Wood, quit rating everyone optimistic.
frog piss has been proven to be the #1 wart remover, beating all over-the-counter drugs. true story.

It had to happen sooner or later
Found a baby toad on my porch, about the size of a dime.
My family set up a little pond a while back for some turtles we found about a year ago. They didn't stay for long, but the turtles were pretty awesome, and would know who we were when they were still in a little aquarium that served as our makeshift home for them.
They appear to have left though, probably for the pond across the way.
Wood is mad because trees are not a proper environment for herps and so he rates everyone optimistic
op where do you live i swear to god i've seen those reptiles around my environment at some point

North Carolina, in the mountains
But these all have large ranges
Wish I had some pics of my old snapping turtle.
Feeding time was brutal.
I practice herpetology in the sense of exploding water moccasins when me and my friends go fishing.
herpetology. this is amazing.
This is really cool because I love turtles but god damn I was so sure I was gonna read about Herp Derping
Damn you all, you've forced me to go and have to take pictures of all of the turtles in my pond.
Awhile back (11 years or so) my family moved into a new house and my father, in his fashion, turned the backyard into an absolute paradise. He then went and purchased two red-eared sliders.
A male, and a female. They then proceeded to breed.
And then again.
And again.
I think you can see where this is going.
The interesting part about all of this is that we actually managed to somehow accidentally create a hybrid species of turtle by introducing a single male Russian turtle that proceeded to get sexy with the original red-eared sliders. I'll post pictures tomorrow and attempt to do a head-count, if they don't all eat me first :v:
:frog:
I just had to.

Your avatar looks funny. Also, all the snakes in Oklahoma are mean :saddowns:
I have a pet Armadillo Lizard. He doesn't do much but sit around and gnaw on the crickets we feed him.
He'll nip you if you grab his tail though.
going herping tomarrow, hope to catch a few more baby turtles
Also I can only take one animal to college with me, should I take a water turtle, box turtle, or snake. I do not want to take a lizard because my room mate is already bringing one
I'm herpin right now

I used to have a lot of frogs where I live, but more people moved into Arizona and they got killed off from all the building I guess.
I wish I had my own little herptile. :saddowns:

A Grey's Treefrog that I caught in the driveway. You're supposed to hold them like this, right?

I caught a lot of turtles today and am in the process setting up a new tank for my snappers
Untill their new tank is ready I am setting up a live feed of my snappers
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/snapping-turtles
a few notes about the live stream
1) the water not dirty its looks like that because I use river sand from their natural environment it takes a while to settle
2) you will most likely only see their head
3) the feed will not always be active
4)If you dont see anything wait but dont be afraid to say so on the feed I can move the cam
