helped me a lot with getting drawings down and done with, as well as helping my general accuracy since I don't have to re-draw the same line a bunch of times over. Some better pens would be a good idea though, art pens, or just generally some form of ink well pens works a lot nicer for drawing, although you can't lighten them to get tones you have to do that with density more
I'm going to play penis advocate here and say that pens can be really nice for practicing your line. They're also great for sketching on the go, I used them in factories where there was metal and dust everywhere that would smudge a pencil sketch easily.
I prefer pens because they force me to acknowledge all of the mistakes I make instead of smudging over them and pressing on. It's about the practice not the results with sketching, as far as I'm concerned.

[del]Ok I need help cw, I'm doing a monster for someone's birthday but I'm not happy with it. Somebody tell me how to improve it Tad big I'm planning to keep it sketchy, so things like the hands will stay gestural. I don't like the (upper) head very much, but I'm at a loss what to do with it. I only have today to do this as well. Might start again while I still have time Any advice appreciated Ed- minor edit, tried making the head a bit less stupid looking and hopefully fixed the leg. [/del] snip.. wasn't in any fit state for critique

Noted, will make his body cast a shadow on that leg, cheers Anything else? :v: [editline]8th April 2013[/editline] edited my post above
