I see a mountain. NO, Trees.
I tried to to some stylized thing but then it didn't work out and I didn't know how to fix it. I started really practicing about two week ago, I can't really draw faces and hands, at all. [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] How should I go about 'fixing' it?
Well telling you how to fix that specifically would be like giving you a fish so to speak. If you only started recently then you ought to be learning to fish from scratch :v: So forget hands and faces and people altogether, do some cylinders and cubes and things like that (from life) Learn how to measure, get the basics of construction and line weight and perspective et al. Walk before you try sprinting. Use pencil preferably And of course post what you do so we can help

He would fall if he stood like that. I also feel like he looks too bulky (especially his thighs), even with the kevlar on. Tactical lights.

Putting together a folio of my 2D work for my Masters application, here's a couple of my life drawings! They are all between 10-20 minute poses. If anybody wants to check out the rest of my folio you can do it at this link http://www.kieranjduncan.com/p/2d-portfolio.html It's got some 3d work, photography, digital drawings and life drawing. I'd appreciate any feedback actually. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7578622/Pictures/wheatpainting.jpg[/t] My Art IV exam grade. Was supposed to be "pop-arty" but obviously I didn't do that great of a job in that aspect.
Maybe some of your remember that animated short I was working on a few months ago. I'm going to pick it up again as a side project for the summer and I decided to put some work into getting some proportions nailed down so I can keep everything consistent. So far I've worked on the girl character, she's about 9-10 years old I think. How's this?

I don't know all that much about anatomy yet but I think the proportions for a small child should be a bit different
Working on some more character design, wanna do a set of ~3 of these.
I think the issue is that it doesn't much look like it has any definable characteristics. It's just looks like a silhouette with random highlights thrown all over it. You shouldn't have to put labels on things to tell us what they are, it should be clear from the picture alone.
She looks like a fully grown woman. I actually did draw a version without the clothes first to get the proportions nailed down: http://i.imgur.com/nRdtARE.png

Just looked through the last pages. So many awesome people came here recently. Not long ago I thought this thread will quickly turn into some kind of old people's club, where everyone knows each other which is so damn boring. I'm glad I was wrong. Thanks for inspiration guys. I wish I could draw right now.
Hey, can someone suggest some concept art or something of some unusual quadrupeds for me to sculpt? I'm doing a sort of challenge.

She looks like a woman, not a child. You basically have to look up anatomy guides for children as well as looking up pictures of children and compare their facial features and proportions to that of a adult.

It seems like the the way the clothing fits hides a lot of what makes her look like a child. Which is what I have to solve. Here's an old drawing that I did of the same character several months ago: http://i.imgur.com/ogF7wyI.png Since then I've decided to make the proportions a bit less stylized and slightly more realistic, which means a larger body and a smaller head. Maybe that's what makes her look older?

Face could use a little work to look more childish maybe (Eyes lower, bigger forhead) I think it looks pretty ok edit: Something making her look older is probably clothing choice, how many 8-10 year olds do you know who wear such muted colours? Brighten them up some :)

In your old drawing there her body looks pretty good but the head is gigantic and the facial features are adult, but she looks youngish overall. Like Eltro points out the glasses adds a highly masculine look. Eyes are also just as big on children as on adults, that's why children have huge eyes because their head isn't as big as an adult, but their eyes are.

I hate to respond negatively to criticism but you're wrong here. If you think this http://i.imgur.com/nRdtARE.png drawing matches the "adult female" closer than it matches something inbetween the "6 years" and "12 years" I don't really know what to say to you, you're simply wrong. If you could give me any more detailed criticism on the facial features than "they're adult" I'd keep that in mind but as it is right now I can't really work off of anything you've said. In other news, here's a frame from the actual cartoon [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nR1nk73.png[/thumb] The actual character art is months old here so that's why it's a bit off, it's just for that one shot though and it's from a distance so I think it'll be fine
