I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but definitely watch this video and sign this petition guys. Creative Cloud is fucked up and nobody should accept this

I don't see how adobe could really improve upon cs6 in terms of new features, I mean they could optimize it and whatever but I can't see any improvements which'll make people say "yes i will move to the new magic cloud" instead of staying with cs6
I like your style, do you have more?
Of this particular style? Just this:

But I really need to fix some of the linework on it.
There all extremely nice, especially this one because it looks like it tiny ghost eating jelly.
Thank you! That one is actually a dinosaur wrapped in a pillowcase eating beef jerky. It is my greatest work

Cloud introduces a couple features I like the concept of actually, especially the cloud autosave. The amount of time I have lost work to a crash of any sort :v:
Cloud is also extremely useful for anyone who needs to update to new versions regularly, since if you did upgrade every time they put out a new version (Business and professional work) this is substantially cheaper.
It has ts benefits and drawbacks like anything else.

An improved brush system would be amazing. I want to see customisable hotkeys for making changes to brushes on the fly - rotating a calligraphy brush with a hotkey or scroll wheel would make line work so much easier. Options that would allow the brush size to autosave while you're using a brush, so if you make your linework brush 4px wide, switch out to a shading brush then return to your line brush, you don't have to go and resize it again. The ability to link eraser size and brush size would be great too; if I'm doing some intricate bits on a shape with a small brush, 99 per cent of the time if I need an eraser I'm gonna need a tiny one as well.
Also binding the selection of a specific brush to a key or key combination.
I'd love to see a secondary border canvas as well - a space designed for handwritten notes either side of the main canvas. Unaffected by canvas-wide adjustments like hue/sat, canvas flipping, etc, you could make design notes here without worrying about having back-to-front text when your painting has been flipped.

i work smaller than they're displayed here hence the somewhat blurriness. probably gonna set my brush sensitivity to a minimum of 50% for the next set
nice on chesty!
Are you using a second monitor to hold these or are you just shrinkin down your photoshop window to fit both on screen at once?

thanks mate. i could use my second monitor but i'm shrinking them down to be side-by-side - makes it way easier to see the two together and compare them more readily. i'm working tiny on these thumbnails anyway so it doesn't matter that the reference and the canvas are small
looks something like this:

I hope to be referenceless eventually.
The only Reference I used was for the nose of the skull, looked at my friends tattoo on her back.
I only dont use references because im too lazy.

can you guys believe im getting paid to do this

It's pretty nice apart from the soft transparent brushes
You didn't use dodge and burn to light the scene did you? It looks a bit suspicious

Hot!
Images on boxes would be less detailed, given that they're printed in bulk
Not sure a warehouse would have polishey floors
Shading is a bit soft, but I assume you're still workin it
Looking good though man!

I agree with the high detail on the box designs, but in the mockup picture they sent me, they had actual photos of the products overlayed onto the boxes and i wasnt sure if that was really important, so im playing it safe.
Also they're going to add two silhouttes in the center (go figure) so I want to leave the centre nice and bright (including polishy floors) for contrast. Aside from that, I think a proper warehouse should have flat concrete floors. Maybe I can change it, we'll see. Thanks for input.

actually I didn't, but I can see why one would think that. I'll work at it

Nothing wrong with using dodge/burn if you use it well

Oh I see! You can always just use a light shade of concrete. I know that general sidewalks get pretty dark from foot traffic, but we have supermarkets over here with concrete floors and the regular cleaning they get keeps them at like 20% grey

Yeah for small touchups here and there, you should never ever substitute those tools for actual brushwork (not that he did so apparently)
@salmon the boxes should have flat diffuse lighting, they wouldn't catch bars of light on them or anything. But I know it's a wip so you probably know all that

There's a Bierstadt piece at the Seattle Art Museum. Must have been something like 7 feet across.

subscription based software should not exist and it's unacceptable when they gross so much and are now roughly doubling the cost for their products. all it is is greed and hurts the independent artist and small business

good point
I don't expect Adobe to pay much attention to petitions, I'm just gonna go back to stealing Photoshop haha
well yea you can always pirate but its worth speaking out in any way you can against a company is trying to grab its customers by the balls. i see them losing a shitload of sales from small businesses and licensees outside the US especially, and that along with enough people saying that this isn't cool could actually make a difference. i'd rather be proactive than passive.
personally i think its immoral to say that you cant own the software you paid for anymore and that you must switch to this new standard if you want to get software upgrades in the future. by not saying anything against it that's just letting them know its ok to fuck people over like this. I've used their software since before creative suite and wouldnt be able to afford their software under this new model. the old one, old fashioned paying to own something, never needed to be changed. this isn't an improvement its a money grab
I don't feel like I have the right to complain since I've never paid adobe for software in the past
What's the full story here; are they shifting everything to monthly subscriptions and completely abandoning the regular 'one payment, one permanent license' model they've been using previously?

unless they decide to go back yes they're abandoning letting you own software. CC will be subscription only

why? even if it doesn't affect you you should still be angry about it. this is terrible for consumers

quick one before i go to bed, i'll finish it some other day. Night scenes are tricky, I've only ever done daylight and i want to work out of my comfort zone. After this i'll probably work on sunset/sunrise... until then anyone have any tips about doing nighttime environments?
