Was bored in History class. Did I do okay?
Not terrible, composition could work pretty well.
Perspective is all pretty confused though and your clouds all look like happy floaty sky clouds, hey have no sense of movement and the air exploding outward, makes it look more like an odd mountain with weird cloud cover, very static and solid. :v:
I wouldnt on this specifically but try adding more shading, youve only shaded a very small bit of this and it makes it look worse in the non shaded areas than it would if there were no shading. Try adding different tones by colouring with the pencil, like having some darker buildings or his clothing be darker. Not everything is white right?
But yeah can;t say too much more than practice from reference, cant use ref in class but having the visual memory from previous practices helps a lot.
Don't worry about individual crit or doing any pieces like that for now luahelper, if you want to improve (read: learn to draw) you'll need to start from scratch, take in a lot of theory etc.
Even if it's just an occasional hobby, the fundamentals are where you oughta start. Cylinders and cubes laddy
all of you awesome landscape painters should do 5-10 frame long looping animations of landscapes. Like snow, moving grass, clouds, fire, mechanical things moving, electricity and so forth.
it'll be awesome
my first time trying this type of thing...

Silhouette idea generation
Less tedious than I thought it would be!

Your art noveau bently and the one beneath it would make great steampunk train front carriages
2 of them remind me of the Razor Train.
Which is awesome.

Unless she/he/it has some sort of weird zombie disease, eye reflections are almost always sharp.
How did I do?

That is an awesome idea, I'm gonna do that once my exams are over.
Edit: I'm actually pretty hyped up to do this, as someone with a background in animation I'm gonna love doing this. Video editing and all has always been an interest of mine. Should be a nice thing to learn and add to my personal toolbox. Just gotta install Adobe After Effects again..

You are not going to do some fancy effects with it later, are you?

I missed this thread, and without it and all the other stuff going on in my life I completely forgot to art again. But summer is coming and I'm back so hopefully I'll have more time to get back into it.
Good to see you guys :>

oh
haha, but what's with "d3bts" and effects? I feel like a dumbass :v:
I took my tablet, which I thought was broken forever, used a different cable and plugged it in. It works!
I always thought it was the tablet that was broken but it was the cable all along.
Now I've got a problem, though. I can't use the tablet with Photoshop because as soon as I move the cursor with my tablet inside the Photshop window, the document zooms in to the maximum zoom level.
If I try to draw, only one spot appears on the document and lifting off the pen has the same effect as right clicking for some reason.

Hovering the cursor on a scroll bar and moving it causes the scroll bar move by itself. This is really weird.

It was a driver issue.

I wouldn't mind watching a cartoon or a comic in this style.

I was thinking that too! They're going to be space ship designs eventually, based on the Discworld turtle. After my previous very literal translations of that turtle shape my lecturer suggested that I abstract it a bit and only leave a small element of that turtle character in there, so I'm trying that out

haha thanks
Have a gallery full of 1800's-ish, Dishonored-ish crap: http://imgur.com/a/1L2PJ
And one full of stuff that varies to a month ago to a year or so ago, the digital ones drawn with a mouse (which is now dying; cuts out randomly; hard to make straight lines with): http://imgur.com/a/BlzLU

Your anatomy still needs a bit more practice, really liked your square brush renders, especially considering you did them with a mouse
