To do this you break the bear into simpler shapes drawn in perspective (very lightly), then shade according to that. There shouldn't really be any outlines either - they flatten your drawing quite a bit. Meanwhile, your shading should be completely white at the highlights (this is good) and as dark as your outlines at the darkest shadows (you didn't do this).

Hnnng, working on this inbetween actual job work. Got some neat brushes for it too, really helps speed the process along. It was originally an idea to have a large selection of nasty looking weapons below this intimidating looking fellow, not sure if I want to do it or not. I can see lots of empty space outside the lines, putting it where you have is cringeworthy

something about this feels weird. meh. i'd colour it but i'd probably wreck it. might as welll
I wouldn't use flat white colors on things like clothes.
THey look ok here imo since the whole piece is bright and desaturated. Nice sci-fi stuff, by the way!
Currently working on these, learning so much: (refs can be found here) [sp]Yes I will do Yauch too[/sp]
Just drew Nilin..
Most threadgoers probably aren't going to be a fan of your technique, the face in particular looks very airbrushed.
By that he means you're using brushes which are too soft. Your thick black linework makes this particularly jarring; the lips and eyes look like they're just slapped on top, for example. Who's Nilin anyway

THis kind of your stuff is my favorite. Simple yet so pleasant to look at.

Been playing Warframe, eh? hey, does anyone here use a monoprice? The tablet that I posted the vine about a few pages ago hasn't been working for me. Every time I use it the cursor goes to the top-left of the screen, and removing all the drivers over and over and re-installing the drivers over and over just isn't working.
Nope, i played in the closed beta but i got tired of it after that. Not remotely inspired by it tho. :P

The first one were horrendous. I suggest you do the same, seeing the progress you can make is awesome.

I have to wait till i get to uni to be taught :L FFS [editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
I'll admit that I have no idea how faces work :v:
I really like the sharpness to it, the offset colours on the white work really well and so do the reds. Nice colour management.
