I'm not sure if this is the best place to post, but I'll try my luck.
I've been wanting to try out some pixel art, I enjoy every single pixel art I see for some reason and I would like to try to do that myself, I'm not aware to start though.
I got some links from page 2 or something that's really helpful, but any other info would be gladly appreciated.
Also should I use Photoshop for this? Or anything else you guys can recommend?

wow, that is so original. So original in fact that I might steal it.

I pixel in paint personally, Paint.NET is a good free program for pixel work. But photoshop will work fine if you have it. One of the better pixel artists here will probably have more suggestions for resources. I tend to just mess around till I figure out what I like with any medium.
Was supposed to be a warmup but took a little longer than I'd planned

First landscape in ages so I stuck with a relatively easy to do subject matter - snow
Maloof? is secretly working as concept artist for Episode 3 confirmed.

I love your colours, any tips on how you approach it? Or any books you've read on the subject. I've love to get to your level on colours.

Do you guys know of any free alternative software for video editing the way gimp is to ps, or the way Inkscape is to illustrator?

Movie maker is the only one I know it works(however limitedly), havent used much else. I was wondering because there is a few mac software I have used and liked.
What sort of editing are you looking to do?
Try Ezvid. (Not sure if that's what you want though)
I'm not an artist at all, but I visited the colorization subreddit today and got inspired, so here's a colorization of Klara Hitler (Adolf's mum)

I think it was pretty successful for my first try (Yes I'm aware of minor issues i.e. those fucking berries but tbh I had not a clue what to do about them)
Tried it again with this pic of a woman in the 60s

I know I poorly covered up that piece of hair on the back bit with the backdrop but it's so thin and low res I didn't have any other option (and I'm sorta still new to this shit)
update:
lol I did another one :v:
I think this is someone impersonating a vintage 1920s photo though not sure cos the original's from tumblr ;

Your colours all seem a bit off, what method are you using for this out of curiosity?

Tried really hard on this, I think it's ok. Needs to look more scribbly though, and I'm bad at landscape

Reference from some painting in Battlefield 3. Just wanted to try my hand at that messy style. I still haven't really got the brushes down yet, though. Maybe an hour's work.

Sorry for the rather poor camera quality but I fixed him up a bit, looking less scratchy than he used to be. Still no idea how to finish this goddamn background

Try to use more colors than you're using. It looks like you're just using one flat color for each thing, which is kind of inaccurate--real skin has gradations of hue (like cheeks tend to be a little redder, faces on the whole are often redder than arms, etc), and also shadows tend to be either warmer or cooler in hue than the midtones, depending on the light source.
Also what's up with Mrs. Hitler's eyes, it looks like you didn't color them? Even if they're gray there's still pink parts around the eyeball and stuff.
Forgot about these
